My mom worked home health and I went to work with her lots and the people she cared for become like family. Some old people in there 90s loved life and don't want to die and some hate life with a passion. I asked one son of a 98 year old woman mom cared for why she was so against life cause compared to many her age my mom took care of she was in good health and walking. He said she was always a negative person and hated life and everything in life . She was the kind of person saying she wanted to die if the mail came late. Let's be brutally honest here, she wanted to go. She was taking that many naps in the hopes she didn't wake up... On another note, I agree with not treating old people like kids, that interviewer was so condescending.
Flossie grew up working on her dad's farm, got her first job washing dishes at 12, then got married to a 30 year old man at 15. She had it rough for a lot of her life. RIP Flossie.

+R.D. Dragon umm no she is extremely OLD, you can't just expect people to put on the fake bubbly act for their entire lives especially at that age! At that age, you can finally pretty much do/act however you want (unless its illegal/immoral/unethical of course), for example, drink as much as you want, become a painkiller addict, sleep all day, tell everyone to F off, etc etc
Lmao I like how her quote was that she literally doesn’t fight dying and the reporters were saying it like it was some philosophy for living a long life
The more I watch, the more I love Flossie. That poor incredible woman. Those "journalists" are being such abusive pieces of human garbage and inauthenticity.
+Nathan Kim but you can tell she doesn't want to be there and that the home is trying to use her (quite possibly taking advantage/manipulating her) as an advertisement/for free publicity.
OnceUponAPiano Maybe she was manipulated in to giving the interview. But who knows? Commenting on what you said earlier, the reporter was doing her job. How exactly was she being abusive?
+Nathan Kim In trying to do her job (it wasn't her fault individually; I don't think she's a bad person) she was so obviously inauthentic, desperately shoving the mic in Flossie's clearly exhausted face and pushing silly crap like asking if there are any magical foods that can make us all like to 110. I was also referring to the journalists in the studio; they all were patronizing and condescending, and they treated her like she was mentally inferior.
+OnceUponAPiano Shoving a mic in her face? She was barely audible! Of course it makes sense to shove the mic in her face. How were the anchors being disrespectful? Also, you said in your last comment that they are not bad people. Yet, you called them human trash in a previous comment.
When you think about it, it's kinda sad. You grow old and you're children just throw you into a nursing home. In most other cultures this is unheard of, your parents stay with you and your siblings until they die, you might keep them for a year or two then your sibling take turns, or if you don't have the space, you send money to help a sibling that does have them in their home, a nursing home is the last resort, when you're broke or homeless, but other than that, sending them to a nursing home is a disgrace. You guys are trying to be cute in the comments saying she "doesn't give fu*k", but why is that? Because, instead of living with the kids she raised and loved, and seeing her grand children grow up in front of her eyes, and having a strong relationship with them as well, she's stuck in a nursing home, just so she can get occasional visits. That's heartbreaking. Since she's old she might not show as outward emotion nearly as much, but I garuntee you she's not happy with her children and doesn't want to see any of them, because this is basically an obligatory piece of shit party, you can't even bring her home or be around earlier, instead, you have some stupid reporter condescendingly interview her, just so you can show up for a day, then leave, and then visit her like once a week or maybe once every two weeks. American culture is pretty sad and lonely.
It's the byproduct of the idea that adults who still live w/ their parents are complete losers. We see it get made fun of all the time ("Ma! The meatloaf!"). In other countries, it's not uncommon for three generations to live under the same roof.
***** No, that has nothing to do with it, because in this case, the parents are living with the children, who are already successful, and have their own home. It's just the difference in how each culture values family life and the elderly.
That reporter reminds me of these sorority girls who volunteer to 'help' at Special Olympics, but the 'help' is that condescending help...that "Awww, you are sooooo adorable! " volunteerism.
It's actually really crazy because she got to see both the world wars and she got to experience music change though mostly the 20th century. I just think that's amazing
my grandma died at 103. was completely in her sound mind until the end. worked until she was 93. she was born in 1896. she was hilarious. once my mom tucked her in too tight and my grandma yelled "diane! did you knit me into the bed? !" lol good stuff
I feel like Flossie didn't really consent to this interview; she clearly does not want to answer questions and/or is not capable of answering. Shoving the mic in her face when she is trying to drink her coffee (or whiskey) is also rude.
