Alright first chair status - Charles and Elgin! Great first reunion episode. I like that it’s an hour rather than the thirty minutes. Move over, Andy Cohen, Craig Stewart is coming thru.
Craig you ARE an elder now! You’re old enough to be a parent, grandparent and referred to as uncle. Lovingly embrace it with great honor and pride. You’ve earned the honorable distinction of elder!
I truly enjoyed watching this reunion. Please keep doing more episodes around the world with different ages and genders. Mother Gladys was & still proud of her baby boy.
Being from a conservative area, it is rare to find a tribe to have these types of conversations. I can not thank all of you enough for being brave enough to air this for our consumption. Thank you, thank you and thank you! ✊🏾❤️
My daughter came out to me at 14 I said girl I know...she thought I was'nt going to love her anymore...I told her I would never stop loving her...we are best friends...but she has alot of childhood trauma that she's in therapy for...but this podcast is so needed and I love it!!❤
Thanks so much Craig for these much needed conversations! Keep up the amazing work! 👏🏾👏🏾💪🏾❤️ Everyone did a great job expressing their perspective! It’s not easy for many to be in front of the camera (me 🤦🏾♂️) but everyone looks great and did well!
From the beginning of the end I was locked in. I'm so in to Calvin story, Ms.Glayds was right you need a talk show baby you'll kick J Hudson out the box. I love you and thank you for loving us the way you do❤
Craig, this is an amazing group of gentlemen than mesh/gel wonderfully. The conversations seem to flow beautifully. To have a group of adults, Black men, share parts of themselves genuinely is rare and wonderful to experience.
Craig, thank you so much for this. I truly enjoyed and found it educational/informative. Thank you ALL for sharing your stories. Craig seeing your mom made me smile.❤
I loved this. So good!!!!❤️ folks need to stop finding negativity in everything. You all did amazing, these are yalls experiences.and journeys. No one can tell you how to feel. It is draining dating some black men and im a heterosexual woman. Its very draining the black man can be. yall keep up with the amazing work!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you once again for bringing this back. This show is a MUST for the community and I had to do some conversations for myself to realize some things. Keep this going!
I’m hitting the like button and pushing play even though it is late and I’m probably going to fall asleep, but I’ll be back when my eyelids don’t have magnets attached lol.
I absolutely enjoyed this season!! Craig I heard you say the other season didn’t do well. I can say I tried to watch the other season but couldn’t connect with the Paris group, Idk why that was. This group reminded remind me of my cousins, uncles, and ppl I grew up seeing. That connection had me intrigued to stick around and I’m glad I did. ❤
This is Great interview and stories. And it was great that you dedicated to your Mother and you know how proud she is and was of you. Stay Blessed From Mississippi ❤❤❤
I absolutely loved pt 1 of the reunion as I did the season! I remember when you said you weren’t going to do it but the thing about alignment and a calling is you can’t give up on it no matter how hard you try…it tugs at you. Bravo👏🏾👌🏾
Craig, thank you for the TOS:BGA reunion! I truly appreciated how you revisited the key points that went viral-especially those I may have missed from the series-while also fostering deeper discussions about our shared experiences, perspectives, and ideas. These conversations are essential, and your dedication to keeping them alive is both timely and profoundly impactful.
Craig send this to me yesterday yes I miss my sister my best friend I'm in tears as I respond last year Gladys gave me a Christmas card it reads as Thank You Gladys wrote Merry Christmas Christmas and Happy New Year You're the best Thanks for being the best sister ever love Gladys
As we are discussing the why behind our actions, I can’t help but to think about how many of us are being driven by energies that we’re not even privy to. Many of us do not give enough weight to the biological and/or energetic drivers within us, separate from the learned behaviors. Therapy is hands down one of the most critical steps one can take to operate on a higher vibration, but it is hamster wheel work, if there are some other forces at play and those are not acknowledged and dealt with even if you’re not sure of exactly what they may be or who they are coming from.
