Great video. I disassembled mine and the spring that holds the speed/torque switch flung out, and I didn’t know where it was supposed to go back in. As of now (12/21) there aren’t any schematics for this tool online yet. Without your video I would have spent a copious amount of time trying to figure out how to put it back together correctly. Thanks to your video it saved me a ton of time. So thank you, and keep em coming!

It’s more dissection rather than maintenance but very educational thank you

Very helpful video, good Canadian! I live in California. The problem with my 887 is that the yellow plastic handle actually cracked in half! You can buy replacement "shells" for cheap. I used your vid to help me disassemble my 887 and I'm going to try to Gorilla Glue the cracked pieces back together. Gorilla Glue is seriously strong, but if it simply doesn't work, then I'll shell out 20 USD to Amazon and by the OEM shell.... ROCK ON, AYE!!!!

I had the same problem and was frustrated not to find a fix on internet and see a new trigger was $120.00 from Dewalt. I found a simple fix by just removing top case and spraying Electronic cleaner in trigger case where the plunger on trigger goes into. Been working flawlessly for a month.

Thank you for watching and for the tip, I think I’ll give that a try.

The same for me, just sprayed some WD40 on the trigger, speed stable now.

@@gillesbodson5448 Was it any particular kind of WD40 or just the standard stuff. Where exactly did you spray it? Thank you for the tip!

Anywhere that sells genuine Dewalt parts. Just do a google search for Dewalt dcf887 parts

I have the exact same problem with speed variation. I thought that bypassing the speed settings would solve it... it doesn't 🤦‍♂️😂

Good to know. I just use it as is, sometimes it works normally, sometimes it behaves very badly.

Be nice if someone did a custom paint job on a dewalt Impact driver or drill
