The 297 is a nice route that is operated by Metroline Travel using MCV Evoseti's, Gemini 2 B9TL's & Gemini 3 B5LH's from Perivale [PV] Garage. The route links Willesden, Neasden, Wembley, Alperton, Perivale, West Ealing & Ealing. The weather was extremely hot, but thankfully my camera did not overheat. The driver went too fast past a speed bump along Ealing Road. Which resulted in him slowing down. Also, at Perivale, a Metroline Enviro200MMC went through red light lol.
The route is meant to get Wright Electroliners [WDE] types. It's good that 297 is getting new buses because it is a route that Metroline neglects too often in terms of allocation; as all types of vehicles use the 297. It's not a bad thing though, but yeah.
The route used to have East Lancs Optare Olympus bodied Scania N230UDs, but these were withdrawn in 2019. The route was operated by Perivale West [PA], but the garage sadly shut down last year. This resulted in the route moving to Perivale East [PV]. Apologies on the title spelling of "Ealing Broadway," TH-cam tends to not allow titles over 100 characters.
The route is not operated by Willesden [AC] Garage, but it stands inside the garage; although it's not the allocated garage (seen in the video). This is why it is very important for Metroline to keep this route because just like the N18, the buses used to go inside Harrow Weald [HD] Bus Garage when they terminated. But now because the N18 is with RATP, drivers now have to drive an extra 2 bus stops turn around the (A409/A410) roundabout and come down High Road costing the drivers at least 2 minutes. Then they literally park on the yellow line lol outside KFC & LIDL.
