He's not exactly a bad person, he's just mislead. The poor dude had his whole life destroyed in the blink of an eye. His parents were killed by a car in front of him and then was taken by Black Swan to experiment with him and turn him into an evolver. He lost his feelings* and his ability to see in colour after the accident. To make things worse, Black Swan didn't stop there and brainwashed him. He learnt that others are there for being studied or used, not loved. That starts to change when he meets MC, but he's struggling to find his way because he's between a sword and a wall. The importance of MC in Lucien's change is seen when she's with the other Lucien, who is still a ruthless person because he never met her. *I've started to suspect that his lack of feelings is more of a PTSD rather than a consequence of BS's doings.
