Just watched this one for the first time and i can really tell Outremer is the most amazing catamaran manufacturer in the world. I was invited to sail the 51 and i did. It blew my mind. In theses days the 55 was not yet out. But now when i see it. I will have to sail this one and buy this one.... guess waiting is still 3 years.... So thank you Outremer for such an amazing work. And visiting you was really so friendly and familially. I can only recommend it from what i have seen till now
Finally an Outremer that doesn't punish you with weather at the helm ! I guess Outremer should thank Balance catamarans for coming up with the verse helm design on their 526 models !
@@zzzxxzzz3248 And what about Shioning that had the same feature 20 years ago?! Who stole from whom? ... but you are kid that knows sh!t, let alone anything bout sailing!
A catamaran I might buy if funds ever become available. Too many cats. have miserable performance and are more like floating villas, I have cruised past many in my monohull. Now, on one of these I could really knock the miles in when I across the pond. Someone is shouting at me! What is that nurse, is it time to wake up? I can always dream!
Such beautifully engineered thought out boats. But I wish there was a way to make them reasonably affordable. My dream is to retire and sail the world. But even making 6 figures (US), I still won't have enough saved in 10 years to consider one. I'd love to see Outremer invest in manufacturing processes that greatly reduces the cost of production, without sacrificing size or build quality. Like what Tesla did. Tesla built the machines to automate the manufacturing. They bought or invested in almost every company in their direct supply chain. They made their own batteries, etc. Now their cars smoke Ferrari's and drive themselves, while remaining reasonably affordable for most people. Still expensive, but 80k do-able. Not 500k Ferrari prices. For now, it seems, Outremer caters only to clients with Ferrari budgets. Perhaps Outremer could invest in raw fiberglass or carbon fiber production to reduce material costs. In production use programable multi-access arms to lay fibers on molds or for finishing large surfaces. Develope in house winches instead of name brand, or watermakers, etc. I would allow some customization, but within a smaller predefined set. I don't say this to be criticle, because your boats are absolutely some of the nicest out there. I just genuinely hope to see Outremer break out of the custom boutique market and into mine.
There will be never sold as much catamarans as cars. So the comparison is not as easy as you might think. Nice idea through. But unlikely to become true. And it wouldn't be so much fun on the water if it's crowded to much. Just my thoughts.
Do you have any plans to make a hybrid catamaran? Two electric motors and conventional diesel generators. I think this will simplify the design. And the diesel generator is cheaper and easier to replace
Can you place electric furlers on the spinnaker, genoa and staysails? This would minimize the number of sheets you need to handle and give those electric winches a break.
Does the accommodation come in any other colours apart from that puturate whites make it feel welcoming make it a home instead of this cheap minimalist look
I would rather have a fly bridge that can be completely enclosed in rainy and/or colder weather - like the Lagoon. A very bland interior. The cabins are bland as well. I realize the boat is built for performance but I would rather have the interior of a Lagoon and give up a bit of performance.
Those who are in the market for an Outremer 55 aren't looking for a cat with wide spacious hulls and a richly appointed interior. Nor are they interested in a flybridge, which will affect performance by raising both the center of effort and the sail plan. It's counter productive on a performance oriented yacht. That's why prospective clients who _are_ looking for these things don't consider an Outremer and instead look at Lagoon, PF, Sunreef, etc., which _do_ offer these features. But you already knew all that...

Best of all worlds. Beautiful and versatile catamaran. Look forward to seeing an electro propulsion sail drive version. Great work!

It's not a new concept, been done before on Monohulls..
Good reason to be proud! Not sure I’d put generator or dive comp, ahead of the mast!? But you’d know better than I ! Thanks for sharing. 😎🏖🌴☀️🇦🇺
You knocked this one out the park! Well done!
The balance catamaran co. was first on the balance 526 to invent the drop down helm wheel !

You have plans making 65 or more in length?
Gorgeous! 👏🏻
Is this catamaran for rough seas? I have serious doubts about the sliding doors.
Awesome..! Very nice...!
That carbon in the structure ? That's not great with all the flexing ?
Nice👌👌☀️☀️
