No, of course not, but many make sense of it, or discard rifles entirely when it doesn't fit at all. Rifles are a remnant from a bygone era and should be phased out, especially if it upends the show's selected theme. In this show, rifle and sabre tricks filled in when there was nothing to do-- tricks replaced substance in the middle part of this show. Tricks had nothing to do with Matisse, in tone, style, history or thematic context, unless they were to progressively drop them, which they didn't.
@@jesuspectre9883 Wow. I'm really humiliated. Your argument sucks btw. I guess everyone should just do a show about guns. And it's not like every corps uses weapons every year with very few exceptions. You are basically mad that the guard is doing guard work???
Although they are always good, if you watch closely at the M&M you will see the execution is not top notch. Therefore it is very obvious that the judges are biased and give them the top GE scores every year and cheat the more deserving corps.
Every time I listen to this at work I’m like… damn that’s the end? I can’t believe they won but I also forget music isn’t all that important in DCI anymore
The music itself wasn't the only important thing in DCI since the beginning. Their music content is more demanding then multiple other groups as well as the execution of it. They got 2nd in brass on finals night from 1st in content but 3rd in achievement, which makes sense with how their and others runs went.
The second I heard that Phantom Blood intro I almost passed out.
Jojo reference hahaha
That intro is one of the most best sounding intros I've ever heard; it's such a bop. Their front ensemble is sooo talented.
They did such a good job earlier in the year! I hope this next season goes great for the blue devils! 😊
I died at the jojo part
The fact that they have 4 tenors is amazing
Yea cause the 5th got kicked out

is that a jojos reference?!

Everyone talking about jojo, but nobody talking about TesseracT 😭

The scream tho 3:44
Blue Devils have had some great performances, this was not one of them.
Is this a Jojo reference?
4:14 - 4:45
Thank you!
I don't understand how color guard tricks support the subject and theme.
I'm sure it'd more to fit the music tbh
@@isekai_neo 👍Yes, it's more to fill the lack of audience participation and to heighten visual interest. But does it fit, thematically?
When has throwing a gun ever fit a show theme?

Drum Corps? It should be renamed Field Orchestra and Head-banging Guitar Corps.
How do judges score these shows now?!
