I would like to acknowledge something very important you pointed out Ashley in this video is not just highlighting the clothing piece, but also taking the time to explain how the clothing piece should ideally fit and why. That is so darn important. I own quite a few Shirt Jackets myself now in different fabrics and style. For some men, they can sit in between sizes, in between a Med and Large for instance of a clothing line. A medium can be too snug if you buttoned your buttons and looks a bit tight and not cool, but if you go one size up a Large size can be way too loose and sleeve arms too long as well the jacket now too long also. I’ve had these problems! What I choose to do was go with the size up the Large and then take it to my tailor and have it more tailored to my particular fit in body with of Jacket, taking in the arms a bit to my length as well shortening the Jacket also to my fit or close to where a Medium jacket size would of fitted. At the tailor shop that adds up quite a bit to make alterations so a jacket fits you better where it matters. And that’s a challenge when your of a size that’s in between sizes and don’t want a jacket you like being too tight or way too loose and long. For me I take the personal aspect of getting my stuff properly tailored and that’s an added challenge to dressing well. But it helps a lot when you get advice on how something should fit and not just to try and wear it. So you know when you try it on where the fit is suppose to be for you.

yeah, I thought so, I bought online overshirt but I think the fit already fit me,
then the fit actually quite loose, and even the long sleeve need to cuff once to fit me.
and the overshirt lenght also a problem, I dont know what's normal and good..
but I think I need tailor that.. being short 5" 4 and 60kg thin, also challenge when buying things. I need to have another solution than go to the physical store and understand details of size of any of other brands, because their sizing was somewhat incomplete
@@ScaryGuyID The overshirt should fit but it shouldn’t be too snug, so a bit loose but not excessively. If you was to say button all your buttons on the overshirt, it should not be like snug on you, but a bit loose. Just a way to check. As well, if you were to wear another layer of shirt, you don’t want an already too snug overshirt. Another thing is almost ever retainer has a different measurement for shirts. That’s something to keep in mind. If you like a particular retailer then only then you really learn their measurements. You may learn what they call a medium is more on large side etc and figure things out that way. If you only buy 1-2 things here and there from lots of different retailers, your going to have a big challenge with clothing sizes that fits you well.

I ~HATE IT~ when fashion gurus say to "size down" on items, in this case, a trucker's jacket. The assumption is that every man has a zero fat percentage and a six-pack going on. I'm not obese by any stretch, but I do have a "pooch belly" that I'm not at all enthused about accentuating. It comes with age (I guess). I'll be danged if I'm going to size down on ANYTHING in that area of my person, well advised or not. I'm sticking with MY size/fit. I still enjoyed the video and it definately gets a "thumbs up" from this Kentucky boy. 👍
Try the suggestion and you'll hopefully see the err of your thought process. The sizing down will help HIDE your pooch belly.
After recently having tried on denim trucker jackets from different brands, the advice to try smaller sizes is valid.
7 out of 8 of the jackets I tried on fit too big for my size, even sizing down, some still felt bulkier than the one in my regular size.
I've stopped paying much attention to sizes and focus on the signs she advises to look for a good fit, such as shoulder line & lengths.
Try your regular size, adjust size until those factors are aligned, and if they don't try a different brand.

Great video but you left out the blazer. While a blazer can be sporty it is distinctly above a sports coat. I’ve seen guys pull it off with well fitted jeans and chinos. Of course the gold or silver buttons can be distracting but it works well in the business environment. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

The only issue with a sportcoat is that every time you wear it, people will constantly ask "why are you so dressed up today?" 🤣
That question bothers me more than any other. I just respond "why do you dress like a slob?"

Ehhh, they're okay, not great. This is why I don't really recommend them. Lots of things going on with their jackets and it detracts from an outfit. I never use them on clients. Yes, they're classic, but just not a big fan.

The bomber jacket looks sooo cheap and like for young boys with open necks, noncovered butts... better a cotton or suede semi-biker jacket. More stylish and more serious.
I ordered 3 Collars & Co shirts and there Is nothing luxurious about them. The collar is cardboard so when you wash it the warping guarantee goes out the window. The material is not good either. Shirts look cheap.

Leather is not bad if you wear it right.
Leather jackets are like Henley's. 70% of the guys I see wearing them absolutely can not pull them off. But nobody has the balls to tell them they need to hit the gym for 3 years and then find a fit where they're wearing the jacket, and the jacket is not wearing them.

Yeah you maybe think that...but they are not pretentious like some of the jackets shown here that will get wet through and end up smelling like wet dog ‽‽..
If you go to a proper mountaineering shop you can get some of the coolest northface designed winter jackets on the market !!..
Plus they keep your dry warm and cool !!..

I don't know, these jackets are primarily made for outdoor activities. I live in a country where it can get really cold but you don't see people walking the streets in synthetic jackets as if they just climbed the Khumbu glacier. When it's cold the chance of precipitation is low and I can just wear a coat. And if it rains the last thing I want is to destroy my down jacket by exposing it to water.

Jackets , I’m not knocking your ideas of fashions, but you don’t want give the impression that people who wear leather jackets have no taste at all. But that’s your personal preference, Leather jackets come in different style , whether your riding a motorcycle ,or the right type leather jacket for the occasion I seen a lot of fashion shows with leather of different types, it really how to put the pieces of wardrobe together

Do you want me to demonstrate the point I'm talking about, or show more ethnic models? Often, they both can't be done at the same time because it's incredibly hard to find images that hit both points. So you're going to have to slightly suspend disbelief unless you're willing to donate your time and help solve this issue (and see how next to impossible it is)?
