In practice, two portfolios, Globally spread, expectation is secure rising 3.9% only the 80% British portfolio is 4 to 4.7% actual:- 2x mainly Investment trusts. 1 x mainly funds. That RL select M fund is still motoring on, pity it closed to new savings subscriptions. Good video, Thanks. 😊
Gosh only just over 5%? FWIW I avoid dividend ETFs get an easy 10% yield (and often a lot higher) and just sell enough ETFs to leave the Capital intact after allowing for inflation. I cannot understand the attraction of dividends.
If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you...prevent inflation
Here's a question. I buy a share for £1, it yields 10p. The share price drops 20p, but I get a 10p dividend. I've lost money. Surely share price appreciation is better than divis? DEC is a case in point.

Stuff like hicl and inpp is ok. I want to see if the clearbridge fund can outperform them. Some stuff out there has too much debt behind it, other stuff has long term contracts that might not be renewed and finally a lot of non-equity investments are difficult to understand with the information about them coming directly or indirectly from the fund itself.
Has anyone on here who was selling down Global fund between 2007 -2013 how did you get around that without having a dividend stream ? did you keep 6 years of cash which would lose out to inflation ?

An ETF you looked at a while ago, TDGB, is also worth a mention . A 5% yield and decent capital growth.
Yes but people said there was withholding tax on the dividend. I haven't been able to verify though

Yes the INPP I included seems good, it's not gone south, and lots of upside potential, good and rising dividends.....
