7 years later I'm just realizing that Onshape has an Android app, and what's more it's actually quite good. It's pretty good for simpler parts and might be all you need. Although for anything more complicated, you might be able to start out on the mobile app, but then refine and extend on the full web-based app. Like working with a lot of features gets harder on mobile. Working with tables and variables also not as good. Also you still can't create a mechanical drawing on mobile. But then once you do have even a complicated model you can go in and work on little tweaks with the mobile. Like I can pick up the tablet in bed and make little tweaks to models with my stylus. That's pretty sweet.
@HeavyJohnny I'm convinced we're not using the same app as the video. There's very little to work with on the mobile version and I can barely draw lines let alone extrude

@@i8764theKevassitant the iOS menus options are different from what’s depicted in the video. It’s not evident but if you click on the icons to pull up a sketch all the tools are shown in submenus. It’s a very poor UI it’s clunky. The iOS app is more of a gimmick I ended up just using the PC
For some reason i always have only have one tool (the current) in the toolbar, even tho i use an Tablet in landscape mode. Changing the app language (without changing the Android tablets language) would be cool as well.
Hi! I am a teacher of Design and I am making instructional videos for my students using Onshape on the iPad. How do you show the orange marks on screen indicating gestures with your fingers?
Whatever screen recorder you use should have an option to "capture" those gestures. I used AZ Screen Recorder on my mobile which has that option, I believe QuickTime also offers this.
Me acabo de enterar de onshape, gracias por hacer del mundo un lugar menos cruel :3 en cuanto tenga un dispositivo decente o una tablet bonita voy a donar a su aplicación
Required? No. Necessary...well, thats up your own personal experience. This might help: www.onshape.com/en/resource-center/articles/ipad-cad-enhance-productivity-and-creativity
Please update the iPadOS app to show the tools along the top as you show in this video. Having to reveal the tools everytime you are doing a repetitive task is time consuming and very annoying.
Just so everyone knows I spent 10 hours trying to build threads tangent lines to diameters the app is extremely limited compared to the desktop bit complex parts can be made if your willing to extrude and sketch in a disorganised manner
In part tree, hit the 3 dot button beside the part which you want to change color, then hit "Appearence", change the RBG value until you find the color you want.

I don't have a dimensions icon, at all.

How did you assign the tool bar to the top menu area?
I use onshape both on pc and on my ipad, and I was just wondering how did you get the tool bar to show up on the ipad interface?
Hi Kris, when you tap on either the sketch icon or the 3D shape icon it reveals the full toolbar!
@@OnshapeInc’m in the parts studio with my sketch selected and I don’t see ether icon. Please help, I’m struggling here 😅I need the tool bar.

You'll find your answer here: cad.onshape.com/help/Content/material_library.htm?Highlight=material
Is this the full version of onshape or free
Hi Vinny - Free users have access to the mobile version. Hope this helps!
How do I copy and paste
Generally speaking control/command-C and control/command-V, but that doesn't always work. Can you provide more detail on what you're trying to do?
It's free??
The mobile app, yes. Onshape, typically no, but there is a free option (all files must be public).
