I love how the culturally sophisticated people Ali G interviews, like this guy and the fashion guy, get Ali G without any explanation. They appreciate the act, without being taken in by it.
Not necessarily. Some posh bloke Jacob Rees-Smog was actually pretty cool with Ali during their chat, as was a famous fashion designer who laughed when Ali suggested Calvin Klein killed Versace. But I do agree those who embraced Ali G are probably the more nice people with less to hide & less of a superiority complex. I mean the fact Donald Trump walked out of his interview with Ali says a lot.
@@firstnamelastname364 I just saw the interview with the fashion designer yesterday and it was brilliant. Tomasz Starzewski was his name, shame he only makes things for women. Really cool dude, after the Versace bit he lightened up a lot.
Sacha once said the people he interviews dont even know they being interviewed, they think ali g is the hosts sideman warming up before the interview, thats how he manages to troll them
I've watched a ton of ALI G interviews, and this guy is the coolest - finally someone who really laughs at his hillarious questions and flows with it - what a cool cat - love this interview.
I know this is a reach, but at the end of the vid, when Ali G smiles at the Christies guy, I reckon that was a sincere smile of appreciation from SBC. He recognised that this man saw through the character, but played along, had fun, and made the whole thing 100x better than it would’ve been if he had chosen to be a dickhead and be all admonitory and weird.
Well I think that field generally attracts two sorts: elitist types and really cool open minded interesting thoughtful types. However now it’s just dead types living in sin. And I miss the old days.
Apparently this guy is as artistically crazy as Sasha is, so he tuned in immediately. Nice duo. 😁 P. S.: Smell dis an u'll know what u is. God this is genius! 😆👏👏👏
This must have resonated with Sacha and given him the inspiration 18+ years later for the sketch on Who Is America, where the former convict paints with his own feces!
I noticed that the easiest way to break Sacha is by messing up the handshake/fist bump. Literally always cracks a smile when an awkward fist bump happens
Dude was a fucking blast 😂 You can tell he genuinely enjoys all forms of art by the way that even the people Ali mentions for a laugh are given proper consideration by him
You can tell a lot from a person by the way they react to Ali g
Brent Cates so true
omg, his reaction to Ali G at 2:28 is just superb.

I actually thought about this more after this video, than any other from Ali G. You're totally right!
That’s the point. Evidently you missed it.
this guy handled the sacha baron cohen ridiculousness better than anyone I've seen
+indigojack99 you may wanna check the interview with tomasz starzewski (on fashion). that guy was also quite cool.
theantimatter cool thanks. i'll google it
Lol, I loved the part where he was like "me heard Calvin Klein did it"
Tomasz Starzewski handled him the best of all of them. Another honorable mention is Jacob Rees Mogg.
Chanclas check out Trump
Ali G is a lot more funny without a laugh track. I think the silent pauses are what makes it hilarious.
I honestly like the silent pauses as well, but the problem is is that, it isn't a laugh track. The original video was shown to an audience of people.
+lcyxos But they recorded the reactions of the people, and put them over this video. That still makes it a laugh track, it's a seperate recording.
They still make a whole laugh track in post-production. They are cutting it, replacing some fragments with differents, cloning parts, replacing, etc..
How will americans know when to laugh without a laugh track??
@@etham1655 The American version had no laugh tracks. The British version did.
Haha that guy was having a blast.
x33mmm a very fun time
"Me teacher told me Van Gogh chopped his knob off"
lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Van Gogg
AHAHHHH I COULDNT STOP LAUGHING
One of the best Ali G moments for me XD
I was laughing for solid 10 minutes.. didnt had a laughattack like that in a long time holy shit
Sacha nearly broke character with how the other guy reacted.
British people tend to handle Ali G way better than Americans
i think that American priest from the abortion video handled him the best. he even did Ali G's fist bump
You mean the one that said 'This interview is over'? That's not handling it too well.
