I was a 2W1X1 in the Air Force (weapons systems specialist) and my main focus was F-16's but was trained on all aircraft for my 5 level. I wanted to inform everyone on many things that you were talking about but did not know for sure or provided inaccurate information pertaining to the A-10 in general. The A-10 is equipped with the GAU-8 30MM Gatling gun. The barrels are 7.5ft long, not the entire length of the A-10. There are 7 barrels total. It routinely has a capacity of 1150 rounds and has 2 fire rates; 2100 rounds per minute or 3900 rpm. It is the primary weapon of the A-10 but it is also equipped with many under wing munitions to support air to ground operations, it is the superior ground support aircraft, a flying tank basically.(Pilots are trained to fire the gun in 1 and 2 second bursts because of the heavy recoil. If fired longer, the recoil is so strong that it can stall the aircraft in flight and cause it to crash) The comment about the Blue Angels being superior to the Thunderbirds is also false and only difference is what your role is in combat. The F-16 is the superior dog fighting aircraft and air to air combat but can also be very effective in air to ground.

The aircraft you asked about is a V-22 Ospray. It's awesome it can take off like a helicopter and then pivot its props to become a fixed wing aircraft. The A-10 is amazing it's just like a flying gatling gun the GAU-8 is just masssssiivvvveeee. The US has some really cool aircraft but most of them never do a display over here in the UK :(. You guys are awesome keep up the good work :D
I had a scary coincidence too, two nights ago I had a nightmare where my cat died, yesterday he went missing, and today when I got home my dad told me that a vet had found him lying on the road, he had been hit and killed by a car. I love and miss him so much. The worst thing about it is he wasn't even two years old :( . You guys are lucky you have Nylah, I hope you treasure her as much as possible and all the time. The A-10 is built around a 40mm gatling gun, and it is a great plane built for air to ground combat because that gun is pretty much a tank and building buster. It can fire its gun from so far and it fires so fast that sometimes the rounds will hit the target before you even hear the gun going off and if you are the target of that gun then you are dead unless the pilot misses. Also look up in the search bar A-10 Close call to get an idea of how dangerous that plane is.

It was designed by the United States Air Force, specifically, its patent holder, Boeing, to combine the vertical take-off and hover capability of the helicopter with the long-range travel and high speeds of a conventional airplane. It's used widely by the Marines to move paratroopers.
And the "gatling gun" in the a-10, is actually the GAU-8, if they put 2 of them on it and fire it for more than 20 seconds, the plane will slow down, stop, and travel backwards.

A-10 gatling gun is called a GAU-8 avenger gatling gun. Fires 30mm rounds between 3500 to 4000 rounds per minute. Out of 6, 12 foot long barrels. Has to shoot in a few second sperts or it will stall
