I am sorry Jayanth if I haven't mentioned the reason in the video, we need to disable NTP because Grid maintains the time sync between the nodes with the help of service called CTSS (Cluster Time Synchronization Service), if NTP is disabled CTSS will take over the functionality and NTP is on OS level where as CTSS is provided by Grid S/W. NTP will move to observer mode if CTSS is enabled and vice-versa.

I think to the best of my knowledge.. even oracle encourages NTPd over CTSS..🙂