Sam Reeves yes him. the priest who's anti-abortion because he himself was aborted
@Nik K He was firing blanks
And the US defense secretary in the "War" video
it looks like Lord Inlet realizes thirty seconds in that this is a crank interview yet plays along to the end, respek
Lord Hindlip
Respek
Aight wicked

3 Years Late. RESTEPCA.
You can tell this is a man of art by his open-mindedness
EDIT: Randomly came back to rewatch this and found out he passed away 22 days ago. RIP
Wise comment 👌
He was found guilty of 7 murders shortly after this video was shot.
@@biohazard8295 damn, he was even more open-minded than I thought
@@PyroNexus22 the 7 people whos heads he split were pretty open minded as well
@@shreyasbhatt7112you are assuming that the mind is in the brain, which is not very open-minded. I should have your mind opened for that
I love how the culturally sophisticated people Ali G interviews, like this guy and the fashion guy, get Ali G without any explanation. They appreciate the act, without being taken in by it.
That’s cos they don’t react to the act, they engage with him.
I appreciate it when people see through the act, but instead of reacting vociferously or attempting flight, they engage and “play along” as it were.
They often dont know that he will be conducting the interview, he acts like he's the lights guy then sits on the interview chair when they roll
The interviewee takes it all in good spirits :)
I think hes high
Devin Justly you don't have to be high to be happy
@@freakinstinkin4258 true
This is the only person who understands Ali G, every other person takes him seriously
Actually, people who don't get him most of the time take themselves too seriously.

Watch the one about fashion.
I really like this bloke, he's having a good time :)
that man Ali is interviewing is super chill.
That dude was so laid back it almost looks as though they had a quick smoke before the interview 😂
Some of Ali's imports!
I love how the guy lost it when Ali asked if Van Gogh 'Chopped his knob off' lmaooo!
😂😂
hahaha me too
This guys took everything Sacha said in stride. All in all, this might have been the best reception I've seen of this character! Props to that guy!
I know this is a reach, but at the end of the vid, when Ali G smiles at the Christies guy, I reckon that was a sincere smile of appreciation from SBC. this is the only guy who actually enjoyed the interview
Boutros Boutros-Ghali?
Possibly the most unpretentious man in one of the most pretentious subjects on earth - art. Well played, sir
Well I think that field generally attracts two sorts: elitist types and really cool open minded interesting thoughtful types. However now it’s just dead types living in sin. And I miss the old days.
What an absolute gem of a gentleman. Doesn’t judge, is open minded and carries himself with class.
Apparently this guy is as artistically crazy as Sasha is, so he tuned in immediately. Nice duo. 😁
P. S.: Smell dis an u'll know what u is.
God this is genius! 😆👏👏👏
Sacha though
Out of all the people he's interviewed, this one was the best with a great sense of humour.
This is so sweet. Like the guy is obviously a genuinely good dude who loves art
Awww I like this guy he seems genuinely lovely.
Gosh, that gent is a great sport! I loved how he tries to engage Ali G going down to his level in a sense.
How charming he is!
That interviewee came across very well.
This guy handled the interview so well. You can tell he's a great guy all around.
2 insane artists in the same room equals having fun
No one enjoyed this interview more than the guy being interviewed.
This must have resonated with Sacha and given him the inspiration 18+ years later for the sketch on Who Is America, where the former convict paints with his own feces!
Sacha would have known exactly who won the turner prize, and what he used that year. Thats why he asked him. Comedy writes itself sometimes.
What a cool guy, this is one of Ali G's best interviewees.
haha chillest dude ever,totally ace
This must be the first person I've seen Ali G interview where it's clear that the interviewee "gets it."
lol hey that ain't just for batty boys
This is the most laid back and down to earth British noble the world has ever seen
How this man holds it together is beyond me, fucking true legend
one of his best...
He was a good sport
I think that the interviewees who appear to be the better sports are probably those with the better interpersonal skills.
