I’m an American and I have to say that British talk shows are much more entertaining and lively than American talk shows.
Lack of corporate sponsors and their fear of virtually every viewer who will complain about anything.
The only good American talk show is Conan
The best ever American talk show host is gone now; Craig Ferguson. And don't say he's not American. He is extremely proud to be a US citizen.

@@ip5799 I agree with you I P, I think Michael is very funny and I love how he makes me laugh about little "every day" life's experiences. One of my favorites is the "People Snow Bus".
Because his jokes are ones that EVERYONE makes with the people they know anyway.
The McIntyre clip is a perfect example of why I love Graham Norton: just a bunch of celebrities having the weirdest conversations and having a laugh even though they've probably only met an hour or less ago.
Definitely a better format than just having one or two elebrities on at a time as most American talk shows... it's cool when a bunch from different places and different professions get to mingle and share stories.

The thing I love most about this video is Ryan Gosling's reaction to Greg's story. It's so rare these days to see a real laugh from a celebrity on a talk show.
Adds a whole another layer of funny to that brilliant story.
As an audiologist, the last story about the teacher's microphone is absolutely priceless. :)
As a teacher who's worked with hearing impaired students, I've had similar experiences (not that graphic, but definitely forgetting you have a mic on and talking to other teachers or to yourself, and the students expressions are always so expressive!). So that story was honestly way too relatable 😂
As non audiologists everyone else found it funny too. Doesn’t make you special.

As an American who ADORES Graham Norton, I REALLY wish he would host the Oscars. We have some pretty funny late night hosts (Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, Stephen Colbert, James Cordon who is really “your” guy to name a few) but Graham is the GOAT and really underrated internationally.

1:06 - 4:57 - This is exactly why Graham is the best talk show host. When he senses the guests having a good time and catches some entertaining stuff brewing, he allows it to happen. Its so organic.

I just love how relaxed and open the celebrities are. Just regular people like every other joe. Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel seem so scripted and stiff when there's just one guest and Kimmel/Fallon. With Graham, they have at least 3 guests and then a music act and it's just like 4-5 mates having a drink at the pub, sharing stories. It's lovely.

I can’t imagine being a talk show host and having Robin Williams as a guest. I imagine once he’s began, he’s not coming back. Just sit back and watch. There’s no reigning him in at that point.

You should watch Inside actors studio with Robin Williams. It's a good 10-15 minutes before the host gets his first question in.

I actually met him in person after a live show through friends who were working for him at the time. He had an energy you would never forget. Gorgeous..brilliant man . What a huge loss.....

(Expecting him to name some hot starlet) He considered for a moment, then said "Ricky Gervais" with a bit of seriousness. When the woman reporter asked "Why him, of all people?" he replied, "Because he makes me laugh!....makes me feel happy"
