    Trying to absorb all the information. Showing g how yoh made a warm color visually helped. I hope I can retain it. Love your tutorials some are successful and on others parts are a d other parts are not but it's all learning so I keep going. I'm hoping when I reach 80 in tell years I will paint t beautifully.

    I haven’t quite gotten the warm and cool color concept, UNTIL NOW! You have helped my understanding of playing off of those tones better than anyone. Thanks David.

      Thank you Janie. I used to never paint warm cools, only intensity and value. Now I use it more than anything. Adds great interest.

    Thanks David! You are such an amazing artist and truly one of my favorite people! I know this has been something I’ve struggled with through my entire years of painting. And not just warm and cool colors, but my biggest problem is knowing WHICH colors to use to achieve the color you need. I usually spend more time mixing and failing in color choices than I do actually getting to paint, and when you don’t get a lot of spare time to spend doing it, it makes it quite frustrating. You always give me hope and are a well of knowledge! We all appreciate you!

    Hello David,
    Every time I think "Now, this one's the best yet," you outdo yourself. Your palette mixing demonstrations translate this abstract concept for us so effectively. Color theory is the ignition key that's helping me to begin to drive the proverbial car by myself. I found this to be true after I watched "Harmony of Colors How to Paint a Rose." I had been working on a rose painting, and then after I watched that video, I was able to go back to the painting and, for the first time ever, make some decisions about color that I wouldn't have before. This "Part 1" of the Snowy Owl lesson is fascinating. Thank you so much for teaching us. (By the way, I love the longer lessons.) I'm getting ready to watch "Part 2," which was published 4 hours ago. Yay! Best wishes to you and yours. JV

    This is absolutely true about painting in temperature. There are people who says it doesn’t matter so much with acrylics because it’s made of plastic but. So, thanks for explaining it to those who didn’t know it ❤

    Just when I think, "I'm learning so much from you," you go and blow my mind! I'm still watching, but I had to tell you, thank you ,thank you! You have influenced me and taught me so much in all my paintings. You have definitely made me a better artist. Thank you! I'm going to pray that your eyes are OK and I hope it's just allergies. They seem to be getting more irritated. It's none of my business, I just wanted you to know I'm praying for you.😊

    It's honestly insane how differently I see colours now that I've watched this video.
    I now understand why when I paint skintones everything feels off and flat; I was never differentiating the tones between warm and cool. I just tried to rely on shadows an highlights for depth, and now I know better!
    Thanks so much for this! The fact that you give us such thorough lessons for free is honestly mind-blowing and I'll forever be grateful for your guidance!

    I could listen to color theory all day long. I think the multiple video solution is the way to go. Then those who don't want to bother with color theory can skip over that portion. They might find themselves coming back to it someday and be glad it's there.

    Thank u so much for all teaching that u do in your videos ! I just started painting like 2 years ago and everyone wants to let u paint with them but they don’t teach you how to be a artist and paint anything like u. Thank you so much it means so much . Also is Goldens open acrylics similar in characteristics to the heritage ones?thank u

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Thank you very much. No Golden is not similar to Heritage. Golden has a specific performance that is great but does not work the same as Heritage. You can use it for some of the techniques I show here on the channel, but for the more "acrylic" ones it will not work the same. They are a great company though and make a great paint. Thanks!

    Love your explanations David! So, in color theory, which would be on the coolest side, Pthalo blue (green shade or red shade?) something I’ve always wondered about. Some manufacturers and some directions in painting require red shade or green shade and it’s confusing to know which of those two would be the coolest. My guess is green shade would be coolest

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Overall you are correct Matthew. As a paint system designer we have 7 different variations of the Phthalo Blue we could use, green or red shade. In the system there is Chemical Index name which we show Ie PG7. There is also a 5 digit number after that which we don't show. That is the chemical index number. It is secret...LOL. So there could be variations but overall green shade like in Ultramarine would appear cooler. You are correct. Well done my friend!
