Thank you for sharing this! I was just talking to my husband the other night about this! I told him I do not see you and your family anywhere close to how 8 passengers were. I have watched all of your family for a long time! Basically 11 years. I started watching when Jackson was being born. I have never once questioned your family vlogs like I did 8 passengers. I told my husband there is a huge difference between what 8 passengers did and what other family vlogs I watch do. It definitely comes across that your kids love vlogging and being a part of it. You have even said it before your kids wanted to video during your hard times and you did it for them bc they asked you too. You guys are amazing and you can definitely see your family is happy.
I was introduced to your family through your parents' Christmas vlogs, from which I began following each of you. I love your family and have prayed for all of you through many of the experiences you guys have faced. I believe that you guys are an inspiration to many families, and how you navigate difficult situations is also wonderful for others to take into their considerations. Blessings to all of you.
I dont know how i missed the fact that Sheri was writing a book but i cant wait to read it. I have followed all of your families for a long time and i cant imagine the strength it took to sit down and film this for us. thank you bonnie, because i didnt know i needed to hear this today.
Wow seeing you in the RV speaking about this sis a full circle. I have listened to the book and am more than proud of what she expressed, to stand up the way she did for so long. She’s such a wonderful example of a woman.

I have watched for many years and think about your families like my Roman Empire. Constantly, consistently with deep interest. I wish you all the best and appreciate your honesty.
It was such a great book. I also listened to the audiobook and loved it. Hearing Shari’s voice made it that more real. She’s an excellent writer. I continue to pray for her and her siblings. It’s time to take back her life and grow into the woman she is meant to be.
Everyone looks through their own glasses. Your - your - life formed your lens. Just as you chose to make this video, Shari chose to write a book! Not all of my family has survived our trauma from 40 years ago. I hope you do better than we did. I wish all the kids the best! ❤
I agree that people born to the same parents, growing up in the same house at the same time can be polar opposites. I can tell you have done a lot of reflection on the situation both before and after reading Shari’s book. I’m proud of you and your entire family (especially the 7 passengers) for getting through this extremely difficult time. Extremely difficult isn’t even enough to describe the pain and horror of what you’ve all been through. Thank you for providing a perspective from Ruby’s childhood that Shari was unable to provide from her point of view. I hope your family can get through this and come out the other side with respect for each other’s boundaries. Sending you so much love! ❤
Thank you for sharing, Bonnie. I'm happy for Shari for having a chance to share her side of the story, and I'm happy to hear that you guys are holding out ok.
Oh Bonnie I love this video. Thank you for giving us your thoughts. I haven't got her book yet but I will be getting it for sure!! I really hope that this will make your whole family feel better about themselves! Especially your parents!! It's so nice to see them in your videos even if it's just a little bit. I sure hope that your mom and Dad will make more videos in the future! I love you all, enjoy the Keys!!❤❤❤

It’s nice to see how mentally healthy you look this year on vacation compared to that heavy emotional cloud you had last year. You’ve honestly taken the time to process your feelings and find a way to keep moving forward. I pray you and your family have a peaceful and relaxing trip.
Oh Bonnie! The spirit and tone of this video is so loving and hopeful! Thank you for being willing to be vulnerable and share your feelings and bring closure for us as viewers. ♥️ I know I needed it and I’m sure many others feel the same. ♥️
I started reading the book at 8pm and quite literally did not go to sleep until 5am. I’d like to quote Shari here, because as a viewer sometimes I feel like one set of eyes of a million- similar to a biblically accurate angel. This passage made me think a lot about what I consume. What I shouldn’t consume. It truly was an incredibly written book, and we can all learn a lot from Shari Franke. “I wondered how the public’s consumption of others’ pain and suffering cross the line from empathy to voyeurism? We were just characters in a soap opera now, except the drama was real and the consequences permanent. Our grief had been reduced to a mere commodity, packaged and sold, consumed and discarded.”
