Hey Hera, fellow Canadian here and barely 1000 elo. TH-cam tells me I am top 0.12% of your subscribers. I watch your videos as my daily dose of entertainment, after work, while eating dinner or sometimes just relaxing on my couch. I felt compelled to answer your question. I love your 1v1 and 1v many gameplay. The best videos are coaching and vids like how to defend CD on arena. I always skip the videos where you rate civs or units etc, i don’t find that info useful. I skip based on title, I don’t even open it to give it a try. I love all the Shorts. I also appreciate you considering your youtube audience. Other people simply upload their twitch content. I appreciate you don’t do clickbait. I enjoy the humor you bring as well. Keep up the good work. I will continue to support your content as long as you keep making them!
6:35 As a response to your question: There are plenty of videos I don't even click to watch because from the title alone I can tell whether I'm going to like it or not. Generally speaking, I don't watch 1v1 videos, whether they are random ladder games or tournaments. After all, if I want to see you compete in a tournament I either watch your stream or the vod. However, I will watch every single 1v2/1v5 etc games and I would also watch every single campaign or achievement hunter video. When I'm unsure, I usually click it and decide within the first 1-2 minutes if I'll watch it or not.
I watch all the videos from start to finish on both channels. I have it on in the background when im working and listen with earbuds, i watch when im cleaning around the house, or sometimes watch when falling a sleep. It used to help me with anxiety before I got on meds.
I usually skip the videos I'm not interested in (in my case, Coaching, Meta shift explanation, etc, since I don't really play so I don't need the tips), but I do on occasion dive through the video logs in search of a video more to my style
6:35 I will usually fast forward through a title such as this because your two opponents were 750 ELO. However your two channels' videos are often the first thing I look at after breakfast. So thanks for the content Hera.
As a viewer, I really love aoe2 content and more specifically your content. There are some video formats I prefer, and occasionally I'll skip one that doesn't interest me at the time. But I always get around to watching every video you post here, sometimes I'll skip some of the beginning but usually I'll watch it all the way through. I often use your videos to get myself hyped up to play aoe2 myself, since I find the game pretty stressful. I feel like I've learned from your channel more than anywhere else (sorry Spirit of the Law) and it has noticeably improved my gameplay and elo, so thank you for the awesome free content you post here!
1. I want to see you beat ballistic scorpions. 2. 2v1 or 3v1 and you can only make rams and flaming camels as your military. 3. 2v1 or 1v1, you get no military, but 15k stone, whatever civ you like. 4. Another hidden diplomacy Hera where you don’t die immediately
as a hyper-casual, i'll pretty much give every video a shot. 90% i'll continue watching until the end, the variety of videos/topics is a great strength of this channel imo
As for your question, I really Like to watch AoE content which offers something special. Basically, the only time I watch Pro 1v1s is during big tournaments. For casual videos I Love formats like these (1vx) because I don't know how they will turn out and they feature kinda relatable gameplay to me. I also love videos which feature crazy strats (or how to counter them) or videos that show the more fun and games side of things.
As someone who watches daily, I'll pretty much watch anything. Sometimes with more educational videos, I may hop out like halfway in, but I certainly think it's worth uploading those videos and think they're great. I absolutely love these 1vX videos and was thrilled when you did an exploding kings game (though we didn't get to see many kings pop). I'd love to see you do more stuff like that - forest nothing, exploding vills, tiny maps, etc. All that said, I'll keep watching and would 10000% prefer you to upload content you enjoy making!
Daily watcher here. Sometimes I focus just on your video and in that case I do just skip the content I'm not super focused on (you vs lower elo folks mainly) but then sometimes when I just want some background noise I put a video I'm less interested in of yours on (what I'm doing rn)
When you were talking about playing with your brothers, it brought me back to when i was a kid and use to play with mine. I miss those days sometimes, they dont play anymore. I just play alone now..😢
Hera should play a 1 v 4 where each player gets 10,000 of one resource. For example, one player gets 10,000 food, another player 10,000 gold, another 10,000 stone, and another 10,000 wood.
Hera could have a handicap or a population boost, so it keeps it balance. However, he'd still have to guess which player had which resource cheat code to figure out their strategy.
