i laughed, cried and narrowed my brow listening to this excellent story. for it to spur emotion from me, i give it a 10 out of 10. from the author to narrator....well done
This book is great. I have ADHD and find it very hard to read, though I am an avid lover of books I believe my library is at about 2000 books, audio books let me read and keep my nurospicy entertained. Sometimes I find a book I'm not fond of and am stuck having purchased the book. This is a great way to get new readers having found several books I now own this way. I will by buying the series in both physical and digital. Thank you for putting this on TH-cam and letting me find your work.
Only about 2hrs in. But I love the writing, in how straight to the point it is and not overly descriptive. It allows you to create the image of the characters yourself. And each scene advances the story promptly and entertainingly. It also makes for an easier 'listen,' then other audiobooks. I've been looking for a good sci fi audiobook for like 8 months, that wasnt written in the 1950's. Love this one so far.
Love me some sci fi audiobooks. My favorite book was an accidental read. I was in jail and it was on a cart. “The excalibur alternative”. I’ve been hooked ever since.
This is written and read with great verve and humor and has the feel of golden age sci-fi by the likes of H Beam Piper and Murray Leinster -- even a little bit of Larry Niven in there. Excellent job.
That was darn good story and the narrator did a great job. I think it would make a great movie and open up a whole new Galaxy of entertainment not really copying anything else. That is if we only had a movie industry that was worth a damn anymore, so I'll ask, I guess it will have to stay in before. But I didn't really care for the final outcome, I would have liked to see the two get married because they were tired of getting parts shot out of them and leave a quieter fulfilling life and having sexual relations because they figured the robot was always right. And the robot would start a new career writing TV series dramas since he was the world's foremost expert. 👍🏻 😏 ❤️
Great story and Narrator! I usually listen to RC Bray's narration, but I really enjoyed this story. I've listened to it a few times. Then I found Gambit and 1,2,& 3 of same story line. I listen to a lot of books. Mostly SciFi and this ones a winner.
Amazing story, had my attention all the way through and Mr Gorman's narration was absolutely fantastic, one of the best I've ever heard ... more please :)
Excellent work! With the difficulty I have reading, I hope more audiobooks of the series will come out. I really appreciate the effort on such an excellent story. Thank you!
Wow. I just decided to randomly pick an audiobook and happened upon this one without reading anything about what it was. What a treat. I fully enjoyed this story and am on my way to listen to the short story next . That was a great ride and I fully enjoyed every bit of it. Thank you!
Hello Eric, I found your channel a few days ago and this was your first audiobook I listened to. Start to end. Thank you so much for sharing! The story is well written, never boring and virtually always something happening so it really IS hard to take a break :) Good enough to keep me going... straight to your next book. :)
Recently I have been binging on audio-books and started with some Alien franchise, then discovered Undying Mercenaries now waiting on my audible pre-order for the one releasing tomorrow. In the meantime, I stumbled on your book via TH-cam after finishing Star Runner series. So far, I have just completed the Caspian's Fortune, and it is quite good. There is actually a point to the story and narrator is doing magnificent - He sounds like he took care of the book unlike other Sci-Fi audible I sampled. I have always avoided reading books, even though I have a kindle library of the free purchases. Audio-book is something else, a step-forward to actually completing books while performing other task. Thanks for releasing audio-book 1-6 for us.
Ended up grabbing your audiobook 7-9 in audible, hopefully this cheap guy here help with that contribution. Rebeaux should be played by Nathan Fillion and Alice Eve as Evie. Boston Legal guy James Spader as Green. Great book series, and I don't read much and picky. I maybe grabbing the 4 side books in the future, unless audiobook happens.
Well done Eric and ty for the freebie. Others authors used the same tactic and believe me it works I had bought many audiobooks, I don't read anymore, because of it. Good luck .
Am about a quarter the way through and am enjoying it. Cas, the alcoholic protagonist, feels very strange to me, I guess because I drink very little. Think I'm going to like Evie though. Did Cas alter Box to be like his mum? Box does all the driving and helps clean up after him.
Great book. Great narrator. I'm hoping to hear your Infinity's End book 2 soon. I haven't bought books since the paperback days. I used to read endlessly. Now my eyes are going bad, reading books creates too much eye strain these days, and I can putter about without being tied to a book in my hands. (sucks getting old😏) I don't even have a TV set hooked up in the house. No interest in what they call "entertainment" these days. So now I'm discovering modern Sci Fi audiobooks on TH-cam to listen to. Glad I found yours..! Going to go straight to Caspian's Gambit next, but it seems to feature only a 1 hour and 7 minute teaser. Hope someone will post the full length version soon. 😁👍 Thanks Eric, for sharing this novel and making my life easier.
Glad you enjoyed it! I find a lot of people don't have time to read anymore but can listen to audiobooks while driving/doing other things in our busy day-to-day life. Caspian's Gambit is actually just a prequel story, so it's only supposed to be one hour long, however someone other than me uploaded it illegally. I'm working to get that straightened out. Regardless, I hope you enjoy Caspian's "origin" story.
You know I will enjoy it. I love the way you left the book open for a continuation of Caspian's Adventures. I got to read (listen to) most all the hard lick Hank books but somebody took them down probably also because next time I wanted to hear them they were gone.
Hi, thank you so much! Each book in this series is available in audio of course, from any retailer. I've also written a military sci-fi book called THE ETERNITY SOLDIER which is also on audio as well. I'm still looking into getting my second series on audio as well.
Based on where he was at the beginning of the book, Caspian's life is far more fortunate by the end. It's not a physical fortune, more like a metaphorical one :)
@@TheArkvander ahh... I suspected that might have been the case. "Fortune" being how things worked out for him, as in "fortune teller" having nothing to do with money. ...now I get it! 👍

hey, make more books no rush........okay maybe a little bit haha *Underrated channel pretty good! Just got done with Elantris, good change pace, this book is free with subscription if anyone is interested reading along it popped up on my feed.
5:04:06 “stah-sis” and then right after “Casio-peeeah” Sorry can’t help myself, if you’re gonna narrate sci-fi, ya gotta know how to pronounce at least stasis right lol I should add that this is the first YT audiobook that I like enough to listen all the way through. Fantastic story. 5 ⭐️
The easy way out would have been to say those 24 people who died had all been the admirals fault. But the author put the blame directly on our protagonist Whatever the reasoning behind what he did, the result was still 24 people dying. It's good that he was written such a way, it gives value to his regrets even if he stands by what he did in the end as the rifht thing to do.
It was a decent book until about 3/4 of the way through. Every wannabe author makes the mistake of pouring so much drama into a story that absolutely ruins it!!! The shit within Lt Paige and his constant belligerent attitude and hostility towards Cas for chapters on end is ABSOLUTELY IMPLAUSIBLE!!! Any half military officer or hell, a good NCO would shut down a mouthy Lt. before he got the 2nd word out of his mouth! This author lacks enough imagination to write a story that holds the readers attention without resorting to adding over confrontational situations for the suspense and drama factor alone!! It is a pathetic style of writing that should be illegal. At least the Narrator is decent.
Swords ? And a fighting scene when she overpowers a guy armed with a gun while she is armed with a EFFING SWORD ? Kan you put in bows and arrows in your next story, preferably with stone tips on arrows next time please ? What is it with muricans and swords in their SCI-FI stories and movies ?
i laughed, cried and narrowed my brow listening to this excellent story. for it to spur emotion from me, i give it a 10 out of 10. from the author to narrator....well done
