    James, if you able to cap off your 4 " bottom drain mains and fill them with water it will prevent buoyancy and further help prevent any movement when setting the base.

    My opinion 6x1 is ample ballest to sand. (its not engineered Drawings) 3x1 is a waste of materials. (Cement the most harmful 1 ton made is 1 ton carbonmaocid) 🤔
    James the cleaner is a acetone based. It cleans and gives u very good adeason. Don't forget don't breath in it damages your brain cells lol. I love it.

    Have you considered an option to purge your bottom drains? You will be surprised with can build up in the pipes even with a drum filter. Looking great, can't wait till the next installment.

  • @turtlehopper81
    @turtlehopper81 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    just a recommendation. it's a good practice to install a 4 in conduit pipe to put the electric, gas, water pipes inside of it instead of cementing directly on them, that way you have a large conduit to pull things to the filter house in the future and able to replace/upgrade if need too.

  • @markhilden1254
    @markhilden1254 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    James if your going to bring the services into the filter house up through the floor it would be good practice to put them in a duct and not concrete directly around them and I would recommend putting a polythene membrane down below the concrete, you don’t want the soil suck all the water out of the concrete before it sets naturally.
    Carry on with the vids I look forward to them each week👍

  • @MikeZak101
    @MikeZak101 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    should put t pieces instead of 90's when going to the drums and bring the pipes after the t pieces up passed the pond level so you can jet the drain lines as you won't be able to purge the drains with a drum

    • @inazumakoi
      @inazumakoi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think on that length of pipe run it won’t be an issue - you can purge into the drum also just by shutting the 4” for a few moments, but yeah ideally you should have a purge on both drain lines.

    • @MikeZak101
      @MikeZak101 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    James you did not test the bottom drains for leaks after glueing them together as it would be bad if they leaked on a joint.

    • @JamesTHEKOIwhisperer123
      @JamesTHEKOIwhisperer123  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fingers x then what would you have done to test ? Filing them with water don’t work
      It’s the wait of water in the pond that makes them leak but I haven’t got a pressure test kit so I put shit loads of glue on

  • @bernardodejong520
    @bernardodejong520 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s been said a couple of times but fill those drains with water before pouring the concrete. The drains and pipes will float if you don’t. Don’t underestimate the power of air we al have pushed a ball under in a pool and that’s just a little bit of air 😉

  • @daveparry100

    james are you placing a membrane in before the Base concrete goes in ?

    • @martynashwood881
      @martynashwood881 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't think he will need to as he is fiber glassing the pond, and that ground is rock solid not sure he needs gravel under the concrete either.
