The best film of the broads that I've ever seen. You have a genuine talent for this sort of production. Great couple and a lovely dog. Keep making these informative films. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you.
Thanks Dave, always appreciate a nice comment! We're off back to the promised land on Saturday for a week, camera batteries on charge as we speak... :)
Youve put a lot of hard work and effort into these videos and i would like to say thank you for sharing your holiday journey through the Broads. The footage and stills are amazing, really capturing the atmosphere of the rivers and surrounding areas. I think ive watched them all now but will just check.. Cheers and look forwards to future ventures. 😊
That was an awsome video! Thanks guys. I sail in Southern Tasmania. No resturants, pubs, icecream vans or even moorings. Just deep forest empty beaches, fishing and continual storm threats between beautiful days. Your boating is so civilised and well .... genteel.... even your animals seem tame and kind (try feeding a possum with some bread in your mouth, instead of one of your ducks, and it would take your face off). Your pubs and icecream seem to extend for as long as our forests and beaches! I love our style but think I seriously need to experience the Norfolk Broads... perhaps on our next trip to the mother country!
Hi John, Just dropping a note to see how you and Linz are keeping. Not seen you on here for a while, and I do still enjoy watching your Broads videos. I suppose like me, you haven't been on a Broads trip in ages. I was due to go there a couple of weeks ago, but with all of what's happening at the moment, it wasn't possible. Anyway, I hope you and Linz are keeping well.
Hi Colin, yes we were booked for a week in April this year, but of course 2020 had other ideas! Hoping to get back out there sometime next year, fingers crossed!
Hi John, Hi Liz, thank you for this re-upload and sorry to hear about what happened. The positive from this is that I can comment again and say, what a fabulous video and I am sure that you had an amazing time. Hope that your dog, Sid, enjoyed it too. Best wishes.
on our way back over breydon we was diverted through the centre section of breydon bridge as the right side was closed off for either bridge repairs or dredging but it was very confusing as we didn't know which section to go through so we went through the centre and there was a big red arrow pointing to the centre
Well done on getting this back up. Reminds me of what a wonderful video you put together. I made a similar cruise, in late April, after picking up my boat in Wroxham.
Thanks John! Annoyingly, now that I've re-uploaded it, the original video seems to have re-appeared. Now I have two copies of the same video on my channel, one with dodgy re-dubbed intro music just because of some copyright problem which TH-cam seem to have decided wasn't a problem after all. Just another day in the life of the internet eh... :)
When’s 2019 coming out? Watched your broads vids over 20 times because they are great vlogs and they aren’t too long I go on the broads a lot so I know what it all is thankyou
hi again we did our first boating holiday and we crossed breydon water on our 2nd day as we did the southern broads first we didn't moor up at Yarmouth as it was packed so we went on to Norwich where we moored up for the night at the pub near the cantley sugar factory for the night and then went to Norwich and stayed for 2 nights whilst at Norwich we went to gt Yarmouth as the station was across the road from the moorings we also moored up at barnes brinkcraft and went on the bure valley railway where I fell asleep on the journey back to wroxham we was pleasantly surprised at all the shops owned by roys we enjoyed our 2 weeks very much except coltishall we enjoyed our overnight stay at st bennetts we are planning on our second adventure but on a bigger boat
we moored up here at rockland and in the same spot you moored up in but we didn't go in the pub because my wife got told that dogs were only allowed outside and although it was hot and sunny we wasn't preparedto eat outside with wasps and midges flying round so I took a walk to the village which was very pleasant ate 2 magnum ice creams and took my wife and dog an ice cream back then we set back off and realised there was 2 ways into rockland broad which I took as one way in and one way out, but now we know dogs are allowed in to the pub we will have a meal there when we next go, after we left rockland st Mary's we went on to Loddon and stayed at the boat yard cant remember the name but it began with P the owner was very helpful he moored us up as it was stern mooring he refuelled us and emptied the tank without any trouble he left the water pipe on for us to fill up early in the morning for our early departure as we was the only ones moored up there amongst his privately owned boats we had a lovely stroll round the village and had a lovely Chinese take away which was from the first Chinese take away in the village
Alas probably not this time. Linz and I actually split up a few weeks ago, and while we're remaining friends (and probably still future boating buddies) it seemed in rather poor taste to put this particular video out given the change of circumstances.
@@djsherz Awe thanks for replying sherz I appreciate it. I want to encourage you, like you my dad took me on the broads as a child, I always wanted to take my wife as an adult but it was a difficult decision to make having being diagnosed with bipolar disorder I was worried about alot of things but finding your youtubes made my mind up showing the ropes and where to visit both of you were brilliant and I regularly return to your videos we have booked again for next year hey I could film our trip and you could edit it ha ha I dont have the tech ability you do. wow your MRS doesn't half produce some wonderful food they make your mouth water just by looking at them ah well weve only got 5 days to go before we go on our first broads adventure
On their Platinum range of boats, I don't think it is. They don't mind on their budget boats though. We try to be as considerate as possible though, for example I bring my own duvet, we keep the cabin well ventilated, and give the boat a good clean down and febreze before we hand her back!

Superb again John & Linz, love watching your boating vids hopefully more to follow! :)
No video this year sherz? 😔
Linz where did you get that toffee apple cider from, is it only available at Ranworth?
watched all again great blog well done guys and not forgetting sid
Thankyou! No doubt there will be more of the same next year... :)
Hi John would a 46ft boat be able to turn round at the Coltishall lock & Dillham Staithe with bow & stern thrusters ?
Probably not - I suspect you'd have to reverse out for quite a way until you reached a wider bit of river, it gets pretty narrow up the far end...
Where are they now havnt seen them for 2 years

We've never made it as far as Norwich by boat yet... one day haha!
Hi when will you be putting 2019 holiday highlights on TH-cam?
where did you get the cider from, and is it a sweet cider or dry as it looked so refreshing and inviting?
how much is it to moor up at Reedham as it looks great there
brilliant video.. loved it..

did you not do a broads holiday this year 2019?
Are you going this year mate ??
Well as long as the country doesn't get shut down by coronavirus, yeah! Booked in for 11th-18th next month, can't wait!
@@djsherz I'm 13th to 17th next month
@@fun4alltv will have to keep an eye out for each other then! We'll be on Western Horizon...
I'm on San salvador
Coltishall lock would a 46ft boat be able to turn round there ?
I think you'd struggle with a boat that size mate, it's a bit tight!

Bit earlier this year, April 13-20th... :)
Somking allows inside the boat,,?
Yep, it's permitted on the cheaper older boats that we hire!
wow your MRS doesn't half produce some wonderful food they make your mouth water just by looking at them ah well weve only got 5 days to go before we go on our first broads adventure
Oh yes, she's quite the chef! Hope you're having fun out there at the moment...
I guess 2019 not happening then 😞😢😢
Wish we could let our Arthur off the lead like syd hes a ex racer
We have to be very careful when and where we let Sid off the lead, he loves people and is everyone's friend, but hates other animals with a passion!
I wouldn't have thought smoking would be allowed on the boat.

Nice video, but you should not be smoking on the boat.
