Seems like the WTA is doing more here than in the case of Peng Shuai. If we are talking about protecting wta players........

what can WTA do against the chinese government. I think they tried by removing themselves from china that year and asked questions. AO should not have stopped people wearing t shirts asking where PENG SHUAI is

WTF do you want the WTA to do against Peng who is in Communist China. Peng is not here competing. WTA has to improve and whatever happened with Peng Shuai is what they are learning from and not making the same mistakes.

True that being abused can become a heartbreaking habit - but suggesting that Rybakina is not the best person to judge her own coaching situation is condescending in the extreme. Using her situation to prove a point, however important, is a mild form of abuse in its own right.

It’s evident that their relationship is not just coach & player, Elena started with him when she was 18 and Vukov 30, he has been her only coach & probably feels that she needs him, what is worrying is that not only Pam is talking about abuse, also Renae Stubbs told in her podcast than many players told her that she should hear how Vukov talks about Elena to his friends & other coaches. I don’t think this is a conspiracy against Vukov

The simple answer is it’s NOBODY’S business. Not the tabloids WTA other coaches commentators supporters etc… Rybakina has a huge support network if they felt they needed to step in the would have. If it’s true WTA planted ppl in the stands that is a set up that is not evidence of abuse. The biggest abusers here are WTA and their minions. Just leave Elena alone and stop the meddling.

  • @fionah986

Pam Shriver told her story a few years back and I was hoping people would learn from this, and be aware. These young girls heading out on tour with older teams of men, and they always end up in relationships with them. Again and again. We need more female coaches and high profile women choosing a female team.

    • @nt4081
      @nt4081 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

that is not the answer, these girls need to be better educated, they need to learn from the mistakes of others. No one should have to choose FEMALE, there are relationships on tour where the coach or physio is female and they get caught up in that lesbian relationship. The WTA is doing the right thing by having a code of conduct and consequences for violating it. Parents of these young women need to step in and advocate for the young women. Responsibility is lacking , education, and a moral code for the coaches is what's needed. Women like Shriver sharing her story and offering some peer leadership is how they prevent more of this from happening. The answer is certainly not hire more women coaches, male or female, there are people who cross the line and it is not good. Professionalism is key and keeping your love life separate from business is a good motto.

However, the WTA must protect its players and members of the organization. The WTA has an obligation to improve the treatment of players, and they have come a long way from 20 years ago. Imagine, every major organization has policies regarding sexual harassment, disparities, and fraternization, and other issues. Just imagine a lawsuit down the road claiming the WTA did nothing to protect her from an opportunist, abuser, and manipulator who they were aware of , and saw at times being abusive verbally. I am sure the attorney would say, the WTA should have stepped in, even though she is an adult.

Who said there is no evidence? There is a code of conduct as well. The WTa like many businesses and organization have a social responsibility . With the "Me too Movement", sexual harassment, and other issue, the WTA cannot risk letting it go, and then down the road she or someone else is suing because protections are in place for the players and the company r organization did not care to enforce the code of conduct and create a safe, ethical, and positive environment for everyone.

Tennis is such a clown sport in its leadership
From the whining about fans lightly talking, other players “being abusive” on the court, etc
This is the softest sport ever

Rybakina has denied these allegation countless times. Why is this being thrust onto her by people in the media when she’s denied it over and over. Its demeaning and bizarre.

Get over it…female players hook up with their coaches…you can’t designate if the male is the asshole or if the female is making up allegations. WTA is overstepping with this issue. We can’t get details in Sinners doping case in April but we feel like we have the right to know about her private life?

Who cares what you all think. She's not the only player that fires a coach then rehires them. Why are you guys belabouring this. Let it go already.

I think it's very irresponsible to talk about this situation in comparison to things like intimate partner violence unless you will/can speak about the specific alleged issues in their coach-athlete relationship. Otherwise, it leads to further speculation which seems to be what Rybakina herself is trying to avoid.

It seems that Vukov and Elena are a couple and are sleeping together. They probably broke up for a short time, and she had a rough time. The guy had his fun and then went back to his ex.

Speaking of Roddick. USA tennis is looking good. I think Fritz wins Australia and Coco on the female side. Look out for Jack Draper this year as well. Englands best player since Perry. (Male)

I only see Fritz winning if Sinner and Alcaraz get knocked out by other players first, which may happen to one but is unlikely to happen to both. They exploit his weaknesses too much
Coco is a solid prediction imo, its gonna be her or Sablenka I think

...you all gossip about bed matters for now, but I can say one thing in the context of tennis: 1) this year a WOMAN will not be a favorite. 2) and MOST LIKELY her achievements are already behind her....
