I've watched just about every Efren Reyes video I can find, and I'm sure this particular 9-Ball Tournament was one of his best. Not just because he won, it's HOW he won and Who he beat to arrive in this final. He was simply a sniper in this tourny. Reyes the GOAT.👍👍🎱

Of course he beat me and I enjoyed it. - - - If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area just stop by Steve's Cue and Grill - - - as you walk in you will see a picture of Efren and I on the left just outside the entrance of my cue repair shop - - - I'm there every week, if I'm not in my shop just walk up to the bar and look to your right - - - I am normally setting at the first table having coffee or unsweetened tea - - - if you shoot pool, since I own all the Diamond pool tables in the bar, the table time will be on me!
Watching and rewatching Efren The Magician Reyes spin, reverse screw, bank, masse or draw the cue ball and somehow dig himself out of trouble has always left me grinning like a fool. From a very humble background to conquering players who thought highly of themselves, and serving them humble pie on a regular basis makes me admire him even more. He remains the down to earth guy even today as he flights it out with the up and coming Filipino pool phenoms in back alleys and sometimes dingy pool halls outside Manila, passing on the touch to the next Magician, although there will never be another as good as Bata Reyes. I see Biado, de Luna, Aranaz, Orcullo... are products of Reyes's game and Buster Bus Bustamante, another Filipino Genius I have to pay homage to before I forget.

I never thought in 20 years people still appreciate till this day the feat by the Magician, i got hook watching Efren weaving his magic wand on the pool table, he's like a conductor & all eyes are on Reyes when his on the table, i did watched this live 21 years ago!

Effren's reputation precedes him. When you are playing the greatest of all time, the pressure is on, can't be ignored easily. You simply fail to fall in that groove, where your thoughts and emotions are under control, and you only need to choke once or twice, Effren pulls ahead, the pressure goes up even more.
I do not watch pool players and it is only when I got old and saw Efren playing, I got so impressed of his professionalism, humbleness, and love for the sport. You deserve to be called the "magician" and we are so proud of you!!!
I'm not so sure about that. Efren is my favorite player to watch not because he's the best Shot maker because he isn't the best. What makes him so great is his nerves and his ability to kick. Nobody kicks better than Efren and nobody has been in tougher spots

It takes more than talent to play snooker. The same goes for carom games. Efren knows three cushion, you can see it in his escapes and safeties. But he could never beat the top players in three cushion or even straight rails.
This is a prestigious championship, but if you beat the same champions and elite players in other competitions it still counts and is equally significant. For example, Efren's absolute dominance in the Derby City Classic tournaments, where many of the legends failed and left no mark, is as much an achievement as this one. After all, you're still playing the same champions, and many big names are being bumped out. Some of the competition was grueling, involving days and days of play. In other words, all these tournaments are important and significant.
