  • This tutorial was about fluid flow within a circular tube; you will learn in this video:
    1- How to make a special mesh for the case considered.
    2-How to set up ansys fluent for required calculations.
    3- How to calculate Reynolds number, convection coefficient and Nusselt number.

    Its really commendable and it simplified the method of numerical analysis, especially calculation of Nu and h in Post-processing module. However, I observed the turbulence intensity you calculated is 0.0464 and it should be inputted as %, so it suppose to 4.64, not 0.0464. once more congratulations and thank you for enlightening us.

    can you explain reference values a little bit ? you put 0.5m length as it is the length of turbulent region, bur your entry length is also 0.5, so how would Fluent differentiate in this ?

    I am using Ansys student version 2020
    In the meshing module , I am not able to find relevance , face size and bunch of other options . Is there any way to activate these options ???

    why did u change area and length in refrence values although you selected inlet. im following you as it is but i didnt changes my refrence values and the im getting 94.30 surface heat transfer cofficient instead of 1773 like yours. why u did thta so plz explain

    The CFD wont recognize "Surface Heat Transfer Coefficient" in the equation
    h=areaAve(Surface Heat Transfer Coefficient)@fully_developed
    Is there any solution for this ?

      u didnt add data quantities in run calculation option

      [ Fluent setup>File>Preferences>Genereal>Default format for I/O>Legacy ] worked for me.

    sorry but i saw that you substitution in Dittus equation is wrong the nusselt is 131 not 138 as u said

    Your Reynolds number is coming with unit while it's dimensionless quantity. The equation you're using for Reynolds number you have missed the unit of viscosity , change it to kg/m/s.

      The units hasn’t missed but written in as kg/m*s which is wrong so it has been corrected in the expression at the description of the video. Thanks for noting that.
