@Ethan Crowley this is a cover, he practiced it alot and probably did like 5 takes + With paul they just told him "play spanish fly" and he did. On the spot, not second takes. And he probably didnt play it in years

I've always said Ozzy Osbourne and Eddie Van Halen remind me of one another Ozzy is brilliant in his songwriting and finding musical talent. Eddie was a fantastic music writer and a virtuoso extraordinaire. Both way ahead of their time. Eddie will leave a long lasting legacy as well as Ozzy when he passes. They were friends and saw each other quite often. Both very musically inclined as you would have guessed. RIP eddie

Superb. Finally after nearly 40 years i've seen somebody playin' it. Good job!!!!!!! What really struck me is..his guitar has 99% the sound from the original record from VH2, unbelievable.
How can I make an acoustic guitar very responsive to tapping like that? Do I connect it to an amp or strike the notes twice harder than what I do in electric?
I played through an amp with a cable instead of a mic, as the guitar is semi-acoustic. With some reverb in the loop.Also the tuning is one tone lower, same as the original recording. This makes hammer-on and pull off easier and more pronounced.

Change the setup, try different strings and string height that you prefer. Use a compressor pedal to even out the difference in volume between notes.
Doesnt matter what string gauge ur using if ur action is too high its harder to play bacause u have to press it harder then usual
SolidSnoke the hole is on the side I’m sure. Doesn’t have to have a sound hole on the tonewood to make it an acoustic.
