    I am playing similar deck myself. What I can say is:
    -9x Freya is an overkill, I play 6x. Thanks to Dragoon Backup you do not have the slightest problem to trigger Freya 2x per game (even per round) and to tell the truth it is really enough. I would keep the bi-color ones as they can give you Lightning Crystal when you are in tight spot.
    -Kain 2-104R works better for me. He is annoying for opponent as his STR Pump is unconditional and it make's him a target in early game. What is more STR boost is essential if we want to think about winning with rush deck.
    -Now there is a solid Ricard backup (19-084R)
    -someone mentioned here Aranea 18-137S. She is a beast. Open your round with her in mid/late-game, clean up with Freya nuke and only super lucky oponent's EX burst can save him/her.
    What you said about gameplay is 100% true. This is not a swarm/rush. The longer the game last the more tools you have to bend it to your favor. Unfortunately there is Achilles' heel here. Rush deck. If you want to start slow then rush deck will murder you. Final Fantasy 13 will be over with you by R3 and even Shinra deck (Roche, Rufus, Tseng -> Turk in R1 are almost impossible to be dealt with) will squeeze the life out of you. There is no solid blocker in this deck you can afford early in the game (except 6-105C, but he needs support to shine, therefore I do not consider him a good early-blocker) that can keep you alive long enough for you to start utilizing Freya and sacrificing your forwards in order to slow up game is not a way forward.
    This deck needs wide board in order to shine.
    Maybe you have some advice for some Ligthning Auto Ability Cancel? I would die for a backup canceling A-A in lightning, not to mention Lightning version of Amateratsu.

      Really nice to hear the perspective of a seasoned Dragoon player.
      Personally I agree with the Aranea comment, she's incredible.
      Will have a think about how I'd build the deck in Opus 19, but I strongly suspect the answer is "47 Dragoons, 3 Alus", and just hope you don't play vs FF13...

    • @xq1234wzts
      @xq1234wzts ปีที่แล้ว

      I will have to update myself regarding FF13 ( lightning/fire). As a matter od fact that is not as bad machup as with Shinra. Ixion devastates FF13 and can be searched by Ricard which makes it quite consistent counter. If you have Ixion in opening hand you should be good against FF13. Goal is to not let them draw cards with Lightning.
      What I said about Opus 2 Kain is even more important as Freya is the only target for Brynhild and that summon is common in FF13 decks.
      I would also point out that when you build your backups, Barbara is a game changer. Alus allows you to use your backups solely for her power pump and that can be something. Doing +5k power each round to one character have the potential to block your opponent advance and forfeit their summons.

    I've honestly thought about meming in Syldra into the deck. We've always had category 5 dragoons but none of them felt worth having until we got the lightning backup over the wind one. Syldra in dragoons is basically search 3 backups and adds more ways of getting Alus by the means of getting Sara. You could honestly probably go away from Selkie in that avenue and keep up the dragoon count while also bolstering your water cards for Sara.

    • @YunaYoungTeam
      @YunaYoungTeam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Syldra's always going to be nuts, isn't it?
      Finding Dragoon and Sara is a helluva strong pile; I just wonder how much more Water would need to be added to reliably support playing Syldra up front, and Sara that turn or the turn after. Will try and do some maths, but it's definitely going to cut into the Alus hit rate.

    Great video and greetings from Puerto Rico. I think the lightning/wind version has some good options as well. I would really like your opinion on that one.

      Greetings back to you from Scotland! How nice to know our videos are being watched so far away! ☺
      I love Lightning/Wind in general; a very cool combination. Haven't played much of it in Dragoons, though, because I found it hard to justify enough Wind cards ro reliably play the Dragoon Backup, and enough Crystals for O15 Kain, without seriously compromising our Dragoon density.
      Overall I liked Water more just because of how well it finds Alus. :P

      MadgersMarket and CardCavern are excellent. I use CardMarket a fair bit too for higher-end things.

    I'd rather Max out the burmecia because there's more chance of getting a water and or water/lightning Freya than a sara to use for water cp using selkie. Might aswell use burmecia cos it gets a dragoon AND freyas

    • @YunaYoungTeam
      @YunaYoungTeam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good call, and adding EXes never hurts!
      I just like how much Selkie filters us towards a Sara, though - even in the 67% chance you hit a Freya, you can guarantee you're that many cards closer to Sara even if you don't land on her.

    • @tsundre
      @tsundre 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YunaYoungTeam that's true and the lack of search guarantees the order. Have you thought of using pieuje to get alus? I haven't been brave enough to try

    • @YunaYoungTeam
      @YunaYoungTeam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tsundre Yuck! I forgot Pieuje existed.
      Functionally it's the same as Sara, I guess, a 4CP in our scarer element. I think I'd rather have a Backup most of the time than whatever he does. :D

      @@YunaYoungTeam hahajja :D traditionally in deckbuilding ye that's what I'd do. But if I'm just using the Sara to get Alus and I want to have a more secure Freya special by being able to have more dragoon backups on field and not have Sara take up that space

    Happy to see Dragoons getting the love they deserve this opus. The new backup and Hooded Man are the cards Dragoons needed to raise their tier seat imo. And I really have been loving Hooded Man in the deck. I agree it eats into the dragoon count a little bit, but I'm still running 38 which gives a 76% with Alus effect. It is so easy to get to 4 backups and it feels amazing to get a hastey 8k out for -CP.
    Other difference that I did was I upped the water count just a bit to help with getting Sara out more consistently. I agree with you that running Sara is fantastic and basically running 6 Alus. But it feels bad to draw Sara turn 1 and not be able to pay for her. Running 12 water cards total has been a consistent sweet spot for me. The extra 3 water cards in the form of Brahne is also nice for exburst and getting to the reveal 4 dragoon just for taking a point of damage while setting up.