Bonnie, I've been a silent viewer for many years ❤ I just want to say I am so proud of you for getting through this with grace. I have learned so much from you, things about motherhood, how to take care of yourself, style and how to protect my 3 children. I rewatch your old videos every day. Much love to you and your family ❤
Thank you Bonnie! You and your family are always in my prayers. I love watching you and your family every vlog you post. It wouldn’t be the same without you! If I’m feeling down I simply look for your video and it always seems to lighten my mood. Keep doing what you love ❤️
That was so well said! You are right. Corruption can be in ANY line of work. What happened to your dear nieces and nephews was unacceptable and unfair and they deserved better but you explained it beautifully just because that happened to them doesn’t mean everyone is that. I pray that as they are healing they can find peace and that you and your family can find peace as well. I think Shari is an amazing woman, I think all of them are. Thank you for sharing with us. ❤
Praying for you all. Thank you for posting. I was curious about your take on family vlogging. The way you are doing it seems amazing. I have been watching for years and have always noticed a difference in your vlogging styles. ❤
I bought Shari’s book and the audio book! I hope to start it this weekend. I have been hearing nothing but good things about the book and I am very proud of her as well. I’m glad you made this video because I was also wondering how you felt about the book and your side of it all. I totally agree with everything you have said. You said everything beautifully. I hope your family can finally start healing!! ❤
Bonnie could you talk a bit about how you handle the idea of keeping kids off the internet as far as predators. I think what some struggle with is how do you “safely” put children on the internet and does the risk outweigh the financial benefit?
How does anyone put their kids online safely? Politicians put their family at risk, small town Moms with 100 followers put their family at risk, going to the grocery store puts your family at risk. Everything, everyone puts their family at risk in some way and degree
@ agreed but I think the hours and hours of footage and the frequency of posting might deliver the children to a much larger audience and risk for identifying specific locations if someone wanted to find children in person. Lots of complicated issues but reducing the risk as much as possible is key I suppose.
@@bonniehoelleinalso if I knew there was a predator at a specific grocery store I wouldn’t take my child there. You have the knowledge of predators and that your children can’t consent and yet you still put them out there on a silver platter for everyone. It’s disgusting
Bonnie, what is your response to online predators looking at your children among other online kids? How is that safe or ethical? Are you willing to show your statistics for adult male viewers? I would still watch your videos even if you didn't show your kids.
There are child predators as your neighbors. There are child predators everywhere. Every mom posting their child to their Facebook is no different then me.
@@bonniehoellein Nope. Every average mom showing her kid on Facebook is showing it to 500-1000 of her "Friends" or mutual friends or friends of friends. You are showing your kids to 2 million people. You are showing their injuries, most vulnerable moments, etc. and you know this makes you the most views and money. Its not a matter of asking your kids if they agree to be on camera. Of course they say "yes". They havent seen anything different as this is the norm for them form the very fist breath they took. You should have came to the conclusion, after everything that happened, that its best not to show them at all. Shari is expressing not only the abusive part of Ruby but also how being on the internet from such a young age affected her life in general. People in high school treating her good only because she is "famous" and numerous examples. You have made a fortune already. Take the money, invest them, start a business and leave the internet.
@@ravioli6666 i dont no if she lacks concern, so much as puts a bit of prospective to it. My biggest concern is she said when speaking as family the kids were happy to continue the way it is, but how can they decided when its al they've known? I do agree that most children are in a very different environment to the one Shari was in.
I agree with you Bonnie. That's why i choose not to post my child online on any type of platform. I am concerned for the safety of your children and I do care. Otherwise I would not write anything. Those who care the most are straight shooters and will tell you directly. I watch your content for you mostly; because I enjoy that. I like the family content but not at this high price. I'd rather not see them online and know that they are more safe.
@@bonniehoelleinI agree with you Bonnie. Therefore I choose not to put my child on any type of platform. If I didn't care about your kids I would not comment. I like watching your videos; mostly for you. I enjoy the family content but not for any price. I'd rather not see them online and know that they are just a little bit more safe and protected.
