How good is the drummer to be able to stay so laid back in the pocket during a live performance?!? It’s such a natural tendency to increase tempo when playing live but this guy just OWNS it. Such an unsung hero of this band in my opinion.
Black tar heroin circa 93 would have been amazing via afghanistan via former soviet union to Glasgow Scotland 1993.
One of the best rock songs ever written. The ambiance of the guitar riff puts you in the Vietnam jungle. (For those that don''t know, the song was written about Cantrell's dad's experience in Vietnam).
"the bullets SCREEEEEEAM to me from somewhere"
Layne's vocals was just out of this world... what a legend.
Maybe Staley's voice was something else in this recording. Fucking spine chilling. Sublime version of The Rooster. Thank god for the people who post this stuff for us all to hear.
Well said. Imagine this recording being locked away somewhere and none of us getting to hear it. That would be terrible. Something very haunting about Layne’s voice here.
I remember the first time I heard "Would?" in high school. It felt like Layne's voice was reaching out from the 6th dimension. It was more human than human. One of the all-time greats.
How in the fucking hell does this not have five hundred MILLION views.
So pissed that this isn't on spotify
It's a shame because the rest of the show is on Spotify. Just this song isn't available.
This song is too good for spotify, they can't handle it, Layne is a the vocal god of rock 🥃
I was at this gig and still got the ticket stub. Wish I could remember it 🥴
I also went to that show, absolutely brilliant gig. If only Lane Satley hadn't gone downhill so quickly after that tour.
the sheer fucking power of that yeaaaaaaaaahhhh is mind blowing at 2:25
I read your comment before I that kicked in so I was ready, and it still blew me away.
It one of his best yea's imo, They could have been as big as metallic if he was still here.
Layne Stanley’s voice is amazing no matter what
UNBELIEVABLE version. Celtic ambience in this one.
You know a dude's legit when his voice is as good or better live, as it is in the studio version. God damn! RIP Layne Staley, such a loss. 😢
Better than the studio version! I'm dead serious!
@@JuanmaUG Indeed he is. But it would be nice to hear a performance at the same venue.
The way he hits those low tone “Yeaaaa-AH”’s screams just smacks you right in the face, what a experience it was to see him live in his prime. Fuck.
The National Library of Congress needs to preserve this
Jesus Layne. I miss that boy still.
If aliens came to the world and asked me for an mixed mp3 CD, I would definitely write this song on that cd.
100% one of the greatest songs ever written and performed in rock music history.
Stoked I found this version! I remember first hearing it & hadn't seen Layne Staley before yet, so when I finally saw him I thought "THAT amazing, powerful voice is comin from that little fellow?!?"
Such an inspiration! All of them.
First time i heard this song was in Knoxville when they opened for ozzy layne was wearing a cast on his leg..needless to say they blew ozzy off the stage ! Since then one of my favorite songs and bands
If I could pick any song to go live the moment in it’d be this performance this song this day moment for moment. I wish I could have experienced what his voice sounded like live, at this time of his career at that. This guy influenced me more musically than anyone else in this world and I’m a drummer. I will always be connected to this band
Powerfull...best vocal ever...like a thousands blades ripped my ears...
Wow 30
years ago ,,,,, where dies the time go ,,,,, time is so unforgiving
2:25 I didn’t know it was possible to get goose bumps on the soles of your feet until
I heard this
Damn Layne was freaking awesome and this song is amazing
I was still a toddler when the Grunge bands first hit the seen. I wasn't able to fully appreciate their impact on the music Industry.
holyfuck that first “aw yeah! “
thanks for uploading.
I was at this show. If I close my eyes I’m still there.
What a sound!!Top of their game here.
Layne sounding like the best singer ever
This is it!! The live version of rooster!!been looking for this and where it was recorded!! Awesome and wonderful!!🔈🔈🔈🔈🔉🔉🔉🔈🔇🔇🔇🔇🔇🔇😎😎😎😎
Best version of this. Fight me
Live sound engineers deserves a raise
The guitar and drums sound nasty
People say the beauty of everything fades over time and in most cases they are right. This song is the exception to that rule.
This version is more haunting especially at the beginning. Layne's voice was mystical back then.
This person better never end their channel. I hope it lives on forever.
I was there! So many excellent concerts at the Barra's around that time. RIP Layne x
FNM, Fishbone, Ice Cube, Public Enemy, Joe Satriani, Black Crowes, RHCP, Seputura, Anthrax, Pantera, Megadeth, Prodigy, Ministry, janes Addiction (best show ever), Primus, Living Colour among the highlights of my early 90's barrowlands shows.
