    Pandemic changed a lot the office market. It is slowly recovering but many people work part time or full time online. Working from home is not always desirable. That creates a need of a coworking space. Tje idea is not bad necessarily. The question is; is the business financially sound ? And how to value the business ?

    • @DarkModeDigest
      @DarkModeDigest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, the concept of WeWork is a great idea. There are plenty of coworking spaces out there. I personally would use one if I were a solopreneur or freelancer. It's a matter of if they can develop a sustainable business model that actually turns profits. They sold a ton of bs early on to landlords and didn't worry about costs that eventually ballooned up and are coming back to haunt them now.

    Serving beer at work is really dumb. Sure you can open the tap only on fridays after 3pm but in a traditional company for team building, not a shared space of random people.
    The whole silicon valley vibe is super lame now

    • @DarkModeDigest
      @DarkModeDigest  ปีที่แล้ว

      companies do what they can to keep workers hooked and staying at the office. It is kind of nice to have it after work on a thurs or fri with some colleagues though.

    • @robbylebotha
      @robbylebotha ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DarkModeDigest sure with colleagues, but in a shared space, it basically just a tavern. A bunch of people getting sauced with no underlying work dynamics setting boundaries or reasons to respect each other.... recipe for disaster.
      There is a reason you don't work sitting on the couch, rather you have a study area or small office in the home. There needs to be be a separation. Can't be very productive in a shared office space with people drinking beer and actual dogs running around. Sounds wonderful on paper, maybe even for a week, but soon enough you'll see why you have to have seperate environments for purposes.

    • @DarkModeDigest
      @DarkModeDigest  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robbylebotha not everyone gets sauced and disrespects each other. In fact, most of the time people don't. But I hear you on having a good work/life boundary. Google had popularized Silicon Valley's "work hard, play hard" culture. I think it's died down a lot. WeWork def embodied the play culture too much and look where they are now...

    Adam Neumann is a con-man, no company he's ever started has become profitable. You will only benefit going into business with him, if you're an early investor and cash out. But there are limited Masayoshi Son's in the world, in term of money and technology challenged to be blind that WeWork is a real estate company.