So beautifully said Bonnie. Will forever send your entire family love and healing. This new season of life is a beautiful opportunity for new growth. ❤
I love you Bonnie and I love your family! I have to tell you that I have always watched you, Ellie, and Julie for the past 7 years. Whenever I would try and sample Ruby’s channel, I couldn’t stomach it even back then. Something was off and different and I never watched after a couple of minute sampling through the years. She was different and the Holy Spirit was helping me discern that and He guided me to stay away. I am thankful for that. I am glad you have hope!! That’s the peace that surpasses all understanding isn’t it? We will keep praying for your whole family and extended family! ❤❤❤
Gosh I am so glad to see this video ❤ I can't wait to read Shari's book. And you are absolutely right as I used to watch 8 passengers there is no comparison to your parenting and Ruby's. I love to hear that your kids have a voice and income/savings, this is amazing! Love love love your family ❤❤❤
I think you are the most wonderful woman, mother, sister, aunt. When you said you didnt know if you could say your heart was full i looked at it as your heart healing. I always want nothing but the best for you and your family, Bonnie. I can't tell you how much I cried hearing you say you had some closure. And I can see your spark coming back ✨️ love always to you ❤
I hope shari sees this and knows she still has her aunts to be there for her. I’m reading her book now and it’s very impactful. I grew up watching 8 passengers and Ellie & Jared and your channel Bonnie. I pray for your guys family a lot❤
Still listening to Shari book and it's written so well and im so proud of her! I've shed quite a few tears so far. I loved watching 8 passengers sending ❤️
Immediately after the release, I got the e-book and read it and one sitting and right after I went on Amazon and ordered the physical copy and also the audiobook to support her with everything I can. I am so very proud of her and wish only the best for her and the entire family! Thank you so much for sharing your honest opinion! Sending a lot of love all the way from Germany ❤
The problem is that not every family vlog is as ethical as you Bonnie. So there has to be some legal regulations in family vlogging. I’m not saying to ban it all but there has to be laws put in place that require channels to pay children. There also has to be limits on what channels can share as far as information about the kids.
While I agree that children don't belong on the internet, I can't help but wonder how much worse things would have been for the Franke children without thousands of viewers expressing concerns, calling the police and CPS, etc. I've read Shari's book and couldn't be more in awe of her strength and courage. Praying for peace for your family!
I love your family, but I disagree now. Now that we have seen what this does to children. Not just Ruby’s children. MANY children. But they are YOURS and you do get to decide. But this is where I bow out gracefully. Good luck to all of you. You are great people ❤
The book was incredible. I’m glad all of you as a family, that you all can have more perspective of what that experience was like. I appreciate your change in tone for Kevin. Men, husbands, fathers can be psychologically abused, brainwashed especially in the type of environment Kevin was in. I appreciated that she never absolved him, but understood and could see the “how it happened of it all” and find a way to forgive and move forward. Anyway, thank you for your perspective, this whole thing has been such mind blowing thing to experience as a long time viewer. It is never lost on me the privilege (as least I feel that it is) to have your perspective and Shari’s. None of this chaos was any of our business.. and yet I have learned a lot, so thank you. And I agree, there is a right and wrong way to everything. If I was Shari, I would be doing the same thing. If there is a terrible parent, they are going to be terrible, vlogging or not. At least with vlogging there’s a camera. Prayers to those families that have terrible parents and no one knows, and they are living a nightmare. ❤
I just finished reading Shari's book. It made me reevaluate my role as a mother. My children are in their 50's. Grown and on their own for many years. I know that I was not always the best Mom I could be. I've watched you for many years and have often thought that I wished I had been as patient and loving as you are. Shari's book was thought provoking. We love you Bonnie and your entire family. Your children are so incredibly happy and full of life. You are doing a great job. I'm sorry Shari and her siblings didn't have that.
Long time watcher, found you through E&J. Anyway, I'm confused by your love for Kevin. He is equally at fault here. He saw much of what was going on and did nothing. If my husband was doing what Ruby did to our kids, I would divorce him in a heartbeat, or take my kids and leave. Kevin does not deserve love or forgiveness. He should be in the next cell over from Ruby. "You want the best for him!?" What? Please explain! How do you not despise that man?