Round 3: Hera vs 2 low elo starting with 10,000 food AND gold. Re: question on watch habits - I usually am looking for a video to watch during lunch and will go to my Home/recommended. If there is a 1vX or a lower elo coach/cast will typically watch immediately. If not will go to profile and see if there are any 1vX or lower elo coach/casts I haven't seen yet and watch that, if not may watch the day's campaign/commentary/pro game video depending on if there is something from another channel I'd rather watch or not.
Answering your question, I usually skip 1 v 1, we've had enough of those over the years - T90's commentaries are a bit of an exception, as its the commentary that is the draw card. Its the 1 v X which are the most interesting. Thumbnails are creative for a reason, they produce clicks. A couple of suggestions: whoever has the handicap, could get recourses cheats every 10 to 20 minutes, instead of just one hit at the beginning. I'd also love to see a game from your competitors perspective.
I skip the videos wich are aimed for experienced or high rank elo players, like maybe Meta, or very specific for some civs, I am a beginner so I am struggling to beat extreme AI, but topics like learning or battles in general, I watch them and enjoy a lot, thanks Hera!
I think a really cool series you could try is challenge runs? I've always thought it'd be funny seeing a vid where you try to win without the keyboard, idk if it's not a popular series out of initial thought of how impossible it'd be but i think there's other challenges more creative people can come up with that would be entertaining to watch
Any chance we get Hera doing a 1 vs x starting with 10000 food? Go Dravidians, queue up 3 villagers straight into feudal age and send everyone to wood. Use the +200 wood from aging up to assemble barracks + stable for the fastest scout rush possible.
To your question @ around 5:40 I skip the only gameplay videos with no commentary, I like the commentary I don´t care for and skip campaignrelated stuff Mainly like to watch you for nice tactics and surprising games which are mostly seen in tournaments mostly at T90 channel actually =) But I like it here
I guess to say it in a constructive way: when you cover pro play in a fair matchup you yourself playing or not and point out the interesting stuff from Hera perspective, I´d watch that
The 1vX games are my favorite, I click them faster than a 500 elo player clicks the town bell. Videos like "why I never use palisade gate" or "The Truth about Stone Walls" I avoid like T90 avoids admitting that auto farm didn't negatively affect the game.
1v1s I only watch if its a civ/against a civ I’m interested in playing.(tho i have been watching them a bit more nowadays) I watch most 1v2/3/4/5s I love campaigns I love whenever there is a teamup with AI, the constant shitting on its gameplay is hilarious. I don’t really watch coaching sessions unless it seems funny or theres something crazy in the thumbnail. Tho tbh most of your videos are amazing to listen to in the background(soothing voice) .
I think these guys mistake in these 1 vs 2 beginners series is that they wait til Hera makes it to Castle and has a lot of options and TCs. I think if they went some MASSIVE Feudal Age Push/Tower rush they'd be able to stop Hera and make more use of the extra gold. Instead of spamming Castles and Unique Units.
Hi Hera! I watch almost every video. The only videos I dont watch is campaign. The videos I love the most is the 1vX videos against non-pros. I also really liked the few videos you have playing with pros against beginners. I would love to see more of those videos where you include pro players either on your team or on opposite team with a mix of beginner/intermediate players. Writing as a 1200elo player here.
It would be interesting to see some kind of variation of 1v2 or 1v3 against pro players where you for example have handicap or start with more resources.
I’d line up to get my base smashed in by a pro player. It would have to be sudden death so there was a clear win parameter. Plus time between games shouldn’t count. Sounds fun though!
6:43 if it's a video I don't care for, sometimes i give it a chance, but usually i check if i missed any of your recent videos that should be interesting, if not. I go to viper's channel looking for some rage forest LOL
I usually watch all of ur vids if i have the time for it. If i cook or work i put ur vids on and listen to them in the background till the end. If the title really doesnt speak to me, i go watch someone else. Hope that helps
Hey Hera, I've been a consistent viewer for a good while now. Personally, I'm enough of an AoE2 fan that I watch almost all of the videos. However, if it's a video style I'm not quite as interested in, I tend to skip it for a while, many times coming back to watch them later when I want more AoE2. I will admit the games vs. viewers can be less interesting IF it's obvious really early that they've lost. Otherwise, I love the 1vX games.
I've started watching daily, I pretty much watch most things the day they are posted. I will skip campaign videos, my favorite are coaching since it helps me learn as well. I also do enjoy the different 1v5, 1v3, etc.. I do sometimes skip dark and feudal age if the video is longer than 30 minutes when it's 1v1.