This is hilarious....my great grandfather lived to be a hundred. I can tell you, he was just like this. Man of few words, in no big hurry to do anything. Just wanted people to leave him be.
Isn’t it funny how funny old people are without trying to be funny? Enjoyed seeing this although Ms Flossie only wanted to be left alone. GOD bless her.!!!
When my grandma was about to turn 100, a local newscast came to our house and interviewed her. She behaved the same way as Flossie, she couldn't care less. She died at the age of 100. We all miss her, although her journey could not have ended in a better way.
Why couldn't you just level with her and ask her some interesting questions? Like maybe her opinion on something, what her greatest accomplishment was, if she still cares about anything, what is it? You can't ignore the fact that she's got two days to live. She's lived 110 years. She can see straight through your bullshit, so just be cool with her.
Yes, none of the usual stuff about the changes that happened in her lifetime, that isn't about HER. What if someone called you on your birthday and asked you what your secret to still being alive is and how you feel about the World events since you were born? And offered you promotional coffee mug?
Many people in the US feel awkward around the elderly because they rarely *are* around them and don't know how they should treat them. It's the same situation with older single people who feel awkward around children because they never had any of their own. In other cultures where households are intergenerational and the elderly are a constant presence, older people are treated with a little more dignity.
The beauty of old age is that you don't have to please anyone. Talk when you want, don't say anything when you don't want to. Say what's on your mind. Lol. RIP
But, like a child, you have fewer freedoms. My grandma killed herself by starvation in a nursing home because they wouldn't allow her to smoke, drink alcohol, or go home if she did.

she wasn't forced, she looks like the wants the lime light.
R.D. Dragon she's a 110. Everybody says fuck it at that age. Nobody wanna live anymore.
Lmao I like how her quote was that she literally doesn’t fight dying and the reporters were saying it like it was some philosophy for living a long life
I wander what her family is doing, and still watching g this video.
+John Vicks wow. Sorry for your loss. I'm glad she made it for as long as she did.
Flossie Dickey coming out with that new mixtape 2016
hot caffeinated beverage & nap EP
hype hype
lol
Compiled of nothing but slow ballads, mixtape was called Something to nap to Vol. 1
"you sound like a very busy lady" *silence*
at 110 this lady doesn't have the time or energy for stupid questions lol
lol she's like leave me the fuck alone....
right lol my hero
Thats just how Flossie was sometimes I'd come in at night and she'd be crying. Worked night shift at the cheney care center.
DesmondCreighton so fucking sad. you can see it all over her face :(
Serious question: Do you think some people (like the ones you may have worked with) simply lived too long and would be better off just dieing?
The desperation of that bubble-headed field reporter, and Flossie's unrelenting disinterest. It's perfect comedy timing.
Reporter: Flossy how were you able to live to 110 years old?
Flossy: Just live brah
GOD that reporter is unbearable. Let the woman talk!
I'd bear her no problem.
She had to talk! The old lady wouldn't say anything!
Foehammer rotflmfao!!!!!
Flossie was tired, she didn't want to talk, she would rather be napping
OMG, Foehammer, that's funny. I'm still laughing. Thanks.
Relatable. I just want to nap too flossie
This is absolutely hilarious - RIP Flossie! I appreciate your love of naps and have taken up the same hobby myself :)
Tru
so?
It's the byproduct of the idea that adults who still live w/ their parents are complete losers. We see it get made fun of all the time ("Ma! The meatloaf!"). In other countries, it's not uncommon for three generations to live under the same roof.
***** No, that has nothing to do with it, because in this case, the parents are living with the children, who are already successful, and have their own home. It's just the difference in how each culture values family life and the elderly.
ChillsandThrills I'm talking about parents who end up being alone in their old age b/c their kids moved out long ago.
I love how she’s just sitting there drinking her cup.
I bet is tea. Lol
Flossie is amazing and inspirational! May she rest in peace 🕊💘💞💖🥺
:(
I couldn't help cracking up over this. The poor old woman was like "please someone kill me". Poor Flossie..haha
She is in a better places.
Let this lady NAP already!
maybe her children are bad
I wanna smoke weed with Flossie
Go listen to the song and smoke weed to it. Flossie Dickey Bounce. Look it up.
God smoked her later that year so you're not going to be able to do that.
Michael Bornemann YES!!!!!!
She'd probably fall asleep after one hit
@@MeanT241985 or one whiff of second hand smoke

That moment when you realise that your grandchildren have grandchildren.
