One simple way to read the red pointer is to make a circle mask and then filter only the red color. Then it is easy to find its angle and so the measure.
Very interesting project because in many cases it is more cheaper just look and read a existing analog meter instead replace it with a digital one plus the interface to a computer.
One of the reason that you will want to do that is that you live in Romania, and all meters are mechanical, and you want to build yourself an app to keep track and also to give the reading to suppliers so that they would know to bill you....
Hello, I'm curious. From your example, I concluded that I need to manually annotate boxes for each individual digit separately. Is that correct, or is there another option?
Is there a service available where it is possible to connect with the ESp32 camera and set all the parameters, as in the constructor...and it is possible to transfer the data using mqtt thingspeak?😊

Loved your 4 year old video too, finding lines with open CV and Hough, left you a message there. Great video series, Thanks

I always wanted to learn some python and I think this is a perfect set of small project to boost motivation :) Thanks man!
One day I had a idea that it was possible to show the level from a tank using a camara instead a traditional level meter. It was only a ideia.
Go for it. I already did that. The computer controls the water inlet and shut the valve off when the tank is full
Very good video!!!! thanks for share these excellent project
can i have the code?
Super video. I could be great if you could explain how to train a model that could read my analogic meter and the special digit of my meter.

Just one question: with what would you attach the camera to the analog ?
Thanks a lot.