I enjoyed this Craig and what you were saying about your relationship in the end made so much sense about giving chances but paying attention to the red flags…that’s hard! It’s like how in the world do you do both?! I can’t wait for the next part! I just enjoy your circle especially the support that Charles got from his family I think that is so dope and for ANYONE watching this please…SUPPORT your family and don’t judge! It’s not your place🤍
Wow... Calvin was a bit dumbfounded 🧐🧐🧐.. some of us couldn't be out here like that.. he was blessed and so privileged that he's not even recognizing it.. 😮
Wow…….. an invitation to explore intimate conversations. This offers the opportunity to live and grow by identifying that the struggle isn’t monolithic Telling our stories offers a cultural shift because Black people need to bridge the gap in order to become a heathier community
My take away from this season was yes I'm getting older and I'm still unmarried, but what can I work on when I'm relationship ready? I took away so many points from this series, like the words, we have all been someone's disappointment. This season has opened my eyes to who I am and what I'm looking for and how I can navigate through life. I am happy on my own and my partner is just the addition.❤
I feel like an elder is a certain amount of years over another person, so it changes depending on the person. Like a Decade to 2 decades older than someone else. I think it can also be over 45, but I don't think it means old, I think it means wise and experienced. 25:55
Live your life because all guys didn't play with dolls and the born males tried to push stuff in your face just to be like the group relax when out in about I love looking at you all ❤❤❤
I often think of Aunt Gloria (my mother's name). Imagine having a sister for over 70 years and her being your best friend and she has to leave you 💔 Kiss Aunt Glo for me Slim!!
Calvin is definitely privileged to be himself because of his parents especially him coming up in the 70s godbless them for that. Gay and bi black men which im am a bi man, had to hide who we are for fear of punishment, exiled from their family etc
I believe what kelvin was saying was say was regardless what other ppl think he gonna be himself… I’m tranz and my parents didn’t like it… although they luv me…. I’m 36 and there still learning everyday but that never stopped me from living my truth… fuxk what they thought… cause at the end of the day I have to live the life they blessed me with not the life they want for me….
30:39 I think the thing is not just the fact that people can handle criticism, black men specifically. But there also needs to be an understanding of the context that a lot of black men are used to black people in the media date white, especially when they're prominent figures. Like I can name too many black celebrities heterosexual and gay, that have whit partners. There is a huge onslaught of them dating white. I'm not necessarily saying I'm one, but I get it and I've felt it too. We constantly hear nothing, but we ain't shit and we can't be loved. I'm not specifically saying that's what people are saying, or trauma is leading us to hear that, but we never really hear the opposite of that. I feel like it would be good when we have these conversations to understand that perspective as well, and try to invite people on that do have positive black on black relationships with each other because we rarely see that. And it's not just prominent public figures, is also in our community too. I shop in a place that I don't see nothing but interracial relationships. I look on social media and I'm constantly hearing people say that black men ain't shit black women ain't shit This is heterosexual and gay. We just never really see or hear any positive representation. So it was probably very sensitive for people to hear people saying that is easier today to date white. Am I saying that it's not true for those people? No. But it doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt. The world outside of us tells and shows us that we ain't shit, and we rarely hear ourselves talk about positive experiences with ourselves. So it's very apparent that it would hurt. So we just need to understand that too Like I've always dated and talked to black men as a black gay men, and I've had some positive experiences, and I've had some negative experiences. I've had quite the not good experiences because clearly I'm still single and I've never been in a relationship and I'm 35 years old. However, I'm mindful of yes being honest and critical, but also understand the climate I'm in, and even if things are true in certain instances, I do understand that it can be impactful. Once again, not saying that anybody is necessarily wrong, but to understand that everybody isn't just mad, they're just hurt because we never really hear anything positive about ourselves loving one another, just that we're not good enough, broken, etc. TH-cam deleted a big part of my initial comment, so I'll try to remember as much as what I originally said.
All of the Man is looking great live your life but don't push on others let them be and stop thinking that they are looking at you for sex because humans get looked at for different reasons don't take it the wrong way
I love the flashback of your beautiful mom she loved those hoop earrings ❤❤❤❤❤❤

One should never make sweeping generalizations about any racial group especially when it relates to dating and expressing emotions.

I hate that yall did it outside because the audio is not good 😫😫 love this series (and Craig) so much though
Maybe the larger person felt it was about size because it did start with size and being/ not being attracted
Lets not forget the new word they use especially by some black women sassy
