    I'm grateful for this video, I couldn't locate my DVR manual but this video helped a lot. Please I set on buzzer but didn't hear any alarm from the system when there is video loss

      The DVR will trigger the video loss alarm when the DVR channel lost the video.
      Can you confirm
      1, you have set the: main menu-alarm-video loss( enabled) and " buzzer"
      2, the DVR channel has no image on the screen

    Thanks I’m seeing this a couple of years late. I have a hikvision Nvr with cams from 5 years ago. I don’t think it has this motion detect by squares. At least I can’t find it on the app. Can I buy this NvR or software but keep my hikvision cams and same Poe cables so I don’t waste too much money or hardware movement changes?

      This DVR may not work with your hikvision POE camera.

    Well done, good video. How can i stop it from counting raindrops.
    Not counting them, but hundreds of alerts when it is raining.
    Last night i had over 2500 messages, all rain.
    How can i change that as when i right click i do not getany of your screen.

      set lower motion detection sensitivity, and select the motion areas.

    Hi . I've followed your instructions. Fantastic. But I'm having trouble setting up email. I'm using gmail. But when testing it says wrong user name or password. But my email and password are correct

    I have a security camera
    I cant understand that directions, the manufacturer will not help me. I have an sd card 28 gs, i have emailed the company made numerous phone calls and i cant get anyone to assist me,I need this security camera set up so i can this bt coming into my room and stealing my property i want to show this to the police to prove that this happening to me, my security camera looks like a ordinary alarm clock, is there some way that my camera wont connect to the internet so it be detected???

    Dear Friend, I have Deatti system that is very similar to yours. Same metal bos, very similar
    vidieo interface. I tried for a few days to get the motion detect to work but no success.
    No buzzer. Girl at Deatti was very polite, but I do not think she understood the problem. I took the cover off the box to discover
    there was no buzzer just an empty space on the board. Next I took the buzzer from my original unit and soldered it to the new
    unit. It would buzz now at reboot but still not at motion alarm. They offered me £10 for compensation, but that wont make it work.
    I think the motion alarm must have been a nuisance so they disabled it and nevey told anybody. I wonder did it ever work
    on your unit.

    Really well put together video .. I followed all your instructions.. and I get a test success message . But don't get a mail notification when motion is detected . I have ticked send mail .. any help ? Be most appreciated. Thanks

    In spite of altering the sensitivity setting on the alarm and the zone to avoid nuisance alarms it sends me alarm alerts literally every few seconds, hundreds an hour, it seems uncontrollable, I have to unplug the router to stop it, it has a mind of its own it seems. The initial set up, cameras picture etc. Fine, but beyond that even with there tech. Back up it’s been trouble , what do you think ?

      David Cole i’m having exact same issue. Only had it on for 2 hours. And i’m already ignoring the alerts, thus rendering the whole thing pointless. I’ve tweaked it and tweaked it, but still an unreal amount of alerts.

    Hi mate, I recently purchased one of these systems and one of the cameras has started picking up human detection with out any settings been set, none of the others do this, I cant find anywhere on line or in the manual for this setting, any clues?

    Hello, I have been trying to set the region, I select the pink squares but after click on OK it doesn't save the area /region set , I try many times but it doesn't save the area. Any clue what could be the error?

      please select the pink square and click the OK button, it will save the settings.

    So the syetm will just record at times when there is motion if you want, and will record a bit before and after? How is that done.. is a certain delay of footage kept in ram to be used when record is triggered? I want this system to only record when there is motion but it's time critical that it doesn't miss either end.

      you can enable the motion detect and motion & alarm recording mode. Under the setting, it can record when motion is triggered. You can also set the record a bit before and after the movement.

    Hi. Could you explain the "alarm input" settings please because if i enable them my playback timer bar stays red so i disable them. What are these for.

      the alarm input will need the extra device, you can ignore this settings. And you can see the red bar is because you enable the alarm - motion detect. and the motion/alarm recording mode.

      the CCTV does not support all the email SMTP, if you don't know google, you can try another email to setup the email notification?

      If your DVR only has 4 video in ports, you may not be able to add the fifth camera.
      Please check your DVR port first.

      @@douglasbarnhart3324If the DVR has eight video in ports, you can add up to 8 cameras to the DVR.
      Please add the cameras as the existing four cameras and wire the cable between the cameras and DVR,

      you can go to your phone settings and allow sound notifications for mthe app,

    I have a different brand of cctv dvr but appears to use the same os. I'm having issues getting it to accept the login, if I don't have ssl ticked it wont connect to the server, but if I do it says wrong username or password. but i know I've entered these details correctly

    I have entered the email settings for alerts on a gmail account but it says the account or password are incorrect, i am on port 465 and SSL is ticked, i have logged in on my computer to check the address and password and they are correct, what could i be doing wrong?

      Have you tried 587 port?
      Be sure your gmail setting allow less secure app on.

      please check the record-setting, be sure you enabled the motion alarm record mode, schedule recording.

    Hi mate
    I set the motion detect up and put it to the lowest sensitivity. However, it’s still picking up very little items and pinging emails. Especially at night. I want the motion detect to only pick up big movements such as people. Is there a way to set that up?

      Unfortunately not.
      I don’t think these cameras are sophisticated enough to set up to only pick up people etc. I set my cameras at the lowest sensitivity but it was still picking up small motion and pinging emails left right and centre. Which is a shame, camera quality is decent on these cameras.
      I’ve bought a Nest doorbell camera which has people detection and only sends you a notification if it detects people in the zone you set. It’s a wireless system so can fail but it’s been working perfectly fine for me. So using those in conjunction with this system. Thinking about getting the nest outdoor camera for the back garden too.
      Probably not what u wanted to hear. This system is good, just lacking in the motion detection bit.

      I’m also wondering if there is a fix. Got notifications also pinging non stop. And tweaked everything down to the most minimal sensitivity. But no joy.

    Dvr turns off completely after about 4-5 hrs. What could be the problem?

      instead of the email alert, you can try the app push alert.

    I have apple, yahoo, google mail accounts, can I use the iOS for the email. How do I know what SMTP TO USE?

      Google was the only SMTP that worked for me, as can be fully configured if you read my post above. My yahoo has .com.au due to my location, so may have been the reason was blocked. Only used a desktop P.C., and hopefully ones isp does not block it as spam as well.

      @tatko, if your dvr email is being sent to the spam folder you may have to add it to your address book as a trusted email. Hope this helps.

      @@SanscoDirect it's a xvim H.264 that's all I could find I have four cameras hooked up now like to add one more one the back of the box it has eight port holes but when I add another camera its telling me has no video do I need to get into the system and change something. I hope I supply the information you ask for and thank's for your help.

      The algorithm of motion detection is based on change on each small single block (pixel) of the area being monitored. The reason why you've got hundreds of email is because there are always change on those blocks when raining. This is not a system based on PIR algorithm so the alarm might not be 100% accurate sometimes. Please allow me to give you some alternatives in this case:
      #1 Change the camera angle and aim it towards somethings else
      #2 Set up the motion detection masking to blind areas you don't want to monitor: Main Menu - Alarm - Motion Detect - Region - Set
      #3 Set up the motion detection recording and disable this email alerts if it is causing you too much inconvenience. You might still play back when needed, pay attention to the red section time bar on Playback for motion detection recording.

      Can you confirm you input the old password and the new password?
      By default, there is no password for the DR, you will leave the password /old password blank.

      Looks like they've completely done away with the buzzer option in 2024 🥴
