Plantings Installed at National Aquarium's Tidal Wetland Floating Marsh in Baltimore's Inner Harbor

The National Aquarium Harbor Wetland project is advancing smoothly as it enters a new phase of development!
Starting off as a successful prototype, the now full-scale installation is one step closer to completion. Recently, stakeholders participated in a crucial habitat restoration effort by planting 22,000 grasses and 126 shrubs in the floating wetland tidal marsh. As the project nears the finish line, the Harbor Wetland will promote the restoration of the Baltimore Inner Harbor by attracting native species, improving water quality, and providing visitors with a unique perspective of the salt marsh habitat that is critical to the health of the Chesapeake Bay’s ecosystem.
