Using the Deck of Many Things for Oracle is HORRIFIC. LOL when you said it's really different, i was like, of course it is! It's meant to torture the players. 🤣 I love that!
I got the DND tarot for Christmas from one of my kids. But my copy had no titles or suits on any of the minor Arcana, I used a gold Shapie and added STR, WIS, CHR and INT to the bottom of the cards. I just assumed they all came like that, I even watched a few walk throughs, and none of them had titles. I was shook that yours had titles 🤣
I'm also glad to see they fixed it. But I have to say, this deck has really forced me to stretch my intuitive muscles, I've really had to unlearn the traditional meanings and focus on what the art is telling me. It has been a great exercise and I've been pleasantly surprised. Everything happens for a reason, I suppose. 😁
I met my husband in World of Warcraft back in like 2006... we've been married for about 15 years now! :) listening to you talk about playing and raiding just made me nostalgic and think about those times :) I have the Modern Spellcasters Tarot on my wishlist and now that you mentioned it, I totally see the WoW connections! Did you ever get into Diablo? I absolutely adore the Diablo Sanctuary Tarot that just released, it's amazing with its references and the quality is just amazing. It's huge but so beautiful. I also think of Final Fantasy with the Heavenly Bloom Tarot, that deck is such a good reader for me with the stories it tells. I wish the Skyrim Tarot was better -- the pips and the art style are a bit disappointing for me. I miss the Elder Scrolls world and hope they'll come out with the next installment soon. Thanks for this video, makes me want to go delve into my decks :D
Yes, my husband and I played the Diablo line too... I think the new one is coming out this summer. I have looked at the related deck, it's so big! But I might end up getting it because that's another game we enjoyed. I'm keeping my fingers cross for a new Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age. :)
@@DawnMichelleTarot Oooh yes, my husband and I are really looking forward to Diablo 4 too! The original Diablo is the first PC game I finished about a year or so after it released. I didn't have my own computer then so I had to go to my cousin's place for that. Hilarious. And yess, Dragon Age ... I want original Bioware team back, sigh.
I haven't played many video games (my mom wasn't a fan when I was growing up), but I'd have to say that the Runic Tarot makes me think of Assassin's Creed: Vallhalla, which might be a bit basic, but there you go!
That was exactly what I thought when I first got it! I haven't played much AC but I did dabble with Valhalla a bit. Runic Tarot totally has those vibes. :)
World of Warcraft has been such a great part of my life too. I have less time for gaming nowadays but every now and then I still enjoy playing and now actually you made me want to play Dragon Age Inquisition. 😄
That is one of my favorites for sure. We have been in an out of the WoW world since it came out, but done the whole nine yards with the raiding and all. So fun. I don't have time for that now, but we still enjoy casual gaming. :)
Happy to hear the Horror Tarot has a cool place in your collection! :D I haven't played Dragons Age but the D&D deck makes me think about Dungeon Siege, which was the first game I played through and has a special place in my gamer heart. (I played Doom before that but that was more about playing the game as a companion for the books plus it's a good old fashioned hack & slash XD so I don't think about it as a game I played from start to finish). I would LOVE a Destiny 2 deck.. :sigh: would be so dang beautiful!
I love your nerdy goodness Dawn Michelle:) 😍👌This was so awesome and you really make tarot fun!! Great video -I have most of these decks and I really enjoy them -especially the white numen deck. I'm not good at video games, lol, but I'm still a nerd myself:) 😁
This was just pure good fun hehe. But I do enjoy sharing and showing the less serious side of tarot... and I'm just a huge nerd and I want to share all the nerdy things lol.
i've never played WoW but I do play ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) & was really disappointed by the Skyrim Tarot. There was so much more they could have done with that deck. I'm also particular, I never played Daggerfall, I started with Morrowind. You'd love ESO if you've never played it. The housing system in the game is a whole thing in itself. The D&D Tarot looks really cool tho, it's now on my wishlist.
This is such a great idea! I'm a gamer at heart and have quite a few decks that remind me of Animal Crossing. I really need a WoW and a Skyrim/ESO deck (but not the one that's out currently), I think those would complete my gamer deck collection.
A WoW deck and a real Elder Scrolls deck would be awesome! I'm kinda surprised someone hasn't Blizzard up yet for a WoW tarot, there's so much in that world that you can pull from.... Just as long as there is an Ony card... ooh and a Leeroy Jenkins!. :)
I wouldn't have guessed you play dnd and are a massive gamer, love it! Im about to start a new campaign with friends (I'm still very much a newbie tho), and my latest game discovery is Guild Wars 2, highly recommend! I don't really relate any deck to any game but the closest thing would be my Mystic Manga tarot. I have my eyes on the Enchanted Bloom tarot for it's similar vibes
Oh yes, Guild Wars 2 was excellent. We spent a lot time in that world with friends too. :) I've looked at the Mystic Manga many times, it also has gamer vibes. :)
I have the D&D curse of Strahd tarokka deck which has suits like tarot but is more like an oracle deck. The pictures are black and white but it's a cool little deck and read quite well as an oracle and not expensive.. 7 British pounds I got mine for! Also have dishonoured tarot deck which is more like a playing card deck with pictures of the characters for majors...which arent very majory! It's not the best to be honest! And then theres my Tactics Ogre deck majors only art by Akihiko Yoshida who did the art for FF....and I love this deck. Only 3 decks not much of a game nerd only FF really. (Early ff)
I don't have a legit Zelda deck (sad face) but I've been playing that franchise since it started too! There is a card in the White Numen that gives me Zelda vibes, but no true Zelda inspired deck. :)
My husband and I used to play MMORPGs all the time but stopped years ago. I would LOVE to get back into playing with him and am wondering if you suggest any particular one of the ones you mentioned (or have any other favoritea you'd recommend)? We played Dark Age of Camelot (props if you know it!), WoW and a few other obscure ones that I can't even remember the names of.
Final Fantasy 14 online has a pretty strong presence and WoW is of course still around. Both are excellent games. Skyrim has an online element but I haven't played that so I'm not sure what that world is like in a MMORPG sense. Guild Wars 2 was also fun, but I don't know if that's still around. We haven't played much in the MMO realm for years. I hear good things about Conan too, but again haven't played it. :)
I think mine is a newer printing, there is a link to the exact listing I purchased from the description box. I wonder if they got so much feedback about not having the names they added it. I feel like the deck would be pretty useless without them.
Hmm, the closest thing I would think of might be the Tarot of a Sweet Twilight but that has a totally different vibe... more Dali less Burton, but still a really cool deck. I don't actually have the Dark Mansion so I'm just kinda going off what I've seen of it so I'm probably not really helpful with that. :)
The Dragon Age tarot wasn't all that, really. I found it hard to match many of the minor arcana images with the card meanings. I think the D&D tarot is by far the better deck to actually use as a deck (and I completely agree with you that many of the cards have a strong DA feel to them). As far as decks not intended as game decks go, Lisa Hunt's Ghosts and Spirits often has me thinking of the Witcher series of games.
Ooh that's a good call for Witcher! I was also thinking that Tarot Z (which I don't actually own) would be a good matchup for Last of Us. I might have to add to my collection and make a follow up video. :)
If you are willing to pay shipping from Europe (around 30 CA$) I have a Dragon Age deck that I have never used. I don't game and it makes no sense if you don't know the world. Got it from a friend that do game but don't tarot 😄 anyways if you want it it's yours.
Using the Deck of Many Things for Oracle is HORRIFIC. LOL when you said it's really different, i was like, of course it is! It's meant to torture the players. 🤣
I love that!
Yep, that’s what makes it so fun! Nothing good ever comes out of the Many Things and Fates hehe. It’s like the anti-affirmation deck 😀
I think mine is a newer edition. I'm glad to see they added it because it would be really hard to work with without them! :)
I'm also glad to see they fixed it. It has been a great exercise and I've been pleasantly surprised. Everything happens for a reason, I suppose. 😁
I needed this so hard! I've been wanting to get the d&d deck for so long but never sure how well it worked. Thank you for this!!!