Hi Bonnie, I found your channel years ago from your sister Ellie page. I grew up watching multiple family vloggers and was my most watched content on TH-cam. I come from a difficult family and watching these videos was a sort of escape for me. I think in the beginning family vlogging was harmless the saying “you don’t know what you don’t know” comes to mind. But with the growth of TH-cam and just the internet in general we have learned the real dangers of showing prolonged content of children on the internet. Former family vlogger children -now adults -have come forward and stated they wished their family hadn’t vlogged them even though at the time they liked it. I 100% percent believe your children want to continue to be on the channel, because it’s the only life they know, and don’t understand the dangers consequences as an adult would. At the end of the day you are putting your children at an increased risk of harm/predators by having so much footage of them online. Please reconsider the amount of content you film with them. Thank you ❤
I know I want to show less and less of the kids. I already have moved in that direction. There are also kids that have come from family channels, who continue to share their lives and are wonderful thriving people. There is both.
One of the main things I took from this was the issue of ‘wellbeing’ it’s clear your children are happy, loved and supported. One bad egg shouldn’t set the precedence for everyone. ❤
You bonnie and your brother and sisters will never be like ruby and i think that its a good thing that you make choices together as a family on your social media and you tube journey thank you for sharing your valid feelings and putting the needs of your children in high regard. the best thing is to always keep the lines of communication open with joel and your children as a family together
Very very well said Bonnie! I know that I would miss the few family vloggers that I watch the ones that I believe have integrity and love for their family. I bought your nieces book and I’m looking forward to reading it and praying that all six of the Frankie children have healing ❤️🩹 I watched 8 passengers years ago and I had to stop because I felt like your sister honestly didn’t really like being a mother. I feel like she felt she needed to be a mother as that was a role she felt God wanted her to have I don’t feel like she was meant to ever be a mother and I don’t think she really likes kids to be honest. Thank you for addressing the book, God bless you all in 2025 ❤
My mom is an addict. Bonnie and Ellie, and eventually followed by Julie and their mom, were quite literally my FIRST examples of loving, compassionate, and empathetic mothers. It is hard at times, even now at 34 and a mom of 2, to come to understand and see what I missed out on as a child and still as an adult, but seeing their example has been critical to determining how id like to be as a mother and the relationship I want to have with my kids as they grow. And this does not come from a place of believing they are these perfect mothers. They have been much more vulnerable and real and willing to show the hard stuff (on their own terms) more than any of us deserve as strangers viewing them online. I am very grateful for their example.❤
Regarding child predators....i found out a colleague was a convicted child rapist about a yr and a half ago....he was working in an area where vulnerable ppl were. I reported him. He was fired immediately. They are everywhere. They are co workers, volunteers, clergy, medical professionals, neighbors, friends, family, strangers.
Im so clad i grew up in a time were my childhood was my own. I could be a kid and play and make mistakes and it wasn't put on the Internet for the world to see.
I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the book and almost resetting your "my thoughts on my sister Ruby" video. It's really refreshing. My only thought is how did you manage the thoughts that Ruby was never a good mother during the times you would swap kids for days at a time? I can imagine that was really hard to navigate.
Ruby was a terrible parent because she always put herself first from my perspective. I never thought her kids or mine were in harms way, plus she was my sister so I felt safe trading kids. The kids enjoyed it. I stopped doing it when I felt a major shift with her.
I am confused. Why are you saying your family was not overly religious when your dad was an LDS bishop? It just doesn't make sense why you would say such a thing?
I say it for a very good reason. In the end Ruby used our religion as a weapon. She twisted the words and meanings and abused her children with it but claimed to just be extremely righteous. I also said, we were/are a religious family but in a healthy well rounded way. There has to be balance. When the scales become unbalanced you get people like Jodi and Ruby who think they are prophets.
It’s the same as other family’s that one has did serious crimes the rest of the family are not responsible for there siblings action and it’s not fair on the innocent family that did nothing wrong ❤️❤️🏴
I love that you addressed this. I have wanted to support both you and Shari and the other Franke kids and I was a little torn on my own stance because I wasn't sure where either of you stood against each other. I have unfortunately watched people slander you for you to continuing to vlog the kids but I really don't ever see you doing anything click baity or using your kids to get money. I can speak for myself when I say, I watch your vlogs for you, not your kids. You are the only family vlog channel I still watch because it doesn't give me weird vibes like you're forcing your kids to be on camera. And you can tell the when the kids are filmed they genuinely want to be. Wishing you the best time in Florida this year!!
