Thanks for visiting my post of ARJ on LETTERMAN from last year. I was put up to support his Adelaide Fringe Visit from 2009. For those making comment this is "old" material - well it is over year old, it's TH-cam. I was going to take it down but seems there is a constant flow of just viewers on a daily bias. FINALLY: Arj is unlikely to see comments unless he Googles himself and we all know how he feels about that. Thanks for dropping past.
@nine0rowan I beg to differ. As Arj so perspectively points out: Do you NEED to have 160G of music? That's 40,000+ songs. I've a 32Gig ipod for 1.5 years now & there's songs on it I've not heard yet. The size creates the demand: You feel obliged to fill it. You put all your favourite songs on it, then every song those artists have done + anything vaguely similar + entire catalogue of any artist with 1 song you like. End result: you listen to the same 50-something songs you already know and love.
It doesn't matter how long the jokes have been used, they are still funny. Also, comedians pick and choose their jokes for the specific crowd they are performing for. Letterman's crowd is typically older and most probably didn't even know Arj's work. Think things through before trashing his performance.
@H0B0J03 It's not nerves. It's the fact that he's used to having his audience not interrupt his flow with applause... He's actually a little frustrated because each joke keeps getting broken up which ruins his flow.
That was interesting, he did seem quite nervous and strangely unaccustomed to applause in that set. I'm sure I've seen him perform the same jokes with more confidence in front of audiences as big or bigger than Letterman's (in studio audience) before. Still, he's a great comedian. And yeah, unless your a comedian with a largely improvisational style, you're not going to try out new material on a massive show like Letterman- you go with the tried and true, the ones you know will get laughs.
the first couple of minutes and the bit at the end were original and funny, but the bit in the middle has been re-used so much, only americans who are new to it would laugh, unlike us aussies.
I think that reads: I do not know Rhys Darby, is better to me. How is he better to you? When did you get a chance to met Arj and Rhys to judge who treats you better. Approved your comments because you're into skating. But - so grumpy reading the use of the English language - nothing too personal it is 3am AND hoped EVERYONE could write their thoughts, with thought. :)
Joke I hear used most often is the iPod one. That is mystifying though, because I think its one of his weakest jokes. I mean with 80Gb you can have all your music together - thats an easy, legit reason to buy one. Lots of his other observations on consumer stuff are more valid.
