we had this game at home in germany. my father brought it home when he travelled abroad in 1991. i never new it was from india, and i never knew it was that popular. awesome game, awesome community!
Same here. My aunt and uncle had this game when I was a kid. I never knew how it's called. I enjoyed it very much and always looked forward to playing before going to their house.

I'm English therefore I have never heard of the game until recently due to cultural differences, I grew up with football and marbles etc. I was explaining my ignorance of the game. Does this explain well enough for you? You're correct that being English is nothing special, neither is being any other nationality in particular. Is there a reason behind your snide remark? This page is for people who admire and love this game, keep it that way.

@@アーノルドこうき-c7c I've done research and the powder is boric acid which causes infertility and disease. It seemed like the perfect game until I read that. I think the modern game uses something less dangerous, but still. Why couldn't they just use oil or something?

This is also quite popular in Indonesia especially with the middle-aged men in suburbs. We add ball to the name tho, so we call it Karambol (Carrom-ball)

Fernandes starts second board with 1, then sinks all of them leaving 9 carrommen on the board. Isn't that 1 + 9 + 3 = 13? But the score shows as 12 at end of second board. What am I missing?

At 7:15, the guy says 8 black carrom on the board, but there were actually 9. So with the queen he should have scored 12 points there. So shouldn't the score be 13-0 at this point?

What a dangerous player...full credit to prashant to keep his cool and stay in his elements...in fact prashant showed great respect to louis by not pocketing the queen and donate the board of 3 points...this man could have scored 12 points on prashants break also and it was seemed to be most probable of doing it..congrats both

In the second board when Louis scored a white slam, there were 9 coins on the board so he should have got 12 points instead of 11. Don't know if umpire was sleeping?

As my father always tell he playing this game when he was young and he tell the name of the game is KARAMBOL. Then i know when see this video it was Carrom Ball but i dont know it was right or wrong since there no ball in the game. :D
Many people actually call the game 'Carrom Board'. Karambol seems to have come out of this

Maybe my grandma wanted this game to be more challenging so she taught us striking coin directly which is on the line where you place striker and striking coins which is behind your line is not allowed only way to touch that is strike should be rebounded, Hitting directly to opponent coin to get your coin to hole is not allowed, if you pot your striker or opponent coin to hole you have to place back one of your potted coin on board... Well this gameplay looks easy(of course I'm not good as those professionals but game play is easy).