I watch your family all the time I never comment often ,but I agree you can’t compare one bad egg against all the rest of the family we see your children are happy sweetheart 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍❤️❤️
I understand where your coming from saying ruby is different, if I had a penny for everytime someone said to me, theres no way your her (My sister) sister I'd be so rich now, my sister is a horrible person, she'd do you a bad turn before she'd do you a good one. My mother is also the same were grew up In a very abusive home at the hands of our mother, our poor father suffered also. 😢 our mum use to hit him, punch him and god knows what else.
Lots of prayers for healing for the family and the kids! I will look into her book. Wish her well ❤Hey Bonnie I emailed you about something very important. I didn't know how else to contact you privately.
You can tell when your kids maybe not want to be in the vlog it more just you and that ok i so glad you have invested in your kids' future also like you said if your parents where this way more of you would be like her your mom and dad been following so long you would of at some point see it come out but they are so sweet and i really do miss seeing them enjoy florida
Considering Sherri said she is no longer sharing anything personal I don't think anyone is going to give updates. Bonnie and others will respect Sherri's wishes.
I love you! And continue to watch videos with you involved with the kids. But I haven’t been watching the very few videos that are mainly about the kids not including you. You’re right there is a difference because it is your channel.
I think an easy way to see how your family is different to 8 Passengers, is how different your children are from each other. I felt like Ruby raised her children to all be carbon copies of her ideals, any unique qualities in them weren't celebrated and encouraged. I see how different your children are while still having had a "guided" upbringing with appropriate boundries. Your wild child Lincoln immediately comes to mind. I never see his fire dimmed. Yes, you provide safe boundries and guidance, but he's been allowed to continue to develop and grow in his unique way. He might end up in A&E a few more times before he's a teenager, but he'll understand actions and consequences. A child making mistakes and getting hurt (obviously within reason) is a totally healthy way to grow up. You encourage their strengths while nurturing and developing their "weaknesses".
Family vlogging gave Ruby a big head.. she thought she could get away with anything. Evil is going to be evil no matter what.. it just gave her an ego boost.
My sister is a narcissist and I see a lot of that in Ruby. I no longer have my sister in my life, she was too toxic and caused me a lot of mental health issues. I totally understand all of what you are saying and believe your family is indeed very different to the Franke's and should not be compared.
So glad Sherri has support and a platform. Even good things can turn sour at the hands of someone who’s struggles mentally. Your heart and actions are in the right place Bonnie and Joel! Anyone who is a long time watcher KNOWS you come from a great family! I use to watch Ruby and it made me uncomfortable how she disciplined especially online. Which made one wonder I hope this isn’t worse off camera. As healing happens mountains will be moved 💞
Only wanted to include a comment to help boost your spirits. You and Joel are raising your children well, you are loving them and giving them a voice. They being employees is your way of protecting them from the business of vlogging and also giving them a career/protections/savings if they choose to be involved in the vlogs. I see you give your kids space when they go do activities or aren't in every video. You don't make them record on their own or tell them to get clips while they're away. You are supporting your family and showing the side of family vlogging that is beautiful and real. All the ups and downs involved. For all the comments getting upset with the word employee, think of a child actor that wants to go into the industry. They get protection, they get a salary, they chose to be involved. Bonnie wants to make it clear she isn't taking advantage or taking any profit away from her own children. Long message, short version. I see you loving and protecting your family and supporting your nieces and nephews through this difficult time. I hope they can join you all again, off the camera of course, and live life as a family again. Proud of all of you for getting through this together.
I am also so very proud of Shari. She has advocated for the younger kids! Happy she is engaged and happy! She deserves all the happiness.
I am glad you are supporting Shari. She is strong and I am proud of her too!

If you do read the book, prepare yourself to smile, hold your heart, cry, and want to yell a battle cry for all survivors of abusive parents.
You struck the absolute perfect balance here. I am really proud of you. ❤

Well said Bonnie…so proud of you and your family. (Also seeing lady in the background was so sweet!!) ❤
@@jowalt68 "...as much as possible" would mean something terrible.
Going to the grocery store to get food is not comparable to you sharing your children’s lives with strangers Bonnie. Stop.
You said this all so perfectly. Rooting for you and your family. Praying for healing for everyone.
