New to the channel? I do Let's Play videos -- these are like walkthrough guides of gameplay with continuous English commentary trying to explain my decisions and what strategy I use. If you're looking for hacks or cheats, you're in the wrong place! - เกม
Fun Fact, upper case and lower case got their names because the letters were literally in the upper and lower case of the type setting desk.
What were they called before those desks exists?
Capital Letters and Small Letters, Majuscule and Mainuscule... that's it as far as I know.
That was a fun fact. I really didn’t know that
@@undying3132 They weren't usually used in the proportion they are now. There was text, written in a particular hand, and there were pretty initials (fewer of them that there are uppercase letters now)
@@garydagg9112it’s crazy how much language stems from printing. Another good one is that the letters or ‘types’ commonly used together (like ch or Qu) would sometimes be made as one unit. These units were called ‘stereotypes’.
Not gonna lie, a newpaper named "The Quill" would be fire. Simple and nice.
Love the pace and theme. Only thing missing is that old timey radio voice covering big news stories, and a newspaper crier going EXTRA EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT
The Bruins did indeed win 14 games in a row from 1929-12-03 to 1930-01-09
This Just In! We want more News Tower Lets Play.
Paper works so much better in the input station than in the output station of the printing press. ;)
And, BTW, you can connect stairs directly to the entrance door on the second floor. Saves a bit of floor space.
A slug is a line of type (This is where the Linotype gets its name), typesetters format the stories into column form by making individual lines, at the assembly desk, these column form stories are fitted into the printing plates which make up individual pages.
I kind of dig this game so far. Would like to see more of this, Quill.
I don't think I'd enjoy playing this game, but I love watching you play it. I hope this series continues!
Can't wait for a third installment of this series: Harlem Reporter and the Printer of Azkhaban
🤮🤮🤮
I love it
The Bruins did win their 14th game of the season on January 8the, 1930.
According to Wikipedia, it set a record for most consecutive wins that wasn't broken until 1982! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1929%E2%80%9330_Boston_Bruins_season
I'd love to see a playthrough of this.
Got this game when it launched into early access. Devs are very active and constantly updating the game.
The newsroom building aspect gives me Project Highrise vibes.
A bit of Mad Games Tycoon 2 vibes as well.
The game is very well made! Putting wall with doors between the printing machine and the door block a lot of noise and temperature.
Great idea for a game. Thanks for showcasing.
what a fun little concept! Hopefully there's some more of this to come
A stenographer is someone who takes a full written verbatim record using shorthand (so they can keep up in real time). Definitely not the telegraph users, they're more like operators. The news is all about taking on bits and pieces of statements, and putting it together to tell the story you're wanting to tell.
49:03 laughed out loud, “well that’s NEWS to me” 😂
Must...have...more! Love the premise and execution of this game and your content.
19:42 The Boston Bruins win did actually happen. I don't know about the others though, too vague.
I'd watch a whole series of this =)
Can't wait for more of this one
Woo! I checked out the demo the other day and it was pretty fun.
Hi Martin!
This game looks amazing! I love this trythrough so far!
Such a fun game. I picked it up and have played 20 hours already. Can't wait to see where this is going to go
What a great game, nice change from the "usual" types of tycoon.
Great Let's Try, I really hope you make a Let's Play with this game
Looks good, hoping for a full lets play when the game comes out
I got totally engrossed in this video. Like, holy moly, all of a sudden a hour was gone.
Would love to see more of this, even in Early Access
This game looks so cool!
Really interesting game. I know what my weekend will be and I hope we see more videos of it from you.
Looks awesome.
Another game that I have to buy...
5:45 Printers ALWAYS go on the bottom floor! This is the most backwards paper ever. Who's going to carry THOUSANDS of papers down three flights of stairs and the noise level would be insane
Amazingly fun game. I hope you do a small early access series for it!
Not accustomed to being here this early… hi y’all 😎 Love the great work, Quill!!!
Awesome game, would love to see 1 more episode to have an idea of how it progresses
This looks like the kid of game I could sink HOURS into.
The Xcom style news room idea really appeals to me.
Series on this could be fun :)
As a theatre kid, I'm anxiously awaiting a Newsies DLC
I've been hesitating to get this game because of the Early access tab, but it looks like they do have some serious depth on what they do have. Mayhaps I should pick it up.
I checked some of the random news stories like the Bruins NHL wins, they're real!
Any more of this coming? I thought this was really interesting. I would love to see you play it out
Hey Quill!
Is it possible to add the playlist this episode is a part of, to the video description as a general thing for all of your videos? It makes it easier to find the associated playlist
So.. Kind of "Mad News" + Project Highrise(or similiar games) with its own style..
I, as one of the fold, should feed our algorithmic overlord.
This reminds me SO MUCH of another game but I cant remember what its called. You build vertically like this as well, it's like the same genre. Dont think it's the same devs as I didnt find it on steam.
"The Quillian Quotidian" released...monthly 😅🧐
Keep playing this
Reminds me of the EXTRA EXTRA boardgame.
It looks fun, but like it might get repetitive?
I found you can connect your first stair to the main entrance
Wait, you're literally printing on toilet paper?
I try to learn at least one new word quotidian, and today was one of those days.
How many hours of content/story is there? Thank you
BRING ME PICTURES OF SPIDERMAN!
What is "Chrash"?
$50 for a trash bin in 1930?! And I thought Apple products were a rip-off, sheesh!
🤟
Cute.
having a trash can at your desk cost $50 in 1930???
Why does this game look like a mobile game?
While the name sounds nice, it’s not really apt to call a weekly newspaper “Quotidian” 🤷🏼♂️
You ruined my experience. Every other let's play News Tower stumbles and makes mistakes you didn't make which makes watching their series much less enjoyable. I wish you had continued this playthrough.
