Published in England or the U S A in 1943. ? England was at war . so it must have been a story of the 1930s. which had not yet appeared in print . Those wartime books on yellowing paper and with cloth backs can stil be found in secondhand bookshops.
Very good notice, but it was published in the US in 1942 under the title (Murder in Retrospect) & in the UK in January 1943 (although some sources state that publication was in November 1942).
