That's one cool mowing machine! If I had the $475k, I'd buy one. Would have to do a lot of custom cutting to pay it off..... & probably mow lawns with it at night.... but I'd buy one. :vD
The Cougar is an impressive mower. Unfortunately since it has been out of production for over 10 years and parts availability is getting hard for them there are less and less in operation.
Hi there just subscribed thank you for all the awesome videos am learning a lot. Do you know if there is anything out there today that is comparable to this machine guess its the 45" width? thank you.
Thank you for following Big Tractor Power . I post a new video almost every day of the year. Over the past 8 years the largest self peopled has been a Krone Big M at 32 ft. Recently for Europe only at his time Krone has released a Big M 500 that mows 43 ft.
you know I miss runnin the cougar but yes the cost was a big factor same as oxbos self propelled mergers cant justify that cost when you can use tractors for multiple applications
If it wouldn’t of been this channel I would’ve thought that the thumbnail picture was some sort of crazy clickbait picture!!! That thing looks crazy(a good crazy!!)
It does look like one of those ridiculous click bait pictures with 20 tires on a tractor or 10 unloading augers on a combine. The good thing is this is the real deal. 😁👍
I run a NH HW340 with a 16ft disc header (videos on my channel) but i've wanted to make a butterfly mower set up for a 4wd, front would run from a pump (like my HW340 does) and the rear pair could be PTO, it would come out at 48ft, will let you know if i get anywhere.
Very cool. I saw a Deere 9520 in 2003 with a Hesston 16ft mower mounted on a Grouser blade mount on the front and a 16ft pull type Hesston in tow. It was cool.
Small Germany is big, when it comes to machines. Claas produces the largest combine harvester, Krone the largest maize chopper, Liebherr the biggest cranes and hydraulic- excavators in the world. Fendt, John Deere and Deutz- Fahr have the most modern Tractor factories of the world in Germany. Mercedes Benz the largest truck production facility of the world and every second ocean vessel engine comes from Germany. In southern Germany we have in an circle of 200 kilometers 400 world market leaders of any industry.
Its a cool machine but i can see why they discontinued them $400,000+ is alot just for mowing hay...at least with triples ya can use a tractor you already have
That thing must obliterate baby foals. Lol path of destruction. When I'm cutting our hay field I try to watch for foals but inevitably loose one per year. Save quite a few others so I can shoot them during deer season.
I seen the thumbnail and immediatly thought " someones made another cheaty mod for Farm Sim 19 " :O :D
Right there with you lol
We need this on console for farm sim
@@adamj3579 It would probably take up 50 slots
@@Tsurnari that isn’t that many though becuase the John Deere 2020 pack tractors do
I dont have it on console and I dont know what a slot is
I enjoy watch this machine working in the field.
😁👍👍
Drone footage was awesome, very nice job.😎
Thank you for watching the aerial view definitely helps show the size of this machine.
German machine's are awesome,
It’s a solid machine.
Now that's the "cougar" i like 😁
😁👍
I've been mowing all day with a 2 meter drum mower...I've covering the same swath in 7 rounds...?
What tractor and mower are you running?
Great Vlog, love the Claas machine, I can understand why the triple mowers are more popular, Thanks
The triple mower definitely change the marketplacece The triple mower definitely change the marketplace
The king of mowers 👑👑👑
It sure is. It is too bad they retired them from production.
There's something oddly satisfying about watching those mowers in action
They are neat machines and the field smells great when they are at work.
Hey BTP I hope you got the rest of this harvest.. Great work as usual! Thanks!
Absolute Beast
👍👍
I need that, I would be done in my fields in 20 minutes 😎
Maybe that is why they stopped producing it. Everyone was done in 20 minutes and got bored ;-)
45', wow. I remember thinking our 7.5' New Idea Cutditioner was huge.
I have Uni System literature featuring the Cutdioner. 😁👍
@W Cooman not the only 45 foot out there
That machine gets the job done very fast👍😁
This is the funniest looking machine I’ve ever seen 😂
shame they are not made anymore amazing machine
It is a monster machine it would be neat if they still made it.
@@bigtractorpower atleast we got the big m 500
Fantastica macchina👍👏😊🙋♂️💚🌈
What a beast! TY BTP
Its an impressive mower.
Thx for sharing
Thank you for watching. The CLAAS Cougar is quite the mower to see in action
That is the best mower I have seen.
😁👍👍
These are AWESOME!
GOAT!!!
Claas Cougar and Claas triples. We love are Claas Cougar best machine ever built in a blink of a eye you can mow a lot of acres
They are an impressive mower. It is too bad that they were retired from production.
Now that is what I call a LAWNMOWER!
It will mow some grass in a hurry.
Cool video and cool piece of machinery. What I don't understand is why isn't that farmer utilizing all 45' of that mower.
I am not sure.
Very interesting you can use the mowers independently raising or lowering just the sections that you need
a 9' sickle mower ~ sure would be nice to have some grass like that, we haven't had anything green around here since mid july
That is a great idea forsafety for moving the mower and 45 feet at a time, is alot of ground to cover at one time.
Hi Jason as always great Video ... had a Claas SF and Consul Combine way back in Germany
At around 10:12 you can really see the advantages of being able to control the individual mowers. Really cool!
It’s an impressive mower. Thank you for watching.
That's a very impressed machine
😁👍
This is a Mower! 💪😊👍
Thank you for watching.
We got out of hay at the same time Dad decided to semi retire and the beef cattle left. That was back in 2010.....
Fantastic, looks like it going to fly away
😁👍👍
I wonder if I can barrow this thing to cut my grass 😂😂
That would be The envy of the neighborhood for mowing lawns
Matthew Taliaferro the harvester could be right behind the merger
Now that’s quite the mower!! We sure have come along way from say the Farmall H and a 6’ sickle-bar mower. Cheers
It’s amazing how machinery has grown in the past 70 years.
i need this man i could mow the lawn in 2 minutes
👍👍
5 mower decks? wow, this thing is a monster
It is a big mower for sure.
That's a lot of moving parts!
It kind a looks like an octopus when it unfolds.
That's one cool mowing machine! If I had the $475k, I'd buy one. Would have to do a lot of custom cutting to pay it off..... & probably mow lawns with it at night.... but I'd buy one. :vD
You could get a lot of lawns mowed a day with this monster. 😁👍
It's now a life goal to operate one of these at some point.
The Cougar is an impressive mower. Unfortunately since it has been out of production for over 10 years and parts availability is getting hard for them there are less and less in operation.
Impressive!!!!
😁👍
That's an industrial strength mower, wow!
😁👍👍
Cant imagine what that sound must be like in the cabin.
It’s quite.
Nice

