Worth mentioning if you weren't aware, the white dragonspawn is currently visible in Retail. They are sometimes one of the Holiday Celebrants that spawn in the Anniversary hub. The Lion's Rest song at the end somehow fits perfectly for the story of the white dragonflight. A long lost dragonflight that may have existed without our character's knowledge and will never be seen.
Indeed! However the original Green Dragonspawn never made it into the game, it was replaced by another variant before the game released. Sorry for not being too clear on this
Grat video, I love it. A couple of clarifications, tho: - In the Dragon Isles from Dragonflight, white dragons do exist, can be seen around and can also be obtained as a customization for players' mounts. - Proto Whelps from Dragonflight can certainly be white and are multiple instances of them. - As @LordProteus also pointed out, a white dragonspawn (with the classic model) can be sometimes seen in the 20th anniversary grounds in Tanaris. I think they are considered just albinos and not a separate Flight. My personal opinion is that this skin was reserved for notable individuals to stand out (a reskin is cheaper than a new model, specially in vanilla times) or simply as a way to reflect that they were old.
I have an idea that the infinites were supposed to be the corrupted white dragonflight. Why do I think this? They look like inverted colors. Like a negative of a photo. If you reinvert them you get a white dragon with some bright orange flesh.
@@DarthCuddlefluff No, if you go into photoshop and invert the colors of a vanilla bronze dragon you get the colors of the infinite flight. They probably added black to make it more interesting. Given infinites were released in BC and have always had time powers, there's no way they intended two dragonflights to be guardians of time. Especially given they only existed in the caverns of time dungeon.
I never knew all that stuff from classic regarding dragonscale leatherworking, I only ever used the onyxia scale cloak to get that treasure in DF, and even then I resorted to buying one!
I really much prefer the unfinished Dragon Isles and Emerald Dream over what we got. The prototype look gives it that eerie and mysterious feeling that suits magical places that were never meant to be visited by most people. Instead, Dragon Isles was a rehash of old zones, albeit a good rehash, but nothing stood out like that giant octopus temple in the early prototype. Same with Emerald Dream, it was basically Val'Shara 2.0 instead of a weird, uncanny dream realm.
The albino drake was their placeholder for protodrake before Wrath release. It was recycled to a mount reward to kick up the hype about achievements, It's entirely possible the white models are just stock textures made in case of future developments. I'm not sure it's "missing" but rather "never used". The original story for the dragonflights always listed the 5 dragon flights from Day of the Dragon, so if there would have been a white dragon flight, it would have been an offshoot, a mutant flight, or something like that. Maybe the chromatics were white at some points ? It also never was explained where the gold dragon thing was from... The product of the Dragon Soul when used by Thrall and the aspects in Cataclysm. Draenor was proof that they may change direction a lot while designing the story, so I wouldn't be surprised all those colors are just leftovers of cut out or reskinned storylines.

How does this tie in with the white/silver slytherdrakes found by Wrathion and Sabellian in the quest line that leads up to us getting the Winding Slyther Drake mount? I've also found it very odd that when you are standing on the ground floor of the Seat of the Aspects, there are 6 doors(?) on the sides. On one side there are doors for the black, blue and green flights, on the opposite sides for the red and bronze flights. In between those two are two white banners, with the colours of all 5 flights. I kind of sort of hoped that all the efforts of the players/dragons would lead to an amalgamation of all the flights, resulting in a white (or silver, with all the Tyr stuff) dragon type, that was uncorrupted and untainted by past events and spearheading the future for all dragonkind. I didn't mind getting the white options for my existing dragons, but somehow it felt like there was meant to be more.
The slitherdrakes were experiments from Deathwing, not dragons. They were some kind of wind serpent before he altered them. As well as in flavor text for items like the white scales and I think the albino drake, Alexstrasza is quoted to say "How different would things be if the titans chose to elevate one more dragonflight." Prior to the aspects and the designated flights, dragons came in all colors of the rainbow. They did however shoot themselves in the foot with the Aspects, as there was the potential for 6 aspects--7 considering Eonar blessed both Ysera and Alexstasza-- but I think there was no rational role to give them, such as Life, Magic, Earth etc.
