Hey everyone, some things I forgot to mention:
Our Raid Comp is 2 Healers (Disc, HolyP), 2 Tanks (Blood, ProtP), and 6 DPS (Boomkin, Ele, Fire, Assassination, Arms, Survival). 3 Healers will make it tough to meet the damage checks so I recommend sticking to 2.
Also, you do have a corruption meter during this fight that I briefly mentioned. It shouldnt be too much of a factor if you're performing all the mechanics as mentioned, but here's how it works:
25% you get a dispellable corruption debuff.
50% you start to vomit infront of yourself, so in the 2nd phase you should loose spread and look away from your raid.
75% tentacles will spawn on your shoulders and shoot shadowbolts.
100% you get a 100% damage increased buff, Instant Cast Spells, and can no longer be healed.
The reason groups have their mage get the 100% is to boost damage of course, but also because mages can Iceblock Shadow orders to stay alive longer, and they benefit a ton from the instant pyroblasts yadda yadda mage stuff. Since you only get 1 brez in 10 man, and there will also be more shadowbolt damage from the 75% effect, you dont really want more than 1 person to do this.
For the most part, you don't want to gain corruption (and really wont gain much at all), unless you're actively trying to gain it like our Mage did. Just do the mechanics, and you won't have to think about it much.

Love the guides, they are extremely well thought out and presented. One thing I just noticed is that with your comp once Fire Ele drops you're losing 4% spell power from totem of wrath w/o another fire totem down. On Sinestra you were keeping up searing totem so it was there for that one.

Love watching your guides. one qeustion tho. we been progressing on it for like 4/5 pulls. but our tanks sometimes litteraly just get one shot. even tho we kill the fire elmental pretty quickly
If folks worship too long, they buff boss dmg.
Tanks probably want a cooldown up for taunt swap when they pick boss up so they dont get melee's for 60k back to back.
@@SG-mi5km yh our interupts are quick. Idk about the rest. I heard them say they just get hit 3 times in a row and it kills them
Yeah tank damage can get spicy but just need to use tank CDs and externals and your healers need to be heads up and assume the big damage is going to be there and throw some big heals at the tanks for a few seconds even if it ends up overheating
Yeah chogall just cranks just make sure to have some CD's or externals when fire hits, and also make sure youre not getting any extra damage from things like depravity, conversion, elementals, all that stuff.

Im newer to raid leading and havent played every class is there a way i could learn all the group cds and what they do to give better call outs? Like what is “am”?

Im new to raid leading as well, its a bit of a learning curve.
For starters, you could look up the classes in your raid and just quickly scan their abilities. See about things youve never heard of, and think when they might be useful. Icy veins normally lists raid cds for each class as well.
The best way to know more about a class is to play them, so if you have the time maybe level one, leveling is super easy now days, but i get it if thats off the table.
You can also just ask your raid members what cds they have sometime. There might be some guide online about raid cd's in cata so you can try googling that.
Here are the big ones you should look out for though,
Unholy - AMZ
Resto shaman - Spirit Link
HolyP - Aura Mastery
ProtP - Divine Guardian
Druid - Tranq
Warrior - Rallying Cry
Disc - Barrier
Priest - Hymn (mana and health hymns)
There also are a bunch of external cds such as pain supression, or blessing of protection that can be super helpful on fights as well though. Good luck on your research!
How did the mage manage to survive? I die with the raidwide damage, and I take the first 3 shadows to get corruption stacks. Should I wait to take stacks until the second add that casts the shadow-thing?
He iceblocks first shadow orders, use things like mage armor, and whatever else, youll die start of 2nd phase
The reason its a fire mage is because its 100% crit buff
And remind them to switch to mage amor for the resistance and mana after, cuz they wont need crit from molten armor.
Yes they can utilize the effect the best with one brez and spreading ignite and combust and the crit buff

It's not a crit buff. It makes your casts instant, and Mages have Pyroblast which enables them to convert instant casts to damage better than any other class. Also they switch to Mage Armor for the mana regen because dumping instant pyros is pretty taxing on the mana pool.
Council guide?
Prob not for another week or two unfortunately, were not worrying much about council because their loot table sucks and its one of the hardest fights
