I think you did what needed to be done to help your orchid cactus!!! I bet she’ll grow and be so healthy and happy now!!! You’ve got so many groupings now 😍 🌵❤️ Enjoyed watching the process. Hopefully no mealybugs are still on any of the rooted parts.
Yes, I would definitely cut further up to ensure that cutting is clean without any risk of further rotting. Also as a suggestion you may want to have some sort of antibacterial solution in a container to dip your scissors in every time you make a cut. That will assist in not spreading any germs or bacteria when you make other cuts. I will normally use physan 20, peroxide or even clorox and water mix. Sometimes depending on how strong the infection or the type may infect your plant further. I think you did very good to cut it apart and give it a brand new start. Wishing you the best of luck with it. Give us updates on how it does.
MY Orchid Adventures Thank you Maria!💞😘 I never thought this would rot on me right away but that’s what happen because of buying too many plants.😂 Thank you for the advice, I need to do that solution too. My garden patio is in a mess right now rearranging my plants ready for Florida’s unpredictable weather.😂💐💖🦋😘
Cactus Caffeine Thank you Ana!😘 It’s very sad to see it like this because I like it full. I actually looked at the pile of dirt to throw away yesterday and found some seeds beginning to sprout. I picked them up, hopefully they will grow.💞😘
I just planted one cutting today with fruit on it and in the summer time gave my neighbors thy are growing well this is a loving plant does the fruit make flower or is that done sprit growing
How old is this plant and how long did it take you to grow it to this length? How old was it when it began producing fruit? I just bought one today and it is very small. I'd love to know how long it will take to look like your plant.
Good job
I am sure this plant is thanking you for saving it. Please do an update in the late summer to let us know how it’s doing.
I love that plant