I only watch videos from you and T90 for AOE2 Content. I love watching the 1vX series. I love the RecReviews. Don’t really enjoy watching your 1v1s because I know you will stomp the opponent lol. For 1v1 content, I watch you live on Twitch. Start doing Community games if you can find the time. You can do a 1vX, infinity resources both sides to see how that would go lol.
Great video as always Hera, I love listening to your old memories with your brother playing AoE2! Video theme suggest: 2 Pros vs 1 Beginner with infinite resources, with some free talk like u do with Daut. The quantity of Pros or Beginners for a balanced game u can choose better than me. I would be very happy to see this one day, ty for all Hera!
as you ask, i tend to watch videos based on the thumbnail, it gives you the expectacion of what we are going to see, for example, the 1v6 impostors Heras, nice thumbnail, nice idea
Yes, I really wanna see the imposter idea again. But I think its very obvious who is who because of score. Therefore, if there is a possibility to hide score, Im pretty sure it would make the games alot more interesting.
so i watch almost every video, some 1v1 like, a game you were streaming and was really good, depends on my mood. sometimes i watch those and sometimes i skip. and i dont tend to watch older videos cause either i already saw it, or its some guide that may be outdated now with all the different changes the game has like every patch.
I generally just skip if its a game style I'm not interested in. I much prefer the 1 v X games youve been putting out over the last year or so, thought on occasion I'll check out a coaching or 1v1 game. I'm mostly here for community content, same with T90's videos. I love his community games series, and would love to see you get in on more of them. (I really want to see some more hera diplo exploding kings/vills games, especially if the others in the game dont know who the pro is). Another thing on the youtube front, I don't generally click like on videos unless I'm really into the video, or the creator, and one of the fastest turn off's for me is "Don't forget to like and subscribe, it really helps the channel a lot" right at the beginning of the video/ during the intro. Its on every single youtube video, if I like your video, I'll like your video, but let me watch it first before asking (For me this usually applies for creators I'm visiting for the first time, because it's a first impressions thing. If this is how every one of your videos start out asking for views/likes/sub, then I'm probably gonna pass you over.) Not meant to be a jab at you sir, and you tend to be pretty unobtrusive about it, so more like a personal pet peeve of mine that might offer you some sort of perspective or insight. Also I'm not a content creator, I don't have access to your metrics, and if it shows that I'm in the minority, because I have heard that doing that increases channel growth by a large factor, then fair enough, thats a good enough reason for it, and it's not gonna stop me from watching/liking/commenting. At the end of the day its free content and I'm grateful to be a viewer. Thanks for the many hours of entertainment!
i only click the videos that have an interesting concept. I check your title, which describe the vid, and the map, which is in the picture. and if i like it, i watch it. campaign vids are usually a yes for me.
Hera when I see a video I don't want to watch I usually just postpone watching it until I have no more content. Then I'll check it out. If it catches my attention Ill stay.
Brother just upload whatever the hell you want we will watch. I personally watch literally every single one of your videos 11 But I do prefer this ones or the top techs or units etc
I am suscribed to the channel, if the notification is in one category that I'm interested in, I put the video in a new tab, else I don't click. I'm not interested in coaching for example, but I like epic games and 1 versus n stuff. Your thoughts about updates are interesting also.
If I am not interested (like ranked games or 1 v x when it is clear one side is steamrolling) I either don't click, just stop watching after a few seconds or skip a bit to see if I am proven wrong (kinda what I did for this one)
I tend to watch most of the videos, but will skip out on things such as "X civ/unit is underrated/terrible" because I enjoy watching your gameplay, and civ or unit analysis isn't really applicable to me since I only play infrequently and casually with buddies (and we all trash 😂). Coaching vids I watch, but often as background noise, whereas the other gameplay 1vX I consistently watch and pay close attention to cause they're usually really fun
I think you overestimate lower ELO players using their markets. I hover between 950-1000, and never really used my market much to swap resources prior to watching your videos. Unless they play a lot, using 10k gold to get other resources probably isn't even in their minds that early.