@@DeoMachina Have you been to a show at the Barras? Best venue ever!
Wow amazing performance!!
Holy fuck that was perfection
Formidabile ...sono quasi 30 anni che la ascolto e splende forte come il primo giorno
This is the only song that hit me so hard, I remember exactly when and where I was the first time I heard it. I was working for a landscaping company driving to a job site in the truck and was hooked right away! I didn’t know who it was (the band) but knew I had to find out! Told everybody about it! Pivotal moment in music history for me! Thank You for the upload! RIP LS
BEST Live audio I’ve ever heard. LS amazing vocals…chillz
Stunning version, well it is in Scotland after all! :-)
What a voice!!!!
i would sell my legs to witness this live
Not only is this a quality recording but the visuals make it that much more enjoyable
What a voice!
It's my favorite version of the song
Damn powerful vocals
5:15 raw soul
This is one of those "you just had to've been there, man" moments
Truly one of a kind greatest vocalist to ever live I wish more people spoke about him
If only they played there 3 years later, was a 13 mini munchkin in 93 so couldnt travel down from Aberdeen
Thanks Alice In Chains Fans II GREAT AUDIO!
Anyone else here think Alice In Chains should have only ever done live albums? Their studio stuff is awesome, but it never had anywhere near the nuance of feeling and richness their live stuff does.
This is no reason at all, just don't listen to the studio recordings then...
I'd love a live album from them. We have that compilation one but I'd like a full setlist to be released. Unfortunately they had to stop touring in 1993 because of Layne going to rehab, I'm glad they kept him in the band though. Other groups would have replaced him and kept going.
Them boys - KNOW " HEAVY " !
And why is this version excluded from like all streaming :(
Amazing.
this is unbelievable
So is this maybe (if not AIC, but Layne, vocally) their best live performance? Every song from this set is better than the next
this is preferable to the studio version .. love the atmosphere ..
Mark Lanegan said it best....regardless of what state Staley was in, he would get up and fucking kill it ever single night.
I love the line, they were like some apocalyptic machine every night. Said Layne was the most powerful rock singer he had ever seen.
In same class as plant Mercury n Rob Halford, that is some serious company n well deserved!
This is absolutely ridiculous!
It’s a shame not more professional recordings of them live from this time.
Almost no lallapalooza recordings or footage n he was in his prime as was band!
Why is this not on this album on Spotify?????!?!?!?!
Wow!
Es esta la version excluida de todas las plataformas de streaming? Live at the moore
any pictures of this gig?
This gig was recorded for Radio One, don't think there is any filmed footage.
@@amythegamer9897 wouldn't it have been radio Clyde? As they used to do the recording in tye Apollo
yeah man
Pls upload moree bootleggs and vids! Thank youuuuuu
Does anyone know why this song is left off on Apple and Spotify on the live Album?
Layne's voice is like a deity
I was there!
Sounds good but I can't see the band. 🤔
Harmonizing is mediocre but Jesus, Staley is amazing.
Damn. How have I never heard this version?
Top... Puta sonoridade do caralho 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 sem mencionar o vocal extraordinário do Layne Staley
I think this is on one of their CDs I have it but I can’t remember the name of the album
@@lilwrinckel9097
Pickle Nick 🥒 was referring to this specific live recording, not the studio version, but yeah 🤙
I just came here to find this version cause it wasn't playable on the album on yt music.

Ain't found a way to kill me yet
Eyes burn with stinging sweat
Seems every path leads me to nowhere
Wife and kids, household pet
Army green was no safe bet
The bullets scream to me from somewhere
Here they come to snuff the rooster, oh yeah
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain't gonna die
No, no, no oh, you know he ain't gonna die
Here they come to snuff the rooster, oh yeah
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain't gonna die, oh
No, no, no oh, you know he ain't gonna die
Walkin' tall machine gun men
They spit on me in my home land
Gloria sent me pictures of my boy
Got my pills 'gainst mosquito death
My buddy's breathing his dyin' breath
Oh God please won't you help me make it through
Here they come to snuff the rooster, oh yeah
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain't gonna die
No, no, no oh, you know he ain't gonna die
Eternity
This version is fucking outstanding.
Holly shit!
NOOooOOooooo Nooo NOOooo
So awesome I can’t stand it
Aposto que foi o Alek q fez o vídeo de fundo!

All rise for the American National anthem
this Version Has Kurt Cobain Mad Season, on Back Vocal. (Nirvana's Guitar & Vocals.)
@@caleb428 They played Rock In Rio 1993 together. Kurt and Layne did heroin together there as well.
Layne’s voice here is just off the scale. Phenomenal.
Right?
