    I loved watching your organization of all the grains, coffee, snacks etc. Very good! I still have my rice in it's bag, and a 25 lb bag of flour too. I am going to have to get the white buckets and gamma lids. Thank you for showing the process, and then keeping out what you are going to use. My pantry has the flour in it, and some in another container. Gotta get organized like you are. Thank you so much!

      Ohhh it’s so yummy fresh!! More of a sweet flavor. It also maintains more nutrition when milled and used fresh. Wheat berries can last 50’years if stored correctly. However flour have a very short shelf life- typically 6 months or less.

    Sue Becker's video talk (on Grains & Grit channel) called "Do Not Eat the Bread of Idleness" is where I learned the health/nutritional reasons for freshly milling one's own whole-grain flour. Much of the nutrition is lost (Vit. E, especially) when the flour sits unused for more than a few days. I highly recommend this talk!! Great video, Katie. :)

    Again, this is so helpful! I pick up my 2 gallon buckets this week and am anxious to get all organized. Thanks for showing what size bags fit into your buckets!

    • @RowesRising
      @RowesRising  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching!! We haven’t bought bread from the store in a very long time. We bought some bread when we visited Virginia in January. Our kids didn’t like it much- they are spoiled with “moms bread”. Even more so spoiled they prefer homemade sourdough to homemade quick yeasted breads. I even have a bread machine so I can make fresh bread in the garage all summer and not heat the house. 😅 I do buy tortillas- there are a few processed foods we do still buy that I just don’t have the time/energy to make.

    I also loved watching how you organized your food pantry or as you called it your kitchen extension. I call my side room connected to the kitchen the same thing. It’s a mishmash of computer & desk, food pantry and mudroom lol I also have a 25 bag of durum wheat berries, a 25 lb of rice etc that I need to put away! I’ve been collecting all this through several months since I started with Azure. I ask a friend who had a deep freezer if I could put some of my grains in her freezer while they were away for several days. Every time they go away for a couple days I do that and they don’t mind. That is the only way I would have been able to freeze my rice and grains. Always wondered how do people freeze alter grains because I don’t have that type of freezer. This is a tip for anyone that doesn’t have the deep freeze. Ask a friend to store it for you for three days. Sorry that this is so long.

    Good morning Katie. In preparation for something huge happening, keep in mind that you can use ingredients from your pantry to make homemade pepper spray. To make pepper spray with household ingredients: As you add the alcohol, stir constantly until you get a good mixture. Once everything is combined, pour in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and stir. Keep those doors locked and your homemade pepper spray close - always strong and self sufficient and situationally aware. In the meantime, Happy Fourth of July weekend to and best of luck to everyone moving forward and stockpiling through these uncertain times.

      Thank you Linda! Keeping that in mind for the future. I know so many aren’t ready for the real truth and that’s ok! We all come around when it happens to us. What I say about the FVC, CDC, and VAERS is all true and on their websites for you to verify. I don’t speak lies. That’s the truth!