I was frankly surprise for DoD tarot quite pretty but definitely Heavenly Bloom is a yes to the deck !! 🤩🤩

We didn't get into ESO, just played the single version... but we have thought about checking it out. The D&D tarot is good, I recommend it. :)

Yay another Dragon Age fan! That tarot deck was one of the things that piqued my interest in tarot.
That is so cool! I love seeing the blend of those worlds, I think they pair together nicely. :)
The first deck is amazing. I have it and I could read it so easily.
Love to hear you talk about your gamer adventures as I can so relate! I have the Dragon Age deck but imho the D&D deck is actually more beautiful!
I would agree! Plus I hear the actual Dragon Age deck doesn't function well as a tarot. So I'm happy with what I have. :)
I wouldn't have guessed you play dnd and are a massive gamer, love it! Im about to start a new campaign with friends (I'm still very much a newbie tho), and my latest game discovery is Guild Wars 2, highly recommend!

Oh yes, Guild Wars 2 was excellent. We spent a lot time in that world with friends too. :) I've looked at the Mystic Manga many times, it also has gamer vibes. :)
There /was/ a Final Fantasy Deck!!
And the art was made by THE Yoshitaka Amano! It's a pip deck though but the majors and the courts are beautiful!
I thought I remembered seeing on at some point. I'll have to look that up. :)
I REALLY wish Blizzard release a WoW deck. Omg my life would be complete!
Right?! I was just commenting about that. As long as there is an Ony and Leeroy Jenkins card, I'm in. :)

Where is Zelda? You forgot Zelda! Man, my inner nerd really enjoyed this video, this should be a tag!

I absolutely loved this video

Pleased to see Heavenly Bloom here! The images resemble league of legends' character splash art. 😁
Oh yes, I could totally see LoL vibes there too!
All Dungeons & Dragons Tarot flipthrough I saw doesn't have suit names printed. What is your version? Can share the ISBN nos? You bought it in Amazon?
I think mine is a newer printing, there is a link to the exact listing I purchased from the description box. I wonder if they got so much feedback about not having the names they added it. I feel like the deck would be pretty useless without them.
@@DawnMichelleTarot That's true. The Amazon link still show the old deck with nos only. A little insecure to purchase it yet, lol. Thanks.
Persona 5 Royal has its own tarot deck! It’s a great game (JRPG).
Ooh good to know, thank you! :)
LoVe this video! I'd like to find a deck similar to Dark Mansion Tarot which I love 🎉, any suggestion? Thank you
