The battle with the two Abdicators with just Cait Sith was one of the most hellacious parts of the game. Another major obstacle to overcome to finally meet Vincent.
Idk if the connection was there in the original, but from the Assess description it seems like Forgotten Specimen was Hojo's failed attempt at creating what he ended up turning Vincent into: a shape-shifting creature
In the original, he's just known as "lost number" which implies he was an experiment for the Reunion so i think that was the assumption, but then Crisis Core retconned it. Maybe Rebirth is retconning it again lol. But I don't think "forgotten specimen" is supposed to be that old though. I'll have to read the description again.
The chat saying his transformations didn't add much to warrant losing control haven't seen Death Gigas solo bosses yet... Especially Chaos just steamrolls most enemies. The only instances where you don't want to use his limit break is if you have some broken materia combinations on him or when you're fighting the WEAPON super bosses.

Finaly the best part of the game too bad that i got the Gallian Beast fight spoiled(Powerpyx uploaded all the bosses around the release day of the game and i'm subscribed to his channel) since we can't have nice things these days.i did keep a save before entering Vincent's room so i can rewatch it over and over lol.
When you look at OG. When he hands over the black materia. He is practically a sephiroth clone (just without the robes). Then comes back after Mideel. So I think it will happen. But he pulls out of it.
I mean, they also refuse to do literally anything when Cloud is clearly in a trance and doing bad things at Sephiroth's behest, so them not questioning that much is par for the course.

Hojo being a bad scientist is canon in the original. He gets most things wrong and most of his successes are stolen from others.
