All hail to the upland king. Stellar stuff Eric!
😆🙏 thanks man! 👊
I'm sorting thru my equipment for our Kansas bobwhite opener and watching your video this morning. Awesome
Ah Bobwhites…can’t wait!
another great one Eric, keep em comin
I give you props for driving American. For nostalgia purposes I’d love to see you shooting a double gun, preferably a side by side. Good hunting my friend.
For me, the gun is just a tool for putting birds on the ground for my dogs. That said, I’d still like to have a 28 ga O/U someday. Maybe I’ll get a gun sponsor 😁
Maaan im fucking tired but i can't resist watching this.... welcome back man❤
Good to be back! 👍
That Tubby retrieve at 8:13 was fire! 👏🙌

Was hoping you would post your hunts. You and your dogs are just the best to watch, Tubs is got to be the best retriever I have ever watched. Terrain looks really green for September and the bird numbers are really up in Montana and in North Dakota where we go. Keep the videos coming, Thanks again Eric.

Funny coincidence, I had your video show up on my TH-cam feed and then after watching it I flip over to Facebook and the second post I see is a NSTRA high point standing update with you and your dogs in the standings. Great footage by the way!

Love your videos man! Going to Montana with my Dad in 2 weeks! Hoping to see half as many birds as you! Is there any way you could show how you finish birds that are still alive? Everyone says wring the neck I just don't really know how. Thanks
Beauty as always sir!!
Thanks bro! When will we get to see the next AZQA video?!? 😉
@@ericforrester1 Ah Man...I hope soon. Had some technical difficulties up in MT so trying to see if I can piece something together worth watching :) ID should be good though. So much in such a short time. Was Great to see you again up there man!
I’ve been there 🤬…until next time! 🍻
Nice shootin’ Eric, best of luck and safe travels rest of season 👍🏻

Tubinator, I like that.
Bravooo cok güzel av olmuş tebrikler kazasız belasız bir sezon olsun inşallah bursadan selam ve sevgiler
Teşekkürler!
Eric do you believe all dogs have the same caliber of nose?I have seen in my experince they all have the same scenting ability. The dogs with the brains learn how to use their noses more efficently.I really enjoy your videos.
Yes I agree. Most dogs have a similar ability to smell. It’s how they use, interpret, and react to that scent that separates them. Kudos to you for recognizing it. 👍
Mr. Eric, you're the best. I really admire you. I just bought a GoPro 11. The birds appear so far away on my video clips, actually they're not that far. Could you please check my settings and correct me? Thanks in advance.

Great Eric. Looks like better ammo this year compared to last !!. Is CeCe semi retired now ?. Looks like bird numbers out there are crazy. Huns and Sharps in SD the last couple of years have exploded. Will find out 1st wk of Nov.
Cici hunts less but she can still bring it. She can’t run like she used to but she’s still smart as a whip!
amazing video but would love to see the shotkam
Sorry man…I have a GoPro, phone, and now a drone. I can’t deal with any more gadgets!
@@ericforrester1 That's ok I still love the videos
Curious what your preferred load and choke is for the sharpies. I've never got to hunt them, but they are on the bucket list.
Sharpies are the easiest birds to bring down so it doesn’t take much. I use open chokes and target loads.
Dogs super cath me 👌👌👌
I second the disposal of bird carcasses at the parking spots. Up in hells Canyon this year by the creek heads people leaving the chukar carcasses guts, laying all over. My young dog picking them up to eat them, not a fan of it. Also, young guys are driving utvs & walking down the reservior road with labs shooting coveys headed to water. I'm 42 getting my packs on to hike up so i pack it up amd drive to the end of the road to hunt up. Ethics are need more than ever with the amount of upland hunters now. Good 250 yard retrieve for tubs thats the best assest for chukar country here.
I totally agree, thanks!
Great video! You’re getting me pumped up. My season starts in the UP in late October. 3 weeks and counting!!!!
Side question. I know you breed wire hairs but is Tubby a GSP?
He is a slick coat wirehair. Good luck up north!
He's beautiful and a top notch hunting dog. Great work on your videos sir, I look forward to every video.
Thanks you!
Awesome video. Is there a video out there where you go through your truck setup and kennel in detail?
Yes there is. On my Patreon page. www.patreon.com/ericforrester
Yep Found it thanks. Going to be taking 6 dogs on a trip coming up. I like way you split the kennel into 3 sections. @@ericforrester1
Wow what an awesome opening hunt
Great work done by tubs and young dogs
Hows seesee doing ?
Hope she is fine
She is getting older but she can still get it done. You’ll see her in a future episode. 👍
@@ericforrester1
Good luck 👍
@@ericforrester1
Is she older than tubby ?
Yes. She is 11. Tubbs is 6.
Didnt you get three that first flush?
Just 2.
Tubby is a retrieving machine.
What shells do you like to run on these hunts?
Nothing special. Just target loads.
What size shot do you use? I'm goint to MT in Septber for the opener!I have a place in Lambert to stay.
7.5
One dogs slowly
I'm in MT right now for the first time, 2nd year upland hunting with my small munsterlander. Any tips on areas you like to hunt?
The Montana website has some great maps to help you get in the better areas.
Awesome video!!!! All public land?
Yep 👍
what kind of dogs would you recommend for someone who wants to get back into bird hunting with an older hunter our last dog was an English pointer
I breed wirehairs and they can do it all…but I would start with what you would like to hunt and start narrowing it down from there. Some breeds are more specialized than others. If you want to know more about our dogs ➡️ ghostpointwirehairs.com
What brand of kennels do use in back of your truck ?
I made them.
love the videos, do you hunt public or private land?
All publicly accessible.
What about snakes there? Do you meet them often?
They are definitely around.
From someone that has never hunted Montana, how do you pick the property to hunt? Can you share what part of the state? Thank you.
I never discuss areas I hunt to avoid hot spotting because it can happen.
First learn the necessary habitat, e-scout, live scout, then release the hounds! 🐕👍
As a Montana resident, thank you for this! @@ericforrester1
😁👍
@@BeejmilesI also thank you for this.
Are you hunting public land?
Yes
You went through Nodak to hunt Sharptail? Looks like you do well in MT but Nodak is the king for Sharpies.
I’ve been there also

You wound a lot of birds.
excellent vid as always but to kill a bird with a semiautomatic is a disgrace get a side by side or over under my friend
I think you made some awesome TH-cam videos but I really don’t see what the purpose was of filming those carcasses where they were at. Anti-hunters take that kind of footage and turn around and use it against us so giving them ammunition to use against us doesn’t seem super responsible respectfully
Finally, the wait is over br 🦧🐶🐶&🐶
😁👊
