Not really. I was more of a Nightcrawler and Colossus fan. Specifically Nightcrawler because some religious folks forgot about Kurt's background and didn't expect it to show up in the cartoon.
Rogue did inspire some girls tho. 90s Rogue had that supermodel physique and with muscle, a friend of mind got into bodybuilding because of her, she has a southern accent too 😂

I never read the comics but I am aware that there was a romance between her and Magneto for some reason. Is that what they’re hinting in X-Men ‘97? Is that something that might not be PC? I mean he’s an old man and she’s a woman in her 20s or 30s so it’s not like any rules are being broken, except for maybe the fact that she may be cheating on Gambit. As far as I know, this hasn’t gained any controversy like the Batman and Batgirl relationship in The Killing Joke.
Yes, but it was only in one issue, which isn't canon to the main line X-Men comics. Back then no one really liked that connection and it was retcon'd pretty much.
It is weird that the show puts them together because Rogue did touch Erik before as well as fought against him and the brotherhood. Those involved with X-Men 97 probably forgot just as how they forgot that Bishop went back to his timeline in season 2 to reunite with his sister, Shard and Forge.
except that for batman and batgirl there is no relationship in the comics the killing joke, it's the animated film based on the comics that did anything

It's ridiculous, Rogue touched Magneto in X-Men 1 and X-Men Evolution, and they both had her absorbing his power.
Yes, but sometimes in the comics she does and nothing happens. I don't like it either but it isn't like they're inventing a whole new thing here😅
It's all about the magnetic field, which Magneto activates at will. While it is on, Rogue's attacks do not harm it, but if the field is off, she can cause damage to it.
She was amazing in Evolution. No other xmen adaptation made her so powerful amd most of them make her power look lame except Wolverine and the Xmen

To be fair, her meme butt isn't as much a part of the original series, as this one picture implies. In nearly every other scene her butt is more the size of hers in the '97 version. Even a few seconds before and after that picture.
I prefer the Rogue design from the 90s X-Men cartoon. The 2024 version also uses the same design.
Her face looks much more alive and overall better animated in the classic animated series and spider-man compared to the new one

Was I the only one that was put off with how old Rogue sounds in '97? Like, she sounds more like a southern granma, rather than firtaitious and energetic southern girl. At times her voice gets so raspy old, that I began to wonder if she's of Magneto's age.

Look at the care and detail they gave to the original X-Men animated series, I feel that the art is being lost giving characters less detail and shading they did this in the comics as well which is where I stopped buying them
