It’s amazing how, after all these years, after hundreds of runs of the *same* leveling objective, you are still giddy and excited to start a new run. Love hearing the giggles and the excited tapping of the desk in anticipation to start.
A good amount of that is also anxiety, especially this time since I was worried about potentially missing out on Darkmoon Faire stuff. It definitely feels good to finally sit down and complete a run after tons of time spent practicing and preparing, though.
Awesome run! As for crafting xp modifiers, as far as I know, all xp bonuses apply to it (including both Dreamsurge zone bonuses). The only exceptions are from war mode because it explicitly states kill and quest xp, as well as any other modifiers that specify just mob kill xp like some holiday buffs.
Speaking of NPCs breaking, I was really confused today starting a new alt and playing thru Exile's Reach and the captain never followed me up to kill the dragon. Luckily I was mage and just like 3 shot the thing. She never came up stairs, I had to run all the way back to the stairs before Tunk to find her.
Yea, at first I thought I was going crazy when this was happening on the Beta. It seems the bug carried over into live servers with the recent patch, so tons of additional people have started noticing it.
it has to do with mounting in water. easily reproducible by standing knee deep in water (not swimming) and mounting up. hopefully it gets fixed but until then try to avoid mounting in pools of water i guess
@@swagwalter Interesting! That makes a lot of sense since I've been noticing it when I use dynamic flight form when entering the druid order hall from the dream grove teleport and one of the dragonriding world quests in the waking shores.
I love your videos. I usually hate leveling alts but remix was the perfect balance for me. I made an earthen and soon a dracthyr so I’m gonna have to get used to normal retail leveling again. It’s nice seeing someone with a fun attitude towards it while I can’t help but see it as a boring chore
i had followed your 60-70 at dragonflight launch, no server first or anything but guild first(big epeen points), but mostly what was fun was the setting up, yak, cracked, meteor, etc.Cant wait to see what you have up your sleeve this time around. Also one thing i'd like to add about it was the toon that i had chose to level up had like half the xp completed somehow i remember getting 61 off the intro quests it self not sure how it worked but i guess at 59 i got a big chunk of xp that somehow carried over
I'll have a video covering that type of prep stuff out tomorrow. By and large there's nothing incredibly new, in fact most of the existing items are less important thanks to Dragonriding. Dragonflight itself didn't add too much in the way of speedrunning items, the only notable thing is a +speed phial from alchemy. The most important thing for TWW Launch prep is gear. Normally I don't really cover best in slot gearsets because it's pointless, if someone has all the BiS trinkets etc they'll use it, if they don't then it's a moot point because you can't "just farm the best trinkets". However, the bullion system lets literally anyone farm out BiS trinket setups on brand new alts by running LFR, so I'll cover some of the optimal things to spend that on. Additionally, speed gear will be really important, both as random rolls on high ilvl pieces and a full +speed set to swap to out of combat. TWW has a bunch of indoor segments with extensive running, and traditional consumables such as Gunshoes/Radinax etc don't work on those areas.
Once you hit 40, you just teleport to 70 because of the xp rate increase versus the reduced xp req per level as you get higher. Feels so much better than the lower section. I've always read Xuen as Zoo-en, not Swen, but maybe that's just me.
im wondering how you feel about TWW now that its released. ive been enjoying it myself, for sure. besides that, insane work on this run, it was amazing to watch!
It's fine. I don't think it's a great expansion, but it's aggressively mediocre. Thankfully they managed to fix a lot of the major bugs on the beta, and EA launch was smooth enough that it didn't impact me. Warbands are cool, having account-wide progress is massive QoL (hard to REALLY call that an expansion feature because lets be real, it should have existed a long time ago, but I'll throw them a bone). Class design changes GENERALLY speaking are an improvement. Nerub-ar Palace still looks good overall, but some bosses have me concerned. In a surprise twist, I've also found myself enjoying the music a lot, which is something I generally don't put a ton of weight into, but it's worth noting when it's good. Early expansion gearing is still a complete trainwreck, that hasn't changed. Delves are still garbage content that isn't enjoyable at all. M+ season (both the base dungeons & affixes) is scaring me, so far I've mostly disliked the dungeons I've run, at best I'm neutral on them. Stonevault is the only dungeon I think has potential (MAYBE Priory too, idk), rest seem kinda awful. I've heard really bad things from people who did M+ testing, haven't seen anything to indicate it won't be as bad as people say. World content is still complete dogwater, notably worse than DF which itself was not great, and they've expressed an interest in expanding solo content but failed to deliver with world content or delves. Hero Talents, while successful in very specific specs, are still a balancing nightmare for many others. The entire idea of Hero Talents is conceptually flawed and should have been reworked, but here we are. The expansion also has an overall sense of unpolishedness (not a word but you get the idea), and many things are just really janky. Lots of small bugs or broken features that aren't enough to fuck over the game (AH issues last week being a notable exception), but *just* enough to frustrate you when you encounter it. This is a clear consequence of rushing the expansion out the door, and it's a shame, because it could have felt a lot better if it was given the time necessary. I'll mention that I don't really find the story to be terribly compelling, but I recognize that it is an improvement in some areas. I personally feel the story is getting unwarranted praise, because in many areas it relies way too heavily on cliches and awkward character dynamics, but hey, it isn't Shadowlands. I acknowledge that I have an abnormally high bar for quality storytelling, and TWW still falls pretty far short of that bar, but it's acceptable/good to many, so that's noteworthy imo. Ultimately, I think the important thing is that despite a lot of the problems/bullshit, I am having more fun than I was at Dragonflight's launch. We'll have to see how things shake up in raid, since that's what I really care about, but I am hopeful I'll enjoy the tier. I definitely think this expansion has more potential than Dragonflight, and definitely isn't Shadowlands quality, but I'm not completely sold on it yet. After launch stuff settles and raid begins, I can't see anything in this expac being able to hold my attention outside of raid, and I still plan on trying out other MMOs in the long term. Also, launch quality aside, it's still extremely frustrating dealing with Blizzard's apparent complete disregard for their playtesters. Obviously I also have the false ban to give me extra reason to despise the company, but they made my life a living hell during this beta cycle, and I'm not going to magically forget that just because they fixed all of the major bunchs immediately before launch. Outside of raid, playing this game is proving to be more exhausting than it's worth the vast majority of the time, so as previously mentioned I'll shift my focus elsewhere.
Hey as someone who loves leveling his alts thank you for everything ! I'm following your routes religiously, any idea when the updated version to 70 will be out on your site ?
Two questions sir! What addons are you using to level and to show the chest spawns? And second question, is there somewhere that you list all the items you use to level quickly? I.e. food, rocket boots etc
Oh dear, I really hope blizz doesn't launch TWW with game-breaking bugs to story quests. If they do that it's a really effective way to get people to quit before even hitting max level. Has there ever been a time when you literally couldn't complete a campaign in the past?
A few times, yes. That being said they usually fix it extremely quickly (within hours) when it occurs during launch. Most of the issues are very easy to solve, they just don't give a fuck about players on the beta and wait an entire week to get around to it. It's pretty insulting considering campaign testing is what 90% of players access the beta for, and this time they literally charged money for it.