Underrated comment lmao
That reporter reminds me of these sorority girls who volunteer to 'help' at Special Olympics, but the 'help' is that condescending help...that "Awww, you are sooooo adorable! " volunteerism.
So sad to hear the news today. RIP Flossie. Legend. Sleep well now x
Hello Natasha how are you doing and how is the weather over there with you
She passed 10 months after this interview in Nov. She wanted that nap for good that time. 🌝🙏
I can relate to this woman in so many ways
It's actually really crazy because she got to see both the world wars and she got to experience music change though mostly the 20th century. I just think that's amazing
I agree. I can only imagine having that much life experience.
Well, who knows what happends in the future? The generation now will see the world change too.
Well at least she's happily taking her nap now.
Daniel Mayo O.o thats dark
"I don't fight it, I just live it" is my new life motto, THANK YOU FLOSSIE!!
Poor women. Had to watch the world go to shit.
lmao
absolutely.
She saw hitler in power and blacks discriminated against, I think the world was pretty shitty when she got here.
Right, because the world was awesome in the 1920s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. Derp.
Damn the world is just a fucking awful place
I can relate to this so much and I’m only 29. Watching this as I’m getting ready to take a nap.
That old woman was so done with life oml she's so relatable. XD But that news reporter tho, kinda treating her like a 12 year old.. smh
Apparently, the key to living that long is to not give a fuck.
Maybe it's rude to address her name Flossie like that. Maybe Ma'am would have been better
She probably prefers it and that's why they call her that.
What? Why? That's her name. You address people by their names.
Right.😂pft
I hate anyone calling me ma'am. Just ugh.
I love it how see didn't answer Questions 😂 #Savage
RIP Flossie Dickey you will never be forgotten you are finally in heaven:)
*That reporter's lucky Flossie didn't dump that coffee all over her*
Hello Jessica how are you doing and how is the weather over there with you
let her drink her tea in peace
like for real .
my grandma died at 103. was completely in her sound mind until the end. worked until she was 93. she was born in 1896. she was hilarious. once my mom tucked her in too tight and my grandma yelled "diane! did you knit me into the bed? !" lol good stuff
I feel like she’s purposely ignoring the lady ! She’s legendary ! God bless her
I feel like Flossie didn't really consent to this interview; she clearly does not want to answer questions and/or is not capable of answering. Shoving the mic in her face when she is trying to drink her coffee (or whiskey) is also rude.
This lady doesn't have the time or the energy for stupid ass questions lol
The interviewer talks like she's some sort of zoo animal
Or a child
She kind of is a zoo animal, minus the part where people come to see them.
She's basically the zoo equivalent of the local animal your shitty zoo has to put in a cage to pad their animal numbers.
This is hilarious....my great grandfather lived to be a hundred. I can tell you, he was just like this. Man of few words, in no big hurry to do anything. Just wanted people to leave him be.
God news reporters are so annoying
+David Pessotto This is pret--
110 year old women are boring as fuck
+Shruk she was funny
+David Pessotto Right?? It's like leave her alone, you ratchet-asses!! -_-
Old people are the coolest people on earth.
Yep and too bad I will never become old, I do too many drugs ☹
Isn’t it funny how funny old people are without trying to be funny? Enjoyed seeing this although Ms Flossie only wanted to be left alone. GOD bless her.!!!
When my grandma was about to turn 100, a local newscast came to our house and interviewed her. She behaved the same way as Flossie, she couldn't care less. She died at the age of 100. We all miss her, although her journey could not have ended in a better way.
aw
Why couldn't you just level with her and ask her some interesting questions? Like maybe her opinion on something, what her greatest accomplishment was, if she still cares about anything, what is it? You can't ignore the fact that she's got two days to live. She's lived 110 years. She can see straight through your bullshit, so just be cool with her.
Yes, none of the usual stuff about the changes that happened in her lifetime, that isn't about HER. What if someone called you on your birthday and asked you what your secret to still being alive is and how you feel about the World events since you were born? And offered you promotional coffee mug?
She had a perfect ending and then she asks this horrible question and Flossie’s answer is legendary 2:36
Lmao Flossie didn't give a fuuuuuuuck 😂😂😂
Watch you're profaaanitaay
People are so condescending to old people and it's so fucking sad. I'll never understand it.
SuperGreg45 I notice this too. It's like we treat them like children- I hate it.
Lmfao she was not having it !