Possibly the only guest who found his interview as funny as all of us watching it. RESPEC
One of my favourites from back in the day.
This guy is an absolute legend
Van Gogh chopped his knob off cracks me up every time
Lord Inley - what a lovely chap he is. Loved them both!
By far, best Ali G interview. Guy was so cool about the whole thing
I like that guy - nice to see him interview someone with a sense of humour
He's probably one of the best guests Ali's had on R E S P E C
Thats the best one as in getting along with each other and having a laugh!
2:35 almost broke character lol
+🔺Warbo Entertainment I have watched this show since day 1 I have only seen him break character once when he tries to learn the welsh language
+77boondocksaint watch the haunted house one - he breaks big time
He also breaks on the US show when trying to pitch his inventions.
also when he replies 'thank you' to the drug expert that 'your body is beautifully constructed'
He's just smiling, that's not breaking character
I love this guy he has such a sense of humour
what sasha baron cohen does is the truest form of art, and this guy subconsciously recognizes it
One of the very best Ali G interviews
you can tell this mans a real 1 bc he vibes w ali g
By the grin on Saschas face at the end of the interview you can tell that he seriously likes this guy
I love coming back to this guy!
I rewatch this on occasion because it's my favorite out of all the Sasha Cohen clips I've binged on. :)
Still watch it and still funny in 2020
One of the best Ali G interviews!
Are you alive
This is the best!
Lord Hindlip, what a great sport he is.
It's a shame that Ali G and Borat have to retire. They are Sacha's funniest characters!
Yo, man! Da Ali has a great heart for art! Respect! ✌️🤠💥❤️
We didn't know what Rolf Harris was till the end either 😂
Fo' real!
First time Sacha couldn't prank someone. But the opposite happened.😂
I loved this interview. They both had fun doing it lol
❤marvellous....from one Art lover to another😊😅❤
A classic. Awesome guy.
Maybe the only interviewee who ever enjoyed the interview more than Ali G did.
This guy is an absolute unit.
Most wholesome ali g interview, enough to not be ruined by the laugh track
Had to watch it twice - awesome!
I noticed that the easiest way to break Sacha is by messing up the handshake/fist bump. Literally always cracks a smile when an awkward fist bump happens
Only an Artist can understand Art ;) ... That's why this interview went so well
Had to come back to this after the sad news Lord Hindlip died yesterday. Can just tell he was a chill guy by the way he was sitting here. R.I.P.
This is the funniest, Ali G interview ever. It gets funnier, watching it for a second or third or fourth time.
Worked well with Ali G fair play to him 👊🏻
Dude was a fucking blast 😂 You can tell he genuinely enjoys all forms of art by the way that even the people Ali mentions for a laugh are given proper consideration by him
Best interview guest of all time easy
The more from any of this man's characters the better.
This fella was great. Respectful and handled Ali's questions really well.
this art guy is genuine and funny...he goes with the flow...you can just tell he grabs life by the balls and just enjoys it...
I lost it when he started laughing on Van Gogh chopping his knob off😂😂
This guys actually a decent guest
I love it when ali g talks with these old, stuck up peeps.
binge-watching G and started to think about laugh tracks and now I can't focus anymore...
At first I was like what does a man in a suit know about art... Then his chilled personality changed my mind. He definitely has some craziness in him.
These guys had the best damn interview of Ali G
Brilliant reaction by the interviewed guy from Christies...good sense of humour, great reaction to interview....hahahaha
Love this Ali G!
One of the best allies interviewes the guy wasn’t arrogant funny and could keep up :)
The guest has to be hammered on some fine wine for sure here...
love his characature, simply genius
Guy was such a good sport. Made it even funnier.
This dude straight up enjoyed that
90% of Ali G clips: "this dude wuz probably the best sport that Ali G ever had on da show."
nah
They got on well, makes is extra good
What a great guy! I’d like to have him teach art history in my school haha
What a brilliant guest!
