Hawick - the largest town in the Scottish Borders with a small village mentality. I had the misfortune to have lived there for almost 3 years and couldn`t wait to leave. Unless, you`re born there or have relatives who live there do not even consider moving there, you`ll never be accepted, even those who`ve been there over 30 years are still treated as incomers. The town is full of drunks and junkies with a high street full of pubs, bookies, hairdressers and charity shops. Not exactly an up-market town. Nice enough for a day trip but, not to live there.
@@digdees I didn`t search for it, it just happened to be there and as the singer sang proudly of this hell hole i thought i`d give my perspective in a more realistic way.
@@andyhughes5885 Likely story, for it to ‘just be there’ you must have had some cookies in your browser that made You Tube think you would want to view the video, probably from watching other Hawick related videos.
@@digdees I was looking for street cams as i`d been viewing the volcano in Iceland and i know there`s a street cam in Edinburgh and i also remembered there used to be one on the wall above the jewelers opp., the horse. In fact, the day i arrived in Hawick was the day it was given the accolade for Burnfoot being the worst Housing scheme in Britain.
Great stuff man ! :) really enjoyed seeing this.
Hawick is the best place to live so much history
Its far from the best place, its not a bad place to live and it definitely has a lot of history, punching well above its weight
@@digdees got to admit there is bad folk but some mean no harm unless its my sister ex
@@angelcarr4032 Bad folk everywhere, sadly most of the bad folk now living in Hawick have no connection to the town

@Ramming Speed Think everywhere has bams - big and small. Midges not a problem in Hawick, they prefer to infest Gala due to the smell...
As a Teri I do miss the old town, moved away at 18 and only been back a handful of times in 25ish years, looks like it has changed a bit.
