- Hurricane Ian struck Punta Gorda on September 28, 2022. It was a mass destruction event. We were fortunate to only sustain minor damage to our home. We did sustain severe damage to our pool cage enclosure and landscaping. Many people lost everything and businesses were destroyed. It will take years for our area to rebuild. Some will never recover. Thanks Sean Howard of West Coast Builders in Punta Gorda for building such a strong wonderful house.