And I can see your spark coming back ✨️ love always to you ❤
I finished the book within 24 hours! Loved it! So so proud of Shari! ❤
Love you Bonnie and your whole family!!!!
Also, Hi from the U.K
Nice to see you stand with your neice Shari. Much respect to you your sisters Mum and Dad and your brother.❤❤️❤️ xxx
Great point!!!!!
I thought the same.. the abuse would of been hidden so much more.
I love your family, but I disagree now. Now that we have seen what this does to children. Not just Ruby’s children. MANY children. But they are YOURS and you do get to decide. But this is where I bow out gracefully. Good luck to all of you. You are great people ❤
Thank you for sharing your thoughts❤ been watching you for years. Great family.
Just amazing and well said Bonnie. I do wish you all the very best too.
Love you, Bonnie. And I'm so proud of Shari.
Bonnie, I hope you get the well-deserved rest from this new hope you have found.
I was wondering if you were going to touch on this so glad you did Bonnie.
Are you not able to be in contact with any of them? Kevin and Shari I’m mainly referring to.
Purchased it last night. Can’t wait to read it. Proud of you Shari.
I started the book yesterday . Sherri is a great young lady . I will cont to pray for her and her family.
One of the main things I took from this was the issue of ‘wellbeing’ it’s clear your children are happy, loved and supported. One bad egg shouldn’t set the precedence for everyone. ❤
Thank you for opening up to us 💗Hope is a powerful thing.
8:40 I don't think family vlogging is inherently bad. In Ruby's case, it exposed and exacerbated a selfish cruelty that was already in that house.
Goodmorning Hollien family. Yes the book is fabulous and amazing. You are absolutely right. Hope you and your family have a piece of mind. ❤❤
Currently listening and I am blown away
Love you Bon ! ❤ I hope this trip to Florida refreshes your mind again
still praying for all of you all ❤️ we all love you guys
Great vlog, Bonnie. I'm going to read the book later. Enjoy your vacation.
Im so clad i grew up in a time were my childhood was my own. I could be a kid and play and make mistakes and it wasn't put on the Internet for the world to see.
💯 agree
I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the book and almost resetting your "my thoughts on my sister Ruby" video. It's really refreshing. My only thought is how did you manage the thoughts that Ruby was never a good mother during the times you would swap kids for days at a time? I can imagine that was really hard to navigate.
Ruby was a terrible parent because she always put herself first from my perspective. I never thought her kids or mine were in harms way, plus she was my sister so I felt safe trading kids. The kids enjoyed it. I stopped doing it when I felt a major shift with her.
Great to hear your views on this bonnie ❤ thank you ❤ can’t wait for the keys videos xxxxx
Thank you for responding Bonnie.
It’s the same as other family’s that one has did serious crimes the rest of the family are not responsible for there siblings action and it’s not fair on the innocent family that did nothing wrong ❤️❤️🏴
Hugs to you bonnie. I love how supportive you are towards shari.
Very well said Bonnie! Continued prayers for you and all of your family.❤️
Do you still speak with Ellie?
I bought the audio version, I hope you listened too.
@@dianesullivan1047 did you watch the video? Ofc she listened. 🙄
I finished the book within 24 hours! Loved it! So so proud of her! ❤
I would love to be as relaxed in life as lady napping on the couch😂
Very thoughtful Bonnie! Well said ❤
I admire how you & Joel raise your kids…your parenting is wonderful! You are an incredible family! 🤩🙏🏻
Lots of prayers for healing for the family and the kids! I will look into her book. Wish her well ❤Hey Bonnie I emailed you about something very important. I didn't know how else to contact you privately.
@bonniehoellein
I’m so sorry for the cousins.
Can I ask Bonnie if you have contact with Shari?
Maybe this idea of generational trauma could be a reference to Kevin’s family?
Beautifully said! Love to you and yours! ❤
I’m really glad you are coming out about the book! I’m proud of you
Family vlogging gave Ruby a big head.. she thought she could get away with anything.
Ppl are trying to get the book to ur kids. Do u think the family vlogging is hurting ur kids?
If my kids want to read the book they can.
Sending Love, Peace,& Blessings 🥰☮️💜
