I've been a fan since 1978. One thing that sets Maiden apart from their peers - and this is as true NOW as it was back then - Maiden has NEVER degraded or objectified WOMEN with their music, videos or otherwise. Back in the early 80's, seeing women at metal gigs was a rarity and I was one of those rarities. I remember not being able to see another woman as far as I could see around me. Maiden has NEVER had to rely on SEX and exploiting women to sell records. And they were about the ONLY band back then who could say that! Their TALENT sold them and still does!

Metallica although great shows, failed in comparison to Maiden. AC/DC also great, but not the same level of entertainment as Maiden.
Been a huge fan of Maiden since 1980. If there was 1 person in the world of music that I could hang out with for an hour or two, it would be Nicko. Know he gave up drinking, but he seems like the kind of guy that you could hang out with at the local bar, and just laugh your ass off listening to his stories. Just seems like an average guy who happens to be in one of the biggest bands in the world.

Its amazing that Maiden isn't as big in the states as they are pretty much everywhere else I the world. You see them headline Rock in Rio where there are 500,000 plus people and then I go and see them just outside Chicago to barely 10,000 people and they weren't sold out and Bruce said it was the biggest crowd they had played to in the area for quite a few years. This was just a few years ago and they rocked as hard as they did the first time I saw them in 1984 on the powerslave tour. They are to me HeavyMetal GODS!!!!! I know that the end is coming sooner than later, but ou still don't want to admit it.All I can say is UP THE IRONS AROUND THE WORLD!!!!!

I also think the reason they draw more people in Latin America in a single show is because they play 1 show in each country (exceptions Brazil 3 to 5 shows & Mexico 2 to 3 shows). So Maiden fans in these country's & also surrounding countries with no Maiden shows converge on these shows that is held in a big stadium or big open area. Here in the US they perform up to 20 to 25 shows throughout the US in 1 tour. If Iron Maiden did 4 or 5 shows in the US each in a stadium or big open area you would see bigger crowds since fans would be all converging to their closest show.

I was introduced to Iron Maiden when I was about 7-8 yrs old, The Number of the Beast. The album cover was so awesome to me and the music I felt, since then I was hooked and a little Metal Head from North East Los Angeles was born. Metal music has the biggest fan base loyalty period.
Dont think they really care. There is a documentary on YT where both he and Harris talks about it and seemed to be no issues, he just couldnt stand the life on the road

i would not claim to be a maiden fan like the true fans are but i have a lot of love for the band. i have seen them 3 times and always great but what i really turn up for is the fans. maiden fans really love that band and they make the show. not many. if any, bands have the loyal fan base maiden have.

The part about Steve Harris & the rest of the blokes not wanting to be celebrities is %100 true. I’m Canadian & i know Iron Maiden love Canada & with Maiden being from “Leyton,East London,England” us “Canucks” & “Brits” are a lot a like for sure meaning humble & appreciate the small things in Life well maybe not the younger generation in both countries these days but the older generation for sure. A couple of very well known rock bands from Canada with one of them being “RUSH” & the late & great drummer “Neil Peart” hated the celebrity part of being a rock star & so much so that when bands do those pre~gig behind the scenes photo shoots with fans etc Neil Peart didn’t do them & with only being a 3 piece it made it difficult & it was left up to Geddy Lee & Alex Lifeson to explain at some of those non appearances in which i think was totally inappropriate on Neil’s part, your making millions of dollars because of all of us Canadians & the rest of the World & your going to act like that, i feel bad for saying it but that comes with stardom, if you don’t want to play to thousands of people a night & don’t want people chasing you then quit or don’t even subject yourself to that lifestyle & play in a garage band :-) Anyways God Bless Everyone & Both Iron Maiden & RUSH are amazing but “Iron Maiden” is by far my favourite band of the two in my top 5 Worldwide! I was introduced to Iron Maiden when I was about 7-8 yrs old, The Number of the Beast. The album cover was so awesome to me and the music I felt, since then I was hooked and a little Metal Head from North East Los Angeles was born. Metal music has the biggest fan base loyalty period.

i would not claim to be a maiden fan like the true fans are but i have a lot of love for the band. i have seen them 3 times and always great but what i really turn up for is the fans. maiden fans really love that band and they make the show. not many. if any, bands have the loyal fan base maiden have.

I think politics (Iron Maiden were banned in some South American countries for some time) and logistics (cost thereof) were the sticking points. Ed Force One made some countries (Colombia being one) accessible for the first time.

Iron maiden is now up their with bands like zepelin and Sabbath the same way priest is so why not CNN cover them they earned it better than the pop crap they cover in the US such as Britney spears or the latest trend and another thing about maiden maybe if they pop crowd realized that the clean guitar sample in brandi's song I tried was from the clansman I hope maiden got a royalty check for that the same way queen got sampled by vanilla ice but of course queens under pressure sounds way cooler as does maidens the clanzman does especially live with Bruce's vocals compared to blaze bayleys vocals