Honestly, i just watch every video except some advice video that are just advice based without any game content. Usually they are the one that last about 10min
I skip the videos of kind I don't usually watch but if the title is interesting enough, I give the video a shot. I don't really care about the thumbnails, though
I am less interesed in the feature based videos vs low elo legends, more in coaching in general. I nevertheless look all of the videos becouse I am looking for tips and tricks you sometimes randomly sprread in your videos :D I must say though this was less of a good video imo becouse the skill gap is to huge, and to me its clear that even 50k food would not make a difference, its visible that they just not aware what to do randomly dropping castle without actually attacking at all or towering random resources in middle of map..
I personally kinda got bored of 1v1 arabia games. maybe more 1v1 arena games would be more interesting for a while. And also I like challenging games but not like this. These kind of guys are making me sick and they are killing all the challenge. Because as long as they play and think like this, you can even win 1v10. It is not hard to think just up to feudal as fast as possible than stop gathering food and only focus on wood and stone for some time. so probably 20 pop castle age and then a castle drop and then all in. thats it.
to answer ur question: i usually watch all the 1v2 1v3 1vx since it usually makes for good games. but if you keep uploading lame ones like this one i might stop watching all of those :D they didn't do anything this game, just too hard for them to spend the res, i guess. I think one of them just buying stone for 5k gold and just dropping 5-6 castles with all their vills as soon as they up could be a decent strat.

Do a 1v1 against a 1200ish elo Player, but he gets 100k gold :D
I would volunteer ;)
Can we do 1500 elo
Im pretty sure Hera would lose that one haha. You can basically make a castle rush with 10+ castles around his base😊

I check your title, which describe the vid, and the map, which is in the picture. and if i like it, i watch it. campaign vids are usually a yes for me.
as a response, i usually give every vid a shot, more interested in coaching vids or 1v3 or more
Hera when I see a video I don't want to watch I usually just postpone watching it until I have no more content. Then I'll check it out. If it catches my attention Ill stay.
Dick Johnson again?!😂
Brother just upload whatever the hell you want we will watch. I personally watch literally every single one of your videos 11
But I do prefer this ones or the top techs or units etc
I am suscribed to the channel, if the notification is in one category that I'm interested in, I put the video in a new tab, else I don't click. I'm not interested in coaching for example, but I like epic games and 1 versus n stuff. Your thoughts about updates are interesting also.
What do you mean "A Hera Video that you don't care about"? I don't understand the question...
sorry to say, i skip if i don't think i like the topic/content. but if the thumbnail looks interesting, i give it a shot
700 elo, they don t have a build order after the first 6 vils
If I am not interested (like ranked games or 1 v x when it is clear one side is steamrolling) I either don't click, just stop watching after a few seconds or skip a bit to see if I am proven wrong (kinda what I did for this one)
I watch everything on this channel and some of the videos on the pro 1v1 channel if they seem fun :)
about the videos, i watch almost all of them, u make great content in general.
I love 1 v Xs where X >= 2
I see Hera, i click, simple
I think you overestimate lower ELO players using their markets. I hover between 950-1000, and never really used my market much to swap resources prior to watching your videos. Unless they play a lot, using 10k gold to get other resources probably isn't even in their minds that early.
Honestly, i just watch every video except some advice video that are just advice based without any game content. Usually they are the one that last about 10min
Atredies vs Harkonen&Ordos, 7 mission.
Let's GO!!
I wanna get my ass kicked trying these challenges!!
2v1 with cobra car each in castle age
I skip the videos of kind I don't usually watch but if the title is interesting enough, I give the video a shot. I don't really care about the thumbnails, though
Hace mas videos de los 10x unique tech
That’s just crazy
i watch all your videos brother they all interest me
0:20 can anyone tell me where it is ? I don't see that vid
It was posted yesterday
@@nikhilgupta27 no it wasn't yesterday vid hera started with 10k gold and it was 1v5 I'm talking about 1v2 enemy starts with 10k food
I am less interesed in the feature based videos vs low elo legends, more in coaching in general. I nevertheless look all of the videos becouse I am looking for tips and tricks you sometimes randomly sprread in your videos :D
I must say though this was less of a good video imo becouse the skill gap is to huge, and to me its clear that even 50k food would not make a difference, its visible that they just not aware what to do randomly dropping castle without actually attacking at all or towering random resources in middle of map..
I usually skip the video if you talk only i Watch all gameplay 🤣 i usually skip It only
I click on all videos and if I don't like it to much I stop watching or fast forward to see if you won.
You know it's real love when you can comfortably share a bathroom without keeping a gas mask handy😚
