Socks are usually considered as "not that essential" in your kit, but socks can really make or break your performance. In this video we'll show you exactly why that is the case and why you should care for your sock selection when it comes to your footwear in general. I don't 100% agree with that. I would much rather have a good pair of boots with a crappy pair of socks then the best socks in the world with a crappy pair of boots.
Glad merino wool is getting more attention. Best material for hiking and military stuff. Being part time army I learned the hard way with cotton socks 😂

"Darn Tough", in my opinion, are the best socks, and they come with a lifetime warranty replacement. Get a hole worn into one, take it to any store which carries them and simply exchange them for a new pair.
You shouldn't get any holes in your socks in the first place. Honestly, we've never been for all those "lifetime warranty" policies. It's more like a way to convince people and sell more rather than ensuring quality. But that's just my overall opinion with experience in the industry, if they serve you good that's all you need. @@ReconBrothers I honestly haven't seen to many socks which come with a lifetime warranty.
In the past, I've always purchased Carhartt wool socks which aren't cheap, and I've averaged about 2-3 years of wearing them year round before a hole would develop, and I was always under the impression that Carhartt was a quality brand.
However, I have to admit, now that I've been wearing these "Darn Tough" wool socks, the Carhartt brand is garbage in comparison. The "Darn Tough" wool socks are nice and snug (unlike the Carhartt brand which became loose in a short amount of time), they don't drift down (like the Carhartt brand always did), and I have no doubts the "Darn Tough" wool socks will work for years. "Darn Tough" wool socks are quality, and I have no doubts they are just what their name says, "Darn Tough".
However, no sock is immune to wearing out and developing holes, and that's why I opted for "Darn Tough" this time around, and I have no regrets.
If there are any socks out their guaranteed to never wear out and get a hole, I'd love to be a tester for that claim.

Can you use uphillsport contact socks with lowa zephyr mid shoes, or are them too short?
They work.
Darn tough for regular and summer use, Thorlo mcb combat socks or thorlo ectreme cold mountaineering for the cold weather or combat boots.
