  • Sound demo and mini-tutorial. I just wanna say that some of the sounds youll hear in this video or on this channel might not always be the most musical or conventional sounds. This is more about exploring sounds and showing whats possible with synthesizers rather than me presenting you with a piece of my music.

      Not too much love though because evolver prices have nearly doubled in the last couple years lol. I want to get a 2nd one. Thanks for watching!

      Yo thank you so much. Sorry for taking so long to upload more videos or respond but I’m making more evolver videos now. My goal is to make the most in depth guide to the evolver anywhere. There are some place the manual is unclear or wrong and the only other guide I know of has the same problems.
      I’ve been making sounds and writing down my findings from the evolver for years but haven’t known exactly how to present them.
      Made a short introduction video to my guide. Might also try making videos of just sounds no talking that might be easier to produce

      @@photosynthesis69 I'm looking forward to seeing more of these from you.
      I foolishly passed up on a solid deal for one of these evolver jammies. that was nearly a year ago. I have never seen a good deal like that on once since. now, I'm a bit fixated on the POLYevolver!! (somebody open up a window in here. that GASsiness is really real!!)

    Best evolver video I have seen, and an incredible all around synth video. I really enjoyed this video and hope you make more. For me the Dixon techno style sounds were perfect. I'd love to hear more bleepy techno sounds!

    • @photosynthesis69
      @photosynthesis69  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yo thank you so much! I am still new to making TH-cam videos, recording myself and figuring out how to present it. But this has been years in the works lowkey. There are some things in the manual that are unclear/ wrong. Most of the evolver videos I’ve seen on TH-cam other than Jexus, are the preset sounds even if their videos are way better produced than mine. And this thing is not only extremely powerful but it also sounds dope. That is why I wanted to make videos of my patches and also a guide.
      I just uploaded part 1 of my guide and I will make some patch videos too soon. Maybe without me talking just sounds but will make sure to include more techno sounds.

      @photosynthesis69  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! This really is one of the best synths ever. I hope to show that off in future videos.
      Honestly I think the poly might be 2deep4me. Just knowing what I know about the evolver, I would get lost in too many possibilities. But I would like to get a mono evolver keyboard eventually.

    • @photosynthesis69
      @photosynthesis69  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Same I love hybrid synths and i think that is the best part about the evovler. The digital waves offer you so many options for creating different sounds, especially when you start using fm, ring mod, or sequencing the wave shapes. Thanks for watching and feedback! Will be uploading videos more regularly now.

      Thanks for watching! Terrence Dixon is one of my favorite producers, not only do I like his music, but i also feel like his sound is/was a big influence on Actress who is another one of my favorite artists. Specifically the track "Two sides to every story" i feel like you could play that track before or after almost any Actress track off of AZD and it would fit perfectly.

    Best three upgrades for the Evolver. 1- inline power switch. (Power on and off without unplugging). 2- knob upgrade (the added feel and bling go a long way). 3- laptop stand (more visually ergonomic) Cool video. I love my Evolver. Look forward to more Videos.

    • @photosynthesis69

      Yo thanks for watching. I’m gonna need to look into this power button mod. The lack of power button normally doesn’t bother me I just unplug but I be forgetting sometimes.
      What knobs did you get to upgrade if not the prophet 12 knobs, I think that’s what I’ve seen before.
      Will acquire stand soon. And hopefully more evolver videos soon.

    Hi, thank you for this upload. Do you think the desktop version works well without a computer and with just hardware, such as a grid or controller?

    • @photosynthesis69
      @photosynthesis69  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for watching. I actually really like using the desktop by itself. I do not think any other controller is necessary but definitely would expand your capabilities. If you had another controller you have up to 4 extra modulation routings. Velocity, mod wheel, aftertouch, and breath control. These are hardwired mod sources, freely assignable. If you say used aftertouch to modulate x, you could free up your lfos to do something else. I never use these because I primarily just use as desktop module.
      Also almost every parameter is addressable by midi cc. This is something I want to talk about in a future video. Because it allows you to workaround some of the limitations of the evolver. Something important to mention tho, you can only ever edit 1 row at a time on the desktop. So you can’t say increase filter cutoff and delay at the same time. With an external controller you could do that easily.
      I actually have the software editor also but never really used it once I learned the desktop workflow

  • @starshipdiscotheque6350

    did you everything without editor or did you use an editor like soundtower ?

    • @photosynthesis69
      @photosynthesis69  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have the soundtower editor but do everything from the evolver hardware. Im sure the software is faster and i should probably use it but im not sure i believe its absolutely necessary. i Think that the matrix editor is really well laid out and after using the evolver for a little while its easy to know your way around. To be honest i dont even use a midi controller when making sequences or playing my patches even though i should, in order to utilize the mod wheel or aftertouch routings, or to be able to transpose sequences on the fly maybe. I also feel like i have learned some things about the evolver that i might not have if i had always been using the editor. Thanks for watching also
