I fucking love how Ji-yeong’s sacrifice wasn’t for nothing even though Sae-byeok died. Sae-byeok gained a little bit of faith in humanity back because of her and seeing Gi-hun losing his and giving in to the game, is what makes her save him from that darkness at least at that moment. Showing how much influence we can have on each other and events without physically being there is, to me, just beautifully realistic.
Something i didn't fully realize when first watching it - But i think is important to understand now... Sang-woo didn't kill Sae-byeok just to finish her off to have less people.... she had said she wanted to "go home".... Her and Gi-hun could have easily voted to leave the games, 2v1 being the majority of players. Sang-woo we know was awake hearing this and killed her to prevent a vote so he could finish the game. It wasn't a strategy to have less players, but just so that they couldn't bail.
He’s also in Red 2, Terminator Genisys, and the 2016 remake of The Magnificent Seven. Really is one of the more prolific Korean actors in Hollywood, Lee Byung Hun.
Something you guys might not have noticed is that the games they played throughout the entire show were on the walls of the room the entire time. It's a lot easier to see it this episode because all the bunk beds are gone
I almost fell of my chair when I saw Lee Byung Hun, from Mr. Sunshine, as the Front Man. Put two big names of korean cinematography was so smart! At least for kdrama fans
I had a feeling it was him since episode 1 but I wasn’t sure until episode 2. I’ve seen a lot of movies but also two shows with him in it, so it was easy for me to recognize his voice whether it was in Korean or English and with a distorted voice.

Normally you wouldn't want to take that shard out, but she knew she couldn't hide it for long and that would *definitely* be used against her in the next game (any touch to that area would completely knock her out immediately) so she took it out because if she could live through the night maybe she could keep hiding it during the game and if they were none the wiser depending on the game she hoped she could make it out alive. But we all knew she wouldn't make it anyway....

That's what's we say to people who are on the verge of death (that we are trying to save). She also had no real home to go back to.

i dont think the detective is dead, as long as no dead body shown then its high possible that he is alive, after calling for help maybe they will be fast enough to find him before he die he did call for backup. i also dont think the front man wanted to kill his brother, the fact that he got a flashback of his brother says it all that he is feeling guilty, lets also not forget he gave his kidney to his brother its a sign that they were so close and had a great relationship, the fact that the detective risked his life to search his brother too show that their relationship is good. i want to talk about more signs that show how the front man tried to protect his brother, the most obvious sign is that he didnt shoot him on his head ,shot his shoulder which is not direct kill then let him fall in the water and did not finish him off ,he could simply shot him on his head, the fact that he also told the other workers 'to bring him alive" he could have told them to kill him.i think he wanted to take his brother with him but when the detective shook his head as a "no" he didnt have a choice then, he showed his face and his brother got the evidences he cant let him go. i think the season 2 will probably be about the story of the front man, the guy one who recrute the players too, and the winner of the game trying to bring squid game operators down with the help of the detective ,another game of squid game will happen too so i guess we will see other players too ,thats what i think will happen

When the cigarette lady asked how much the prize money would be after they completed all the games, the guard said it's going to be 45.5 billion. It's already implied that 455 people had to be eliminated eventually, leaving only one winner in the end.
They actually said that 45.5 billion was the maximum that they could win. However that scene when the cop saw the list of winners, each year only had 1 winner, so that would still apply to the viewers if they catched that, that there would still only be 1 winner, and how the tug of war and marbles game were designed to cut the number of players in half, and the marble being designed for players to kill off their most trusted fellow players, to maybe discourage them from wanting to vote to end the game due to them being so attached to their partner, and especially in the case of players 69 and 70, if they were literally family, so they feel that their deaths were not for nothing. And then the glass bridge that clearly was designed to kill as many players as possible and the vips betting on the players, all the hints are there for only 1 person to win. The whole "more money for more players killed" was simply a illusion to hide the fact that only 1 person could win, cause for certain most of the players would want to leave if they knew there could only be 1 winner, and also that more then 1 winner could make it more likely for the police to believe the story should they all snitch.
Finally some one kind of recognize my boy Lee Byung Hun, it always get me how nobody recognized Storm Shadow from G.I. Joe and the T-1000 from Terminator Genesis!
Notice how the triangle table, the circle floor and the square room represented the shapes that was shown over and over again in the Game logo. This whole game was set up to end with three before whittling down to two and then a final winner.

you should rewatch episode 2 again. they foreshadowed how each the main players die other great korean series, My Name, Kingdom, Extracurricular, Hellbound, Sweet Home, and if you guys are into romance comedy, Hometown Cha Cha Cha. which the subreddit discussion were up to thousand comments for each episodes released
Not taking stuff out only really applies of you can minimize movement or immobilize. Otherwise a sharp objects will do more damage as you move around. No real win there but it's going to hurt less with it not stabbing her every move she makes.
There is no need to be discussing whether multiple people can win, because the rules clearly say that whoever makes it trough the 6 games will win, so that clearly allows possibility of multiple winners. But I also think that Sang-woo is the smartest of all contestants and he can read between the lines and deduce that the game makers will try to force single winner if possible by choice of the games, giving everyone knives etc. The game with the bridge was clearly done to cull the numbers, because you could basically guarantee by virtue of probability that no more then few people will survive.

They're running on little sleep, constant paranoia, light rations, emotional trauma - all that does a number on critical thinking. The whole "multiple winners" myth is also an allegory on capitalist society, that we're led to believe we can all become filthy rich if we work hard but it's actually luck, connections, or ruthless behavior gets you far. And we just go along with it like the players do because of that hope.
Sang woo is my favourite character in this show, #2 is Sae byok, but all reactors hate him after what he did in ep 6, but Ji yeong did exactly the same
He was also my favorite tbh. Clearly he's been shady his whole life and not as wise in the grand scheme of life. But his clear motive and focus, pragmatism, along with intelligence and very hidden guilt regarding his mom made him great to watch. And in many ways he got the other members of the main cast this far. It's a lot of ups and downs which I love.
Episode 2 they shows us how they'll all end- Long haired man jumped bridge in water to run from casino guys, he died falling from bridge, this girl put knife on throat of the immigration agent, her throat with slit this episode, Ali faced betrayal by boss, and now by Sang woo, And Sangwoo tried to kill himself in bathtub, he killed himself in squid game.