@@bigtractorpower Thank you so much for your time and reply.
Does alfalfa grow again like grass or do you cut it once and that's it?
Alfalfa is harvested a few times a year. In Wisconsin 3-4 times a year. In a southern climate it can be harvested 7 times a year.
Great videos! Question...how do you record the sound during the drone shots? Mic on the ground?
A go pro mounted on the tractor and chisel plow.
bigtractorpower Thank you!
you know I miss runnin the cougar but yes the cost was a big factor same as oxbos self propelled mergers cant justify that cost when you can use tractors for multiple applications
Dad, i wanna be a CLAAS COUGAR 1400 45ft Wide Mower when i grow up
Wow the machines pretty cool rotating have that’s why I thinking out of the box
It’s an impressive mower.
Works best with young guy driving?
Always wanted to try a cougar
Personally I’m driving a Claas Arion 460 with a Claas TC2150
And a Claas 430 2013 with a Vicon balepack
If it wouldn’t of been this channel I would’ve thought that the thumbnail picture was some sort of crazy clickbait picture!!! That thing looks crazy(a good crazy!!)

@@bigtractorpower I really enjoy watching your channel
What dairy is this at, pagels?
I am not sure my friend John film this for the channel.
yes SHOW !
Thank you for watching.
2:40 Thats not right. In transport-mode the Cougar drives forward, in work-mode backward! 😉

I'm curious how many acres this farms mows since the felt they needed to spend the money on this huge machine!!
20k acers a year roughly
@@JoeyNemetz well I reckon they needed it👍🤣
we use John Deere 7430 with guidance and ivt and 945 moco. reliable setup for us.
Nice mowing team.
Needs a roller for ultimate striping.
My neighbor had two of these machines. Cool machines but they didn’t like there’s and ended up selling them both and getting triple mowers instead.
we use a john deere 7310 with a kuhn triple mower
When your neighbour bought a new bigger lawn mower than you and you show up in this thing
This one wins 😁
farm simulator 19 needs this in a mod
I would run this machine for free.
There is something so........ I don't know how to describe this.
My 8640 and Kuhn FC4000 combo looks like a weed whacker in comparison - a battery powered weed whacker!!
The 1400 is a monster.
✌️✌️✌️
😁👍
Ни хера себе там самолёт.
Why dont we have this in Farming Simulator..?? 🤔🤔😁😁🤠
That would be cool.
i need this at farm 25
Its a cool machine but i can see why they discontinued them $400,000+ is alot just for mowing hay...at least with triples ya can use a tractor you already have
I'll take one please.
😁👍👍
55 acers an hour! you would need a lot of hay to justify that machine!
It can cover allot of ground. It is a good custom cutter machine to cover multiple farms.
We cover roughly 20k acers a year. We have one 45ft Cougar, 2 Claas 1100c 36ft tripple head mowers, and 1 Claas 9200c 28ft mower
There can’t be many more left I heard most of them burnt up 🔥
The biggest issue is that when the heads were out there are no replacements so there are many being retired.
first
Your mom must be so proud.
@@svtirefire lol
Thank you for your enthusiasm to watch the Big tractor Power videos

..definitely not an ol' blue ford..
Anyone else think this thing is absolutely hideous?
